Tudor Games International Electric Soccer Challenge Game
This game arrived in a timely fashion. It is OK, my son was thrilled at first to try it out, but after setting up and turning on, the players just go round in circles and it seems you have to really work at bending the plastic "frill" on the bottom of each player so that they actually go forward and not backwards or in circles. So, after 1 day of use, it is now sitting in a corner collecting dust. There was also a little ding on the "field" upon arrival. Calico Critters Townhome
My daughter received this house for her eighth birthday and loves it. I've seen a lot of reviews from people who bought it for a 2-year-old, which I don't understand, because all of the play pieces that go with it would present a choking hazard for such a young child. That said, the only limitation I see is that the rooms could be a little bigger, but that's my observation, not my daughter's. She has no complaints whatsoever. She doesn't do much playing inside the house. Her play mostly involves deciding where everything should go, setting it all up, and shuffling it around until it's just right.People with limited storage/play space will appreciate the manageable size of this piece. My friend's daughter has a gigantic Barbie castle that looms over any room he puts it in and take up all the space in the room when it's open and being played with. This is a more reasonable size and just as much fun.
The house seems sturdy enough for normal play, and the lights that really light up are very cool. Some people have dogged this product in their reviews, but I think it's a neat little house. More importantly, my daughter really likes it and uses it.

I bought this townhouse for my daughter last Christmas with high expectations.Man, was i disappointed!!!!Okay, it IS incredibly cute.The pictures on the box make it look perfect, and if that's all you were gonna do with it--look at it--this house would be great.But if you actually want to PLAY with it, which, i'm assuming, is essentially the purpose, then you're just outta luck with this house.There is just NO WAY to fit anything in this house....it's just too small!It's too small in 2 ways: 1) not enough rooms in the house and 2) not enough room in each room--you can't fit all your furniture in there--much less little hands.We mostly just use our Calico furniture out on our dining room table.I'd recommend purchasing a REALLY BIG doll house if you actually want to play with the Critters IN the house.Of course, Calico Critters company doesn't make ANY of their houses big enough, so you'd have to go with a completely different brand of house.That's what i plan to do.Read Best Reviews of Calico Critters Townhome Here
I love the Calico Critters and Sylvanian Families lines and I have since I myself was a child.I think this is a nice house for a collector, but the rooms are too small for a lot of play.The lights are kind of fun, but it's a bit gimmicky.It's a pretty house and it looks great, but the rooms are small.For a child especially, I would recommend the Deluxe Village House instead of this Townhome because the rooms are much larger and there's easier access for play.Calico Critters: Deluxe Village House

My 3 & 5 year old love this toy! The lights turn off and on in two of the rooms and the accessories and Calico Critters are super cute. It is a little small to fit all the accessories (like the bathroom fits the tub, toilet and small wall sink), but my kids enjoy trading them out and re-decorating any way. There is a bigger version of this one if you prefer more room. They enjoy plaing with all the little rooms and it is better if we elevate it so they can both play. It doesn't open to a 180 flat front, which does sometimes make it difficult for both to play at the same time, but it is very durable and withstands a lot.Save $0.04 Off

I was pleasantly surprised when I received The Fitness Challenge. The quality of the pieces far exceeded my expectations. The game came with a really nice scorecard and super strong magnets to hang it on a fridge (or hanging tabs for a wall or corkboard) The rules are very well written catchy and easy to understand. You start the game by signing a contract to signify your commitment to exercise for 8-weeks. There are two decks of wager cards that give fun ideas for all kinds of things to bet for. The wager cards are divided into different categories and can be played by couples, kids, relatives, co-workers and friends. They attach to the scorecard with well-made plastic clips. The game also comes with static cling "star points" that allow you to track your workouts. The nice thing is that the entire game is re-useable. The list of exercise choices includes just about any kind of activity you can think of, and the game specifies you how long you have to do each activity, depending on your fitness level. I really felt like having everything you need in the box takes all of the guesswork out of starting and completing an exercise program.

I received this as a gift from a co-worker last year. I had never heard of it, but she said she saw it on the news and thought it would be perfect for me. My husband is a running freak. He's one of those exercise zealots that tracks and times everything he does...while I prefer to sit on the sofa and "track" my online purchases and "time" my snacks. Mercs Minis: CCC Starter Kit
If you are shopping for a MERCS starter pack, this is the one of 8 factions you may choose. I don't believe there will be much difference between factions from a quality standpoint. The miniatures are decently manufactured and highly detailed where you need to have them detailed. Less attention was paid to clean fits and there is a loss in detail in some areas where a talented artist will have to be creative as to not have these areas stand out. Packaging is attractive, but could be better planned for interior packaging of the minis, dice, cards, and ref sheets. The minis are white metal and there are few mold lines, only a few options for different heads (with helmet and without). Which is okay because these are specific characters and not just line-troops for larger scale games. I like that the starter pack has just about everything you need to get up and running. A nice bonus is a few 2d terrain cards come with each different faction if you decide to play in a 2d environment. Another opportunity missed would be to have a spare card that can be used for movement template instead of using the individual character cards. The game relies on a mechanic that uses the character's card for a quasi-universal template for movement, range, area-effects etc. Sort of nice as you only need one type of template, but the cards just aren't going to hold up under playing conditions. There is an acrylic template that can be purchased separately, but it has been sold-out and unknown if they will be making more or migrating the rules to better accommodate a more traditional movement system. So, if you are getting into MERCS, pick up a starter pack...its economical and will get your into the game (which is where we all want to be right?)... GAME ON!
Matchbox Cliff Hangers Fire Station Playset
I bought this for my 3 year old son, and it's been a huge hit.He uses it on a tabletop, in it's folded state, as he likes to turn it around so he can access different sides.When it's attached to a table it's not as easy to get to the back side.The elevator works well for the most part, but can be finicky at times.The main issue with this toy is the curved ramp.Larger cars will often get stuck about half way down because the curve is too tight.Average size cars work fine, it's just the largest that have a problem.If your kiddo's favorite car is larger than normal, you may want to look at another play set.
I'm not sure why there's a "gun" on this toy.It's modeled after a water hose, but just seems like an odd addition to me.Not every toy needs to shoot something.

Totally my fault, but I didn't notice before ordering it how this thing connects to a table ledge.The connection point is a little wiggly, and the overall build quality is average at best.I don't like how the truck often doesn't make it all the way to the bottom of the ramp.The elevator thing often gets stuck in the shaft.But my son loves it, despite its faults.He can't really do much with it on his own, but he'll grow into it, I guess.I probably wouldn't buy it again, but if my son heard me say that, he'd cry.That's okay, I think Santa gave it to him, anyway.

The shooting water dartwas the only fun part if you can get the cars to roll all the waydown the ramp.

It's heavy which I think is good, my son dropped it and no scratches or breaks happened. It is much nicer then some of the ones I seen at the store that looked really cheap compared to this one. Gund Slumbers Brown Bear 17" Plush
Despite being labeled one inch smaller than Philbin, he actually looks a lot smaller in person. I think he's two to three inches shorter than Philbin is, personally. Philbin's head is the size of this bear's chest!He is very light, and Philbin is heavier. He looked softer in the picture but his chest is actually a wool-y texture. The rest of his fur is cottony soft like Philbin's. I think this fabric retains heat well so they're both good toys for sleeping with when it's cold.
I'm posting a picture of him next to Philbin.
I would recommend this bear for a smaller child because he is much lighter than Philbin and easier for a younger child to carry around.
He does not contain plastic pellets in his feet, but there are some in his tushy. Philbin has pellets in both areas.

My daughter instantly fell in love with this bear when she got it for her 1st birthday! She just loves hugging it and walk around with it, smiling and muttering "babababa". It's very soft, well detailed and seems to be well sewn together. It looks realistic (no exaggerated proportions) and cute at the same time. Great buy!
Sing - A - Lings Hedgehog "It's A Celebration
I bought two different Sing-A-Ling musical toys.These are much smaller than I thought they would be.I wondered why there was no measurements given to height in the description,well when the tiny box arrived my question was answered! Probably worth $6.00 to maybe $10.00 at most.They are cute and play music for about a minute till you push the button again.If I had the time, I would have gone to the mall to purchase something smiliar.
VTech - Sit-to-Stand Dancing Tower
I purchased this along with boxes of other items from Amazon during their holiday sale of up to 75% off toys. UPS showed up with about 6 boxes of toys and this little item is one of my sons favorite.There is little educational value with this toy and is meant more for keeping your little one occupied than to teach him the inner workings of cause and effect as most toys try to pander to a child's learning stage.
Essentially it is a steering wheel on a pedestal with lights, muffled voice, and a dancing bear.
Interaction is through levers, buttons, and of course the rolling noisy hamster cage. Battery life is unknown though we are still on the original Duracells in the unit since Christmas.
Safety:
The unit is pretty sturdy and seems to hold up well with the abuses of my son as he has a tendency to rather take things apart to see how what makes them tick vs. just playing them them. I see a Craftsman tool set in his not to far off future. No small items to swallow an nothing appears to be weak enough to break off. So far it has held up nicely.
The main safety issue would be the handles on each side. Because of the height and because the handles are closed loops a child can easily slide their arm in there and if they lost their balance as happens often with infants they could end of dangling from the handle with just there arm lodged in there with there body weight pulling on the them. Best advise to not leave your infant along with this toy for even a second.
The toy has a small footprint so taking up much real estate in the loft is not a problem and the unit stores easily while not in use though or course when we are about to move it our little one picks that moment to play with it.
Overall a nice little toy for the infant in your life.
My daughter loves to yell into the mic to hear herself and when the bear starts dancing around she loves to grab him and it has yet to break.
All around I say this has been a great toy that not only brings her fun but us joy when we watch her dance and hear her "sing"

Santa brought this last year for my then-9-month-old daughter, and it was an instant favorite.As she grew, we adjusted the height of the tower.She's a little tall for it now, but she still enjoys playing with it.I am most impressed with the durability of this tower.My daughter takes out some aggression on the poor dancing bear, but the bear just keeps on dancing!We have encountered no issues with the toy's performance, even after considerable abuse by a playful toddler.I highly recommend it!

I bought this toy second hand at a baby resale shop (side note: If you haven't checked out any resale shops, you definitely should! They have nice "like new" items for a fraction of the cost!) when my daughter was almost 6 months old. She began crawling when she was about 5.5 months old and when she turned 6 months, she started to pull herself up on everything! We didn't own many toys before this one so I wasn't sure how she would like it. From the moment we brought it home it has captured her attention! She is now 8 months old and still loves to pull up on it and play with it.
My thoughts on this toy:
-The songs are kind of annoying, but aren't all baby songs? :)
-The dancing bear is cute and gets her interested in the toy.
-I also love that it lights up. Babies love toys with lights!
-The microphone actually amplifies sound so it is another added bonus!
-Two babies can use it at the same time.
-The Level 2 height is perfect for an old/taller baby that wants to play!
All in all I love this toy for her and if you're considering purchasing, do it!

My twin girls love this toy.I bought it for them when they first learning to stand and really liked that we could adjust the height so that they could hold on it and learn to pull up.Once they were really pulling up we raised it and they use it to cruise.They love, love, love the microphone on it and laugh at each other "talking" into it.I think they will continue to enjoy this toy in the future as they start to learn the songs and to dance along with them.My only complaint is that the top rotates about a quarter turn and can be a little unstable when they are holding on.
Gund Sesame Street Everyday Feel Better Elmo 14" Toy
()We gave our 3-year old this Gund Elmo after a day where he earned all of his gold stars on his rewards chart (something I would have a hard time doing).He loves Elmo, and immediately took him, finding the squeezy-spot to make him speak within seconds.Okay, so our first mistake was giving him Elmo AT bedtime.The next two hours were "aahhh---chooo!" "Elmo would feel better if you hold Elmo's hand" and the other three phrases.Five short phrases (including the sneeze!) wear thin quickly.But the big news is this, and I capitalize this because it is so important:THERE IS NO WAY TO REPLACE THE BATTERIES WHEN THEY DIE.Elmo will fall silent permanently once the pre-installed batteries wear out.When I looked and found no way to replace them, I went back to the Amazon page, and sure enough, even Gund says it; "parents should be aware that the Feel Better Elmo does not have an on/off switch, and there is no way to change the pre-installed battery."
So here is cute Elmo, who my little boy loves from Sesame Street, and one day fairly soon, he will lose his voice.Not that I love changing batteries on toys, but that is kind of disappointing!
Also important; Elmo can't be machine washed, of course, due to the batteries that soon will be useless anyway.His robe and the tissue box are secured tightly; you can only "surface wash."
The Chinese construction of Elmo isn't bad, really, but why spend $27 or so for what amounts to a temporary version of a doll?I like the idea of my little boy hugging Elmo when he's not feeling well and getting ready for some rest, but as a toy, and even as a stuffed animal, this version of Elmo falls short.I can't really recommend it.
