Tinkle, Crinkle, Rattle & Squeak Worm - Primary

Tinkle, Crinkle, Rattle & Squeak Worm - PrimaryWe initially got this toy for our daughter based on the Oppenheim Toy Portfolio rating.I think it was too big for her at first, but now (she's eight months old) she loves it.She rediscovered it a month or so ago and loves picking at the antennae as well as squeezing and shaking it to get the various sounds. It's also nice because the sounds aren't obnoxious....

The sounds this toy makes fascinates babies who are just learning to grasp and control objects. This was my kids favorite toy by far for the first several months so I buy it for every baby shower.

I got this toy because it contains so many opportunities for sensory learning. Each segment is a different bright color and makes a different sound (activated when you or your child squeezes or shakes it -no dumbed down just push a button here) and it feels soft (made of velour).I got it when my daughter was 3 months old but I would say she didn't really fall in love with it until about five months.A great value.

I know the dimensions are listed, but for some reason I was surprised at how big/long the caterpillar is.Because it is not like a big stuffed animal (long and thin) it was very easy for my 4 month old to hug and hold.He can easily pull it to his mouth to bite on it.He's almost 6 months now and can focus on one area or another...it is still big for him.So I can see how for the next few months, he'll still be interested because it is big and he can do more and more with it.my 2 year old niece visited and latched onto it and began imagination play.

He loves it and plays with it every day. Even my 1 year old daughter likes playing with it. Very easy to assemble. Big enough for the play, but small enough not to take too much space in the playroom.

I am so disappointed in this toy.It is poorly made, the plastic is very cheap, there is nothing to hammer even though there is a hammer and nails, sound effects are lame, the tools are cheap and barely work, there is a "saw" but nothing to "saw", and the thing was complicated to put together.the vise barely works and the wrench is useless.don't waste your money!Bosch should be ashamed of themselves for putting their name on such a worthless toy.

Redline Victory 6-Feet Hockey Table

Redline Victory 6-Feet Hockey TableJust received my Redline Victory air hockey table and assembled it. Be warned this is a Chinese press board product put together with hot glue. All of the hot glue joints had separated. Rather than send it back I spent an hour regluing and adding screws to keep it together and beefing it up with a couple of 2X4's. It is now very sturdy although I might have to add some bracing for the legs. If you get one and don't rebuild it, do not lean on it! After I got it all together I found that one of the scoring sensors was not working. After another hour of working on it I was able to enlarge the sensor hole and get it working. This evolved disassembling the goal piece and drilling out the sensor aperture hole in the mount. So unless you have good carpentry skills and a working knowledge of electronics spend the extra money and get a quality table. It is fun to play after you rebuild it.

My children enjoy this game.Because they are always learning when they play it, I do not mind how long they play it.I bought it for my son who needed to practice multiplication for his grade.I watched my 5yr old son watch intently my older son playing this game.My 5yr old has learned some of his timestable. This game is able to sustain my very active 5yr old for hours at a time.I hope to find a similar one for addition and subtraction.

We had the free demo version for 2 days and my two kids are begging to play. No joke.

My 4th grader was in tears last year because of the timed tests at school (and hated doing them). So this past summer, I forced them to do flash cards, and got lots of resistance. The kids didn't WANT to learn their times tables and were determined to prove to me that they couldn't.(Maybe other kids aren't this stubborn / uncooperative.)But, the truth is, I can sympathizeI hated learning my times tables too.

So if they will play -on their own -and practice the drills to defeat the ogre, I am psyched!

(Also, based on my training in pedagogy, the method seems sound: practice a bit, rest a bit, practice a bit more in several different ways, review.)I'm buying the upgrade version to see if we can get them through all the levels.

Black And Decker Junior 24 Piece Tool Set (Window Box)

Black And Decker Junior 24 Piece Tool SetNice looking tool set, but could have been designed better.

There are nails and a hammer, but nowhere to nail them into. The provided blocks of wood don't work, they only fit the screws. And they're so thin that if you put the wood piece on the ground/table the screw won't really go in very far.

The drill is not battery operated, but it will move when the trigger is pressed. That's nice in a way because you don't have to change the batteries.Unfortunately pressing the trigger rotates the drill right, and releasing it rotates it back to the left. The result is that all rotation is canceled out.My two year old loves to the set, but hasn't yet figured out how to use the drill because you have to pull it out of a screw each time before releasing the trigger.

Overall, the set is ok, I'm not going to bother returning it (well, and I can't because the packaging had to be cut into pieces to open). But if I were to make the purchase again I'd go with a different set. Also, I saw the 42-piece version of this on sale for $16.99 at stores after buying this one here on Amazon.

My two year old son loves tools so this was bought for him as a gift.It is a large set with many cool, fairly durable parts.. overall worth the money. However, because the toys included in the set are not very interactive, meaning they don't make any sound or do much, my son has been a little less interested in them than I would have thought.

My son is just turning two and has had this toolset for about 4 months. He plays with it every single day, and brings the saw, hammer, and pliers with him everywhere he goes. We also got the Black and Decker Junior Build and Play Dump Truck. The toolset works great with the truck, and the truck gives a good purpose for the tools. When my son is done sawing between the books on our bookshelf and hammering the playground equipment, he pulls out the screwdriver and fixes the truck before dinner. Makes for a very satisfying day. :)

The tools are sturdy and they look realistic. I'm generally a fan of wooden toys, but I'm grateful these are plastic he can hammer the table or drop the screwdriver on his toes without doing damage. Glad they are not battery-powered either. He can bring the drill to bed with him and we know it won't wake him up in the night.

Very glad we bought this set!

VTech InnoTab 2S Wi-Fi Learning App Tablet- Pink

VTech InnoTab 2S Wi-Fi Learning App Tablet- PinkHOW ARE INNOTAB 2 AND INNOTAB 2S THE SAME?

If you're already familiar with InnoTab 2 you're basically looking at the same tablet. The design stays the same, with all of the keys in the same place. The only addition is the WiFi key, which tells you if the tablet is connected to the internet, and how strong your connection is (a four bar display).

Included Apps are the same.

VTech still decided not to include the rope for the stylus. In the manual they call it a "Wrist Strap Fastener" (Note: not included). But it's clearly not a wrist strap fastener, because the stylus has a rope loop hole in it, and the tablet has a hole in it right beside the stylus. The website even states it has a "stylus with hole for string." My husband thinks VTech doesn't want the liability of a child wrapping their neck in the rope, and put the responsibility on the parent to get the strap themselves; it certainly seems that way.

HOW ARE INNOTAB 2 AND INNOTAB 2S DIFFERENT?

Some people like to creatively take the tablets out of the box for setup before handing to a child as a gift. InnoTab 2 is a bit of a challenge; just use sharp scissors to break the tape and foldout the box carefully. InnoTab 2S, I am happy to report, is the easiest of them all! The tablet just slides out the top in a plastic covering; no tape, or attachments cut into the box. You simply pop the tablet out of the molded plastic, and there you have it! I feel like someone at VTech heard parent's frustration and decided to fix this... thank you!

The big difference with InnoTab 2S is the new wireless capability; but don't imagine browser capability. The WiFi is simply used for downloading apps from VTech's website. Your child can make wish lists with the Wish List app on their tablet; my son is only 3, so he's not using that feature... yet. Downloading apps is easy, but you don't purchase them off the tablet itself (that's good new, otherwise imagine all the apps your child might "accidently" buy). You purchase them off your computer, tablet, or phone (I haven't used that feature yet).

The look of InnoTab 2S is basically the same, but I enjoy the bold black inlay over the previous grey and pink choices. I think this way it looks more like quality hardware and less of a toy (that's just my preference, my son doesn't care). Oddly, the one I have is considered blue because of the color of the back, not the front, which is white. Even the rubber sides are grey, unlike the pink one which actually has more pink on it. I think the "blue" is less gender specific because the back looks more dark purple; something to think about for parents who need to share this tablet between genders.

Finger swiping on the InnoTab 2, my son was having problems with the tablet thinking he was selecting an app, which would cause it to load. With InnoTab 2S the opposite has occurred; now the tablet wants to swipe to the next page and not open the app. At 3, my son prefers using his finger, but the InnoTab 2S works best with a stylus and opens apps perfectly that way. This is a bit of a downer, but workable.

OVERALL REVIEW?

It pains me, because I really want to like the InnoTab 2S, but it has one big flaw that hasn't been fixed it's *still* s-l-o-w. InnoTab 2S takes 43 seconds to reach the app home screen. The InnoTab 2 took 37 seconds; we shouldn't be regressing here (I should mention, the LeapPad2 takes 21 seconds!). It takes InnoTab 2S a solid 8 seconds to open an app. I said it before, and I'll say it again, there's a lot of "loading" (read: waiting) going on with the InnoTab 2S, and it makes a difference to me.

Another thing I had a bit of an issue with is videos. The InnoTab 2S comes with the same memory as the InnoTab 2 (2GB). You can add an SD card to expand up to 32GB; that's a big plus, but I've never needed it with my son. This time I wanted to upload videos for him to watch. So I put a 16MB SD Card, that came with an old camera we purchased, into the tablet. Putting the SD Card in was easy. The slot is in the battery compartment; you'll need to remove the batteries. This is a nice touch, in a way, because my son can't get to it and loose it. But can I just say that getting the SD Card out is a pain!!!! Horrible design. My son can probably get it out easier than I can. My husband? No chance. It doesn't have the push-eject feature, so you have to extract it out with small fingers, or tweezers! VTech if you're reading this, please fix this.

Afterwards I plugged in the InnoTab using the USB cord to my PC, and pulled up an LLL file on the card. In that file you transfer your converted video, photos, music (supports JPEG formatted photos, and MJPEG/H.264 videos (avi)). Sadly, there wasn't much I could put on a 16 MB disk. BUT, it was really easy to transfer everything and find them on the tablet. The video was of decent quality with playback options. Unfortunately, I'm not willing (read: lack the time) to convert movies for use on the InnoTab when I already have them converted for the iPad. But, if this is a feature you like and want to use, you'll enjoy it! Also, as an MP3 player the sound quality is decent, not a lot of distortion.

So which do I recommend?

Either. The WiFi is a nice touch, but not necessary. And there are no big changes between the two, except the InnoTab 2S appears slower, and the color change.

In case you don't want to go looking for the reviews on the VTech InnoTab 2 Learning App Tablet White, which is the same, here are some things you might find helpful:

Screen size (2 ½" x 4 ½"), or 5" if you're measuring diagonally.

Require 4 AA batteries (not included).

Uses a stylus (comes with two).

Has a cartridge port for additional games and uses purchased apps.

3-9 year age requirement.

Swivel camera.

Can buy additional accessories like screen guard, cases, rechargeable batteries, ac adapters, and headphones.

Personalize for up to 4 players, plus 1 guest.

Has an eReader, MP3 Players, art studio, calculator, calendar, notes, clock, and most of your basic themed books and games.

Has a mic and volume control.

Parent tracker that allows parents to track their child's progress and success playing a game.

Rubber corners to help protect it from a fall.

Battery compartment is easily accessible, just slide a switch and it opens the compartment. This is where the SD Card slot is found.

2GB of memory, but can add an additional 32GB of memory with SD Card (not included). I've found 2GB is more than enough for our needs.

Can be played right away (just add batteries, not included). Need to spend less than 5 minutes setting up the tablet date, time, and personalization.

InnoTab has a tilt sensor like an iPad or iPhone and will tilt the screen if held horizontal or vertical.

Has buttons for brightening or dimming the screen, but don't expect much, there's only four bars and it doesn't make a lot of difference.

Has a "?" button that allows you to hear instructions again, or find out more information about an app (nice touch!). The InnoTab itself tends to repeat things all the time (it's a bit annoying). The tablet doesn't ever sit quietly when turned on and not touched, it constantly wants to talk to you; you'll need to turn the volume off.

Comes with manual.

Internal "kickstand" for standing the tablet up vertically or horizontal.

Plays converted videos. Quality isn't like an iPad or iPhone, but little kids won't mind.

()I love this. It helps the little ones to learn and play so easily with the big buttons to decide what they want to do and the touchscreen is fantastic. the stylus is not attached so it will probably get lost but otherwise the touch screen works very good. My grandaughter played with this and I believe she would have played thru the night if I had let her.One thing about this is you can put learning games on it and they think they are just playing games while they are really learning :)

Buy VTech InnoTab 2S Wi-Fi Learning App Tablet- Pink Now

()This kids tablet is a low cost tablet choice for the youngins, and while not bad, you get what you pay for.

The resistive 5-inch screen is of decent quality. The menus are colorful and fun looking. It takes a little more pressing down than a capacitive touch screen, like our phones, so the kids took a bit to get used to that. They included stylus helps with that. It is not very accurate for small movement (like drawing a small circle) with my finger. This also shows up also on the menu when tapping an app with my finger, sometimes it'll slide the menu instead of starting the app. Using the stylus helps with this.

While testing the screen, I opened up the art studio app, which had automatically saved what my daughter had been working on previously, so it saves progress pretty good, at least in this case.

The apps in the store are, as I write this, are on sale for $2.99, but the regular price is $4.99. It's a little high when I compare that most apps in the Android store (I'm an Android user) are free, or one or two bucks. You do get 2 free apps for signing into the PC software. There are also eBooks for $3-$5 dollars and videos, that are around 20 minutes, for $3.

The PC software is required for navigating the app store and also for tracking your kid's progress in apps and learning. I haven't had the chance to test all the tracking features yet.

On the tablet is a wish list creator where you child can browse apps and let you know which they want.

The tablet itself hives off the setup features decently, but if your kid can read and/or is clever, they can get into them.

One of the features is a content lock which isn't a restriction system to prevent content (which shouldn't be needed) but instead it prevents deleting content.

One thing I could not discover is how to delete a profile. There is also no way I can see to disable making new profiles. This could mess with all the tracking, if they are making new profiles and playing on them instead of the one they are supposed to.

Any big issue with a tablet is battery life. In a nutshell, it's really great for battery makers. Batteries die daily. But, you can use a 7.5v adapter (not a charger) to keep the tablet powered (needs batteries installed to work), but you will have to be next to an outlet to use the device. Great for knowing where your kid is, bad for taking it on a trip. VTech sells an adapter for a fair price. I'd rather they sell a battery pack that can be charged, but at this time, they don't.

Overall, for a hundred bucks, I'm not sure this is worth it. You could save up for a $200 Nexus 7 or a $159 Kindle Fire and have a lot more options, and a better experience (I don't have either, but I know you could easily set up an Android device to be kid friendly.

I'm a bit of a tech geek and sci-fi visionary, so I see things sometimes for what they could be, and the InnoTab 2s could be a lot better, but probably at a higher price.

It's not bad, and there's a good chance you kid wont mind a lot of the things that bother me. If money is the issue, it's a low price tablet designed for kids. If you have money to spare (or enjoy having credit card debt) I suggest you do a little more research at other options before buying this one for your child(ren).

I never write reviews but this warrants one. I researched this to death and was so sure I had gotten the right thing for my daughters 5th birthday. I chose it over the leapfrog tablet because of the wifi. The wifi doesn't work when downloading ebooks. You still have to use the cable. The wifi sucks up a lot of the battery power and is painfully slow. You have to install software to download anything and you have to use a computer to download to the innotab. This makes having wifi pointless. The software is soooooooo slow to connect. I just spent 30 minutes just trying to download some new games to the innotab but it didn't work at all. My daughter was drain.

()My nine year old and I have been exploring what we can do with the VTech InnoTab 2S Wi-Fi Learning App Tablet.First, the product is easy to set up but a little time consuming.Don't wait until Christmas morning. You need to load the learning lodge navigator on your PC.That seemed to take a lot longer than installing things usually does. The front of the box boasts 17 apps with the purchase of the Innotab. You have to log on to get them.I wasn't very excited about many of them.I can't figure out what the point of WiFi is on this. You need either the cartridges or you can try to load apps on but we used a cable because the wifi was too slow. The wish list feature is really annoying.I don't really want to get lists of things to buy.And speaking of buying things, the cartridges are $12-$17.That is a lot more than a book or a movie. The one thing that I was interested in was the Vtech University. However when I went into the Learning Lodge it says Vtech University is coming soon for the VTech InnoTab 2S Wi-Fi Learning App Tablet. That was a little frustrating.

So really for an older kid, this isn't a very exciting product.I wouldn't recommend it beyond age 7.I think she will enjoy the mp3 player and the ability to take video.I don't see us using it much beyond that.I do wish that the reader let me add books from public domain or the other ebooks I have already purchased.

Sesame Street Puppets

Gund Oscar the Grouch Hand PuppetI have a 1 year old daughter who loves it when I make puppets talk to her.I have really had a hard time finding puppet in the local stores, so I decided to turn to the internet.I used to have some Sesame Street puppets when I was a kid and thought that they were great. So I figured this would be a perfect puppet to use with my daughter.

Here's the thing. The opening into the head of this puppet is too small to get a grown ups hand into and still be able to operate the puppet with any ease. This puppet is easier to operate than the Ernie puppet, (which I also bought) but still pretty difficult.

The overall look of the puppet is good, but it isn't very user friendly.Needless to say, I am pretty disappointed in this product and wish that I wouldn't have bought it.

If you are looking for a puppet to entertain your infant, try checking out Toys R Us.From time to time, I have been able to find some animal puppets that make noise when you use them.My daughter just loves those.

We got 4 of the sesame street puppets for Christmas and grandkids just loved them. They are so soft and well made and the mouths can move so the kids had them talking up a storm. My son also teases and tickles the kids with them which gets my grandson going. My grandson won't part with his Elmo puppet (his favorite). I'd buy them again

My daughter loves it. I don't think it is designed for kids to operate, but kids can still have fun with it even if they can't operate it. I agree that upon arrival the mouth is somewhat too stiff to operate even for adults. But the easy solution is to take the mouth and force it open wide to 'stretch' it open. After you've stretched it open for a bit, you can put your hand in and operate it much easier. My daughter and I have a blast with it. Very well made and high quality.

However, it didn't bother me too much as he still ran well with the truck that had snow flakes on it, a tanker with a wreath on it, and Emily's coach with Christmas decorations. Overall, this is a very nice product you can add to your Christmas tree when the holidays arrive.

Train is cute but a much smaller scale version than expected. The tree is either removable or came out before we even got the train running.I like it but it was not what I expected

This train is cute and my son liked it, but it was more fragile than I expected and it comes off the track fairly easily, especially when attached to the other train cars.I was disappointed.

My daughter loved this train. It came, as shown and in great time.I would recommend this product.Occasionally it derails, but it is easy enough to put back on.This is a small size train set, so make sure that is what you are looking for

Little Tikes Bold N Bright Toy Chest

Little Tikes Bold N Bright Toy ChestThis toy chest has been a life saver! It holds more than you think it will, it's lightweight and easy to move, plus it's not completely hideous. My only complaint is that the top pops completely off, which is great if your child climbs in and can't get out, but not so great when you're trying to cram in a few more stuffed animals before company arrives. Previously, we used storage cubes on a bookcase and my daughter would pull all of the cubes off, dump everything out, and leave a huge mess. Now she goes to the toy box, gets whatever is on top and leaves everything else alone.

The box is very, very durable and I don't think we will have to replace it.Heck, when she's outgrown it I may just paint it or make a slipcover for it and use it to store linens.

*Edit*

Nearly 2 years later this has held up brilliantly. When it starts to look yucky I grab a magic eraser or some clorox wipes and it looks brand new again. We now have 2 kids and plan to get another as soon as we carve out some space. One thing that I'm not crazy about is the 2 green drawers at the bottom. They do a fantastic job of holding the little toys that get lost in the big area but our oldest likes to pull them out and not put them back. They do not have tracks for them to slide into place and she can easily do it on her own, she just doesn't like to reach near dark areas. It doesn't change my opinion of the toybox at all, I still give it 5 stars, just something that I thought people might want to consider.

After an irrepressible nesting impulse overtook me at only five months pregnant with our second baby, I decided to relieve the tension through a massive re-org of my two year-old daughter's toys.We use the huge main storage compartment for her stuffed "friends" and the two green bins for her two sets of blocks. It only took her a few minutes to master opening and closing the top without smashing her fingers, and even when the lid lands on a finger it doesn't seem to distress her.I love that she can easily lift the lid and pull out the green drawers herself; it leaves her no excuse not to help cleanup. When she recently started climbing inside the toy box, we learned why the hinges of the blue door rely on gravity; she easily pushes the whole top off with her head, leg, or whatever body part first attempts to escape.I also like the rounded edges which keep both of us bruise free when we inevitably run into the thing multiple times a day.The standard "Little Tikes" plastic is both durable and easy to clean.Since it's not the smallest toy chest on the block, make sure you check the measurements against your available space. Also, since the colors are just as vibrant in person as they appear online make sure you're comfortable with the youthful aesthetic it brings to a room.

Got this to help with the clutter in the kids' play area.It serves its purpose, and the bright colors don't look so bad considering some of the other toys my kids have already. The box is very sturdy, so unless my kids drop an anvil on it, I don't see this thing going anywhere anytime soon.

This is a wonderful toy box! It is durable and easy to clean. It has a wonderful safety lid and my son loves the pull out bins for his small toys. I highly recommend this for anyone looking for a practical toy box. The best part is the toy box was much cheaper than other options we considered.

The Little Tikes toy chest is durable and brightly colored for girls or boys. Just the right size to fit in the nursery closet or out of the way at Grandma's house. The lower drawers are perfect for books and puzzles. Helps teach the babies to "pick up their toys".

Step2 Real Projects Workshop

Step2 Real Projects WorkshopThis little workshop has got to be one of the cutest toys!I bought it for my daycare but my 17 month old daughter loves playing with it too!The screwdriver "works" with batteries, and it comes with several other tools.I also love all of the foam "wood" pieces.Although my daughter doesn't understand what to do with them, she still thoroughly enjoys playing with them. She also really likes putting things in the pullout drawer.Assembly is pretty quick although the holes are not pre-drilled for the 4 big screws. But pre-drilling them myself was no problem.

The ONLY downfall is that the foam blocks don't stay together that well. They can be put together, but are easily pulled apart through light playing. But overall, I would not say that's a big deal.I'm sure kids will enjoy playing with it no matter what!

This is a GREAT workbench! We bought this for my son's 3rd birthday. He was having a construction-themed birthday party AND he really liked playing with some tools he got for Christmas, so we thought this would be the perfect gift.I did lots of searching online before settling on this workbench (after reading reviews and deciding on what we wanted exactly).I like toys that are well built and leave a lot up to the imagination (no batteries, lights, sounds, etc...).So, I considered this workbench and a few others.

The drill does require batteries, but nothing else makes sounds. It includes a plastic working drill (with forward and reverse modes and 4 different bits), a plastic hammer, and a plastic saw. There are no other tools, which is disappointing, BUT pretty much any plastic screwdriver will work with the screws on this workbench, which would be better for fine motor skills. There are 6 plastic screws that can be screwed into the top of the bench or used with the plastic nuts. There is a drawer to store everything in, but it is a bit hard to pull out and push in (maybe it will loosen over time, though). The bottom shelf is great to store all the "wood" pieces. There is a vice that has a spring in it, so it will actually hold the wood pieces. That's a neat feature.

The coolest part about this workbench is all the "wood" pieces it comes with. They are actually foam, but they look like wood.My son loves putting them together to make things -an airplane, a birdhouse, a backhoe, etc...He does need help at his age to make many of the things, but he can put them together any way he likes!Even myold twin girls love playing with them!It is great to see them using their imagination and trying to figure out how to make the projects on the "blueprint".There are more specific instructions included that show which pieces to use for the project, but I'm not sure we'll be able to keep up with them for long. The pictures are on the workbench itself, but it is hard to tell what pieces to use just by looking at those pictures.

All in all, this is a great toy that will keep children entertained for a very long time because it is versatile. They won't get bored. My son has enjoyed screwing the screws in with the drill and pretending to saw and hammer. The assembly was not hard at all (took me about 5 minutes), but the holes on the side of the workbench were not pre-drilled.You just screw the screws right into the plastic. It isn't hard, but I did not expect that.

We haven't had this workbench long, but it seems pretty durable, considering it is plastic.I worry about some of the small tabs on the foam pieces breaking off, but that's pretty minor.

I highly recommend this workbench, especially at this price!I'd only pay more for a wooden one.

This work Bench is well designed and constructed. The recommended age is 3 years + but if you have a fast learning 2 year old it will be very enjoyable for them and helpfull in learning their motor skills. A good product.

My son loves tools so I got this for his third birthday. He doesn't play with it as much as I thought he would. The drawer is impossible to open and close so we just leave it shut.I'm not sure what causes it to fit so tightly that it cannot be easily opened without using some force. It is also a lot smaller than I imagined. He does play with it from time to time, but I don't think it is one of his favorite toys by any means.I do like being able to build different projects with him though.Perhaps he will use it more as he gets older.

This is the best quality toolbench available for children. It's made by Step 2 and very sturdy. My 3 yr old daughter (yes, that's right daughter) received this for her birthday. She loves tools and has a blast with this bench. It comes with a drill that you can use to screw and unscrew bolts. It also comes with a drill attachment to pretend drilling holes. The vise is easy to use.The wood pieces are made out of foam, but until you actually touch and look at them close, you wouldn't be able to tell. The toy comes with a "manual" that shows how to create various projects (birdhouse, cars, tool box, etc). And your child can use their imagination to put their own items together. It is one of the best gifts she received for her birthday. Highly recommended!
