Marvel HeroClix Infinity Challenge Starter Set
If you're a big fan of the Marvel Universe, then hold on to your web shooters! This game simply rocks! It takes minutes to learn straight from the box (the rules can be a bit confusing at times, but you'll have it down pat after a few games). It has collectability, a great design, and limitless stategy. This means big time replay value.
If there's one main gripe, it's the fit and finish of the product. Some of the dials don't "click" easily, and forcing it will lead to breakage. The paint job on some of the characters is also blah. And what's up with the look of some of the characters: Boomerang?Elektra?
Take my advice folks.Put away the Magic cards, the Yugi Oh-No cards, the ridiculously high maintenance "other" miniatures, and run (don't walk), RUN to your nearest game store.Heroclix is THE game to play!
By the way, I gave the educational value a 5.Why?Becuase I feel that ANY game that invloves strategy, mathematics, team work and memory selection is beneficial to anyone who participates.More importantly, is enhances social skills by promoting healthy debate/dialogue.Games, like comic books, are brain food.Let our kids do both!
What could possibly pull a jaded, 20-something gamer, fed up with the money-and-arms race that is Magic and disgusted at Wizards of the Coast and their attempt to turn every RPG into a simplistic, corporate clone, back from the depths of gaming despair?
In a word: HeroClix.
From WizKids, the folks who merged the collectability of Magic with the strategy of miniature gaming like Warhammer in their popular Mage Knight, without the insane price and rules that take years to learn, comes HeroClix, a tabletop strategy/collectable figure game featuring super heroes from the Marvel comics. Each figure has a certain point value, and you build your team based on a set number of maximum points, and then score yourself at the end based on how many figures you have left and how many of your opponents' characters you have KOed.Your "force" can be comprised of over 150 super heroes and super-villains from the Marvel universe, including Spider-Man, Professor X, The Hulk, Ultron, members of S.H.I.E.L.D., and Skrull warriors, to name a few.Want Magneto to fight Juggernaut, assisted by Cyclops?Go for it.Can Kingpin take down Annihilus?Maybe!
The "Infinite Diversity, Infinite Combinations" factor is just one of the things that makes HeroClix so fun.The rules, which are deceptively simple (yet confusing at times), are easy to pick up you can start playing in about a half-hour.For disputes, WizKids offers a major rules errata section on their website.Strategy takes a little longer to develop than the rules of the game, but after a few games a player should be able to come up with some killer combinations and be kicking tail with the best of `em.The super-powers can be a little confusing (thankfully, they are all color-coded and a standup card is included as a guide), but those who are familiar with the characters from the comics should have no problem figuring out who does what.
The Infinity Challenge set is a great start to a great game.Sure, there are some major character omissions Beast, Storm, and the Fantastic Four to name a few but WizKids are already talking expansions. The next set, which will probably be the same size (150 characters), is going to be from the D.C. universe, and will feature The Joker, Batman, and Harley Quinn, among others (those are the figures whose pictures are featured on the website). After that, there will be a smaller "Fantastic Four" expansion, which might have a few more missing Marvel people in it, too. There are also packs of objects to litter around the map (and throw at people), and a gigantic Sentinel enemy to defeat, coming in the next few weeks.
Will HeroClix become a game like Magic and Pokemon?Maybe. Most of the players are, like myself, jaded 20-somethings who are familiar with the comics and maybe that's not such a bad thing. It will keep it from becoming another psychotic arms race for the most expensive characters, and hopefully keep it grounded in the fun, happy-go-lucky spirit of the game, instead of becoming a rules-fest where people cheat and bend rules to win (a la Mage Knight). The only complaints are that the figures are sometimes bent, the paint jobs sometimes shabby, and they are sometimes very difficult to move (you can actually tear legs off if you aren't careful).Otherwise, great game, and it looks like it's going to get better.
Grades:
Fun Factor: A+ (NEVER a dull moment!)
Educational Value: C+ (Strategy)
Durability: C (depends on the figure)
Final Grade: B+

Heroclix is a heck of a fun game.Quick to learn and lots of action. Though the basic rules are easy to pick up, like chess, there's a lot of strategy you can develop, which characters work best with each other, how to overcome other's player's tough guys. In each box, you get a random selection from 150 different figures from the Marvel Universe (well, sort of. There are really only about 60 characters. Most come in three different "experience levels" representing a weaker, rookie version, a mid-range, and a tough veteran version.) Each character is given a point value based on how powerful they are, and you build a team based on total points. So a 200 point team can be two big point value powerhouses like Juggernaut or the Hulk or 8 or 10 smaller value heroes/villains like Daredevil, Vulture or even a few generic Thugs & Henchmen. No limits to how to build your team, so you can go traditional like all X-Men, or put together any wacky team-up you want. Spider-Man and Annihilus on the same team? Why not? With more expansions to come (the first was just released), you can play a very long time and never play the same game twice.

This game is not only a lot of fun to play, but it's a lot of fun to collect! Being a long time Comic Book fan and player of RPGs (Especially the Super Hero ones.) this game just offers a lot on so many different levels. Easy to learn rules that will take you awhile to master the strategy. Great looking miniatures that also look great sitting on display in your game-room or even your office. The Marvel Comics game is great, it features characters like Spider-Man, the Hulk, and Captain America. In a few months, the DC Comics game will be coming out! Look for Batman and Superman with that set.Want Marvel HeroClix Infinity Challenge Starter Set Discount?
Pretty cool toy.Got this at my local gaming store to try out with my ten year old daughter.Simulates comic book action and super-hero powers very well.Takes a little longer to learn than the box says, and you need a pretty good sized table to use the entire map.I gave it 3 stars for educational value, as one does have to do multiple single and double digit number addition and subtraction, which my ten-year-old found challenging. The pieces seem a little flimsy, and my 5-year-old broke King Pin off his base.

Even before the train arrived I taught our boys (ages 4, 6, & 8) that it's a MODEL and not a toy! Toys get played with and thrown into toy boxes. Models get set up on table tops and run with care.
We received our shipment within a couple days however the packing was horrible. The train was placed in the bottom of the shipper with some paper packing thrown on top of it. This was fine however the train had no packing to cushion it on the bottom! Despite this everything was intact except the caboose which had a set of wheels that apparently popped off. They were easily popped back on.
Setting up the train was simple. The track went together very easily. We broke in the loco as recommended and then hooked up the cars. The transformer isn't very sensitive so we ran the train too fast at first which resulted in some derailing however we quickly got the hang of it and had the train running for several hours without a single derailment! The tricky part was finding the right speed to get the train up the bridge without it straining but not too fast that it would derail coming down the bridge and around the turn. Once the right speed is found the train RUNS like a champ!
The fun of a model train is RUNNING them. You have to use judgment and exercise certain cautions. You can't expect to open up the loco full bore and NOT have it derail!
Two of our boys are autistic and they thoroughly enjoy the train. We all do! This was our first train and we've been bitten by the bug! We're going to build a nice layout and are sure to have MANY hours of fun RUNNING our MODEL train! Maybe Lionel is the favorite and classic brand but this train is OUR favorite and bound to be something we'll always remember and cherish. Thanks for the great train and incredible value!

track is very cheeply made compared to all others I have. small tabs on the ends will break extremely easily and I highly reccomend you buy extra to start with. The train itself is fair for the price. The train and train cars are great.I really like the new style HO track, so much easier than my older style. The bridge is nice as well. The size of the track is not bad either, adding on soon as parts come in. The plastic cars are okay. The buildings were a little difficult to piece, glue, paint, and put together.(picture of buildings little deceiving. The signs dont come painted either. Luck, I had some old rail signs to use.Over all not bad for the price.Im about to purchase another Walther train set having a different engine, plus I need the extra track to replace the old style HO. So much smoother.

Fisher-Price Servin' Surprises Kitchen & Table
Since we have become a three generation family, I have been stretched in many ways, but probably the greatest is assembling toys for my granddaughter.
We had been looking for an activity table that would set nicely in our living room, and was delighted to try this one from Vine to set up our granddaughter. In fact, since she loves cooking (cooks in the pool, in the bathtub, and with all of the kitchen implements in her bedroom), the kitchen parts were an added plus for her.
If you aren't watching the video, there are 14 parts to assemble, 24 (Phillips head) screws, and 6 AA batteries to bring this project together. I had intended to put it together later, but UPS left it on my porch while we were grocery shopping, and my granddaughter immediately wanted to play with it. It took a short time to assemble it (mostly screwing things in place), but the instructions were easy, and it came out very study. Given the price, I find it a great combo deal that will work with kids, especially when you are working with a small area as we are.
The table at the lower level is VERY short, although it might be useful for toddlers. We immediately adjusted it to the taller height, and she was able to get a chair under it, so it will do the dual duty as an activity table. I especially appreciate that the center is designed to hold the toys that come with it, so they can stay together. With her imagination, she puts everything inside it at night and calls it "the dishwasher."
The extra special part was that the pizza comes in pieces and can be turned over to make either veggie or pepperoni pizza. The plates and silverware are good size, and the cups are actually large enough that she wanted to drink out of them.
The stove top fits over the oven, and once the batteries are in place, the timer actually turns on a light inside of the oven. The stove also bubbles and sizzles, making it fun to cook.
On the other hand, it is difficult to fit the pizza tray inside of the oven (and the oven door is difficult to snap shut). Workable, but still notable. Also, the tray with the food and songs held no appeal for her, I turned it on, and she immediately turned it off. It is likely because of her age she wants to play, not listen to things, since she has an active imagination.
Because of the sturdiness, we will be using it outdoors as well as indoors. So I received this toy as part of a party. Upon first assembly, the table top was cracked. I don't know if this happened during shipping or during assembly, but received a replacement (again, part of a party). The table is quite sturdy once put together. They really tried to make this table hard to tip over sense it is geared toward the 2-5 crowd. I have it set on the lower setting and my toddler can stand comfortable at it and reach the center. When we had it on the upper setting, it did seem a little more unstable, but not bad. All of the "sets" that go with it are so cute. (again, party. we got all 5 with the table)
Tea set cute. But most little girls have a tea set. I wouldn't get this one unless you just need one. It had a tea pot that has a stream of tea come out of it (cute) .. extra cups that get put everywhere. Some silverware, and a creamer + sugar container. Also has 4 little treats. The tray that everything goes on was a little difficult to assemble, just because I had to line everything up just right. Honestly, I think the only one who has put this set on the orange tray is me. My almost three year old mixes and matches this set with her Laugh and Learn set. I think it holds her attention better. Personally I'd skip this set
Baby high chair Now this is cute. It attaches to the table and removes easily. You can put just about any small baby doll in it. The little food tray is cute, and my little one likes to pretend with it. The spoon that comes with it is supposed to "magically" change to which one of the three foods you choose. It's actually difficult for me and my husband to get the slot to match up just right. It has little teeth in each food that turn the spoon. Great idea, but not the greatest implementation. I still recommend this set however, because any little one that loves to play mommy will love this.
Grill set. This is cute. It has a little ketchup and mustard, tongs, hot dog, bun, and a shishkabob. My three year old does like this set (although she tries to feed the hot dog to the baby doll.) The songs that play are nice too, not to loud or annoying. This one is kind of a toss up. Just depends if your little one is interested in BBQing.
Ice cream set This set gets played with the most by far. It has 3 cones, about 6 or 8 "ice cream" scoops, 3 toppings, and a scooper in this cute little carousel holding tray. The ice cream has all different flavors. My three year old doesn't quite get the scooper to "click" on the ice cream tops to make it stay, but she does just fine holding her hands on it. Then she likes to share ice cream with us. I would really recommend this set if you are going to get one.
Birthday Cake set This one is super cute! It comes with 4 slices of cake, sliverware, plates, and a candle that has a blow out candle. The songs for this set are nice, and my little one loves to sing along. You can also flip the cake to chocolate or vanilla. This one is also a big hit, and I recommend this set as well.
Table-
The table itself is great. I love the oven, although it is a little difficult to get it to line up correctly and close. My little one doesn't mind though and will bake a pizza or cookies any time. This table gets played with just about all day long. She has other toys she will play with, but this is certainly her favorite. Now, being 3 and sense this is in her room, she doesn't get to color at the table yet (I don't feel like her figuring out how to color on the walls.) but I'm sure the time will come for that.
The little stove top is cute, and she likes how she can cook like mommy does at it. It makes a few sound and different phrases.
We did have one major thing today. My little one decided to take her cup and tip it upside down over the orange tray ... and it is not playing anything right now. I'm not sure how much water actually got in there, but I've got it sitting on it's side right now to try to dry it and we will see if it plays again. She will be very sad if she can't sing the clean up song while she is cleaning her room anymore. If it doesn't dry on it's own, I'll try taking the battery cover off and drying it out that way. I'll update if that works or not ... i hope it does.
update Yes, it was fried. So any water getting into the speaker area will fry it. You would think it would be a little more waterproof considering how kids this age think ("Oh its a kitchen, let me put some water here.") But we pulled out the spare and are back singing lol. Just make sure your little one knows no drinks on the table.
Overall a Great toy. This should provide hours of entertainment for your little one. I would definitely buy it again.

()One of the nicest things about the Servin' Surprises Kitchen and Table is the fact that most of the kitchen accessories can easily be stored inside when not in use.Children can easily clean up their kitchen when they are done, lessening the chance that the smaller pieces will be lost in the shuffle.I've literally got boxes of unknown "things" that I haven't a clue as to what they originally went to.This innovative, multi-purpose table can be said to have a lot of educational value, encourage fine motor activity, or have any number of interesting attributes, but it all boils down to one thing . . . F-U-N.
WHAT'S IN THE BOX:
*Table with convertible stovetop
*Removable oven and "magic" serving tray
*Four slices of pizza with toppings
*Pizza cutter
*Four cookies
*Cookie sheet
*Two place settings (forks & spoons)
*Spatula
*Cups and plates
As expected, there is assembly required. When we received another kitchen there were also twenty-four screws, but it's a lot of fun to include kids in the assembly process as they feel they have a bit of ownership in the process. You will need to have a Philips screwdriver and six AA batteries on hand. Assembly takes about a half an hour. The table can be adjusted as the child grows with a simple twist and lock mechanism.
When you place any of the items on the "magic" serving tray you will hear different sound effects and phrases. For example, when you put the pizza on you will hear "I'll have two slices, please!"When you put the cookies on you'll hear "Mmmmm, cookies!"Your child will also be prompted to clean up.There is a center storage unit that the pieces can go in when you're done. The stove top flips, becoming flush with the table top.The table can be adjusted to "grow" with the height of your child with a simple twist and lock movement.
There are several other accessory packs that are compatible with the Servin' Surprise Kitchen & Table that you may wish to consider. There is theFisher-Price Servin' Surprises Ice Cream Set, the Fisher-Price Servin' Surprises Birthday Set, the Fisher-Price Servin' Surprises Deluxe Tea Set, the
Fisher-Price Servin' Surprises Grill Set, Fisher-Price Servin' Servin' Surprises High Chair Set, and the Fisher-Price Servin' Surprises Deluxe Tea Set.With the wide variety of sets, one can "customize" the table for additional fun.

I don't rate and write reviews, unless it's something I really want to share with others. This is something I really want to share. And no, no one paid me to do so. The Fisher-Price Servin' Surprises kitchen and table is absolutely fun for kids! It is a great product that gives children the endless possibilities for creativity and imagination! The table is such a versatile piece that can be used to draw, play, and definitely eat on (just add some chairs and you're set to go!)I originally ordered this item for my cousin's 4th birthday. When we opened the box, 2 of the plastic plates were bent (probably because of packaging). My cousin was so thrilled at the gift itself, it didn't bother her that a few pieces were misshaped! I called in to make a complaint, and the representatives were understanding and immediately sent out the parts, no questions asked! Thanks Fisher-Price!
I bought this item in October, and every day since then, my cousins have been constantly utilizing the table. For the price and great customer satisfaction, I'd say it's a steal! :)

()It's so tough trying to explain to my just-turned-3-year-old that whatever new awesome and age appropriate toy he just got has small parts and can't be left around the (7-month old) baby. This product was designed with baby siblings in mind. It's great for households with children of different ages!
My son is having a great time pretend playing: he loves putting food in the oven and serving people cookies.I appreciate the fact that my 7 month old is still able to use the table as a coffee table to practice her standing.(She also likes eating the spatula.)
The set is expandable, with a "magic" serving tray. There's basically a set of rings that the plates fit into that identify what they are. It's a pretty cool and reasonably low tech (for today's age! Hi tech would be to use RFIDs) way of adding utility: the songs that the tray sings are about pizza when the pizza tray is on, and about cookies when the cookie tray is on.However, it still sings about cookies when the pizza is on the cookie tray. It's also a bit hard for my son to actually get the rings to interlock properly, so a lot of the time it plays the default, which includes a great song about cleaning!
The door to the oven is also a bit hard to work, but since there's no "glass" in the window, my son generally just reaches right through without bothering to actually open the door.
An awesome part for parents: there's storage built in to this thing! In the center of the table is a compartment where you can put everything, and it ends up looking like a cute coffee table for the playroom.
It is very sturdy and well constructed, and it wasn't too hard to assemble using just a manual screwdriver.
Overall, it's a pretty pricy toy, but it really does capture my son's attention even though there's a lot of other things competing for it.I'd probably put this as a competitor to a kitchen like Step2 LifeStyle Custom Kitchen, and would have to say that this is a clear winner with its expandability as well as its convertability to just an ordinary play table.A kitchen is a kitchen, and when the child is done playing kitchen, or too old to play kitchen, it just goes in a yard sale. This, however, allows for playing lots of different games (including Kitchen, but also Birthday) and is just a good child sized table for drawing, building trainsets, or whatever.
Mini Lalaloopsy Playset - Tea Set
Pros...
~Crumbs Sugar Cookie is in a fancy yellow dress and black mary janes~ different from the original Crumbs mini. Her mouse wears a bow.
~The creativity it took to design the furniture is sweet... literally. The chairs look like cookies, the table is made of a spool and a cookie.
~The accessories~ a b/w striped teapot, 2 teacups & saucers and a cookie jar~ are some of my girls' favorite pieces to play with, whether it's with the mini Lalas or the little My Little Ponies.
~We've had this set for over a year, and it still gets lots of play time.
Cons... these are structure related...
~The chairs are very frustrating because the dolls don't sit in the chairs easily. If at all.My 3 year old gets so upset with this.My 6 year old just doesn't bother trying to seat the dolls, but seats their pets.
~The chairs come apart. The backs snap off (which is somewhat a pro because THEN the dolls can sit, sort of).The legs all pop off.If the legs do come off once, then they will a million times.
~The accessories are teeny tiny. While cute for kids who do not put every single thing in their mouths, the small accessories are a major attraction and choking hazard for little ones.My 6 and 3 year olds can't play with this set (or any mini Lala, for that matter) in rooms their 15 month old sister can roam in.
Yes, I would recommend this to anyone willing to glue the furniture together, and to anyone without babies around:)
I bought this for my niece for her birthday and she plays with it constantly!!Holds up well and was a good price!!

My daughters ages 8 and 9 love these. They are so cute. They love rag dolls because they are so floppy and these dolls are just the same but plastic! Their legs swing freely, heads bobble, and their arms can be twisted. Just very cute. Seem very well made and durable. They were their favorite toy this Christmas!Want Mini Lalaloopsy Playset - Tea Set Discount?
This is a very cute little set. There are a few downsides I see, but they don't affect the use so much that I would "take them all back."
Firstly, all the pieces will not fit on the table at once. The table is barely big enough for the two teacups and saucers and the teapot. You can't fit the cookie jar, or if you put the cookie jar on the table, the teapot won't fit. That's why the doll is holding it in her hand in the product photo. Not the best design but not a deal breaker.
The other thing that I don't like, is that each chair is SIX PIECES. You all know that while these tiny toys are adorable, the less pieces the better. Especially when if a chair comes apart, and you lose one leg, the chair is pretty much useless. So why make each leg, the chair seat, and the chair back, all pieces that detach from each other, easily. They don't necessarily "fall apart" and they are sturdily made, but the backs came off the chairs when taking them out of the packaging, and my daughter had all the legs off the chairs about 5 minutes after I gave them to her (she's almost 4)I tested, and the table also comes apart in three pieces, but she hasn't figured that out yet :) So overall, what looks like 3 pieces is actually FIFTEEN pieces.
I am not worried about her with little pieces, but she does have a younger sibling in the picture, and the fact that she can take the legs off just increases the chance that she could lose a piece and the littler one could find it and choke. Just my thoughts. Not necessarily a deal breaker, but something that surprised me. I never tried to sit the doll in the seat before. My daughter never complained about it... But I wanted to test it out myself, and yes, it is IMPOSSIBLE for the doll to sit in the chair. Her legs are attached to her body and swing around freely under the dress much like the gong of a bell. My daughter has not complained however. I also know that not ALL of these mini dolls are like this, because we also have the Pillow Featherbed mini doll and her legs are "normal" and poseable, rotating at the thigh.
Overall, we purchased this at a retail store for an affordable price, and it's a great little quiet toy that really holds the attention of someone who is also into things like Polly Pockets and Littlest Pet Shop. Great toy for playing up on the table or taking to church or the doctor office. Doesn't take up much space, could fit in mom's purse or child's backpack, is lightweight and has no noises or lights that would annoy anyone. It keeps her pleasantly occupied. I would recommend, if solely based on her happiness :)
Play Vet Set
Totally worth every penny!First off, the shipment came quickly, packed very well in a 100% recycled content box and "pthalate free" bags. All of the pieces fit into the doctor bag, with the exception of the scale and both animals. My daughter sometimes puts the puppy in the bag with everything, and carries the kitty, so it works well for us.
My daughter has expressed frustration with the scale as it is difficult to place either animal on the tray without it falling off.If the tray were an inch wider it would be better, but if an adult helps her, there is no problem. The plastic bandages took some getting used to as they are not very flexible, but after playing for a few minutes she figured it out.
My daughter is having a blast with this kit.She has asked us about the pieces she didn't initially understand (odd looking thermometer, syringe, pager) and now she's running wild fixing all the (stuffed) animals in the house. She won't use it on people, but I love seeing how tender she is while she's "fixing" her animals.
Although at first I was hesitant to pay almost $50 for this, plus shipping of $11, I am glad I did.It was worth every penny!!
Bought this vet set for my granddaughers for Christmas. It arrived in good shape and was just as advertised. All the items in the set were a good size and the girls are enjoying it.I had selected another kit, but when I looked at the reviews for this one I changed my mind and got this one.I was disappointed that the kit did not include the doctor's jacket.I was also very disappointed in the quality of the bag. There are many pieces included and for the few kids who are already avid pretend vets, perhaps this would be fine. However, for just a toy I should have gotten the cheaper one.I feel gyped.

We bought this for our 4 year old niece and it was her favorite Christmas gift. This kit is loaded with pieces, including a beeper, vet bag, 2 good sized animals and really tons of other items. It is a great buy!We love it!Every stuffed animal and the family dog and a couple of the neighbor's cats are healthy and happy now that my 6 year old grandson has checked their health. Several stuffed animals were discovered to have had "broken legs" and those were splinted and wrapped in gauze, but I'm sure Dr. Dean will make sure they recover quickly! I gave him the Vet Set for Christmas and it was a hit from the minute he opened it. Very well designed and fun.
