We use these nightly. Sometimes we groan when my daughter puts them on the table. Everyone is tired, dinner took longer to make than we thought, traffic was bad, everyone is grumpy..We start doing the cards and we can reconnect and get back in touch and leave the worries and world behind. Love these.Puppy Party Fire Hydrant Centerpiece
Was to be the centerpiece for a dog bday party and we had to crudely tape it to the tablecloth.

Step2 Naturally Playful Sand & Water Center
Old Review from May 2007:
First of all, we have had this toy for 3 years and it still looks like the first day it came out of the box (in the BLAZING Texas sun). Also, it has been moved around too many times to count and is still as strong as ever. It's durable. Plus, it really does keep water out and the cover stays put tightly even through the most violent and windy thunderstorms. The umbrella is awesome, although I did have to replace it once due to weathering. I soooooooo don't care. Read on...
I'm on my third child now and if there is one thing I'm sick of, it's the toy that's a one-trick pony. I'm really looking for more versatility in a toy. That said, let me tell you why we will keep this toy until the kids outgrow it even though we also have an 8x10 ft. sandbox in the back yard. Sure, it's a sand and water table but we've done it all:
(1) sand alone
(2) water alone
(3) potting soil/trowels/silk plants/plastic pots
(4) landscaping stones and small Tonka construction vehicles (aka "the quarry")--sometimes the small trucks even deliver to the Tonka Mighty and it goes on for hours
(5) bubble solution to use with the large wands and even the small and different wands (so that the kids aren't fighting over the tiny opening of a tiny bottle of bubbles that inevitably gets spilled all over the patio)
(6) a Mommy-made iceburg (colored blue) on the hottest summer day with dollar store penguins and polar bears--you can even shave the iceburg to make snow (I used a putty knife) and put crushed ice (if your refrigerator makes it) in the water to make it a happier habitat
(7) dishwater and play dishes with sponges and scrubbers to play clean-up without making a mess at the sink like they do inside
(8) aquarium gravel/toys/plants with pretend fish
(9) sand over buried "fossils" (pretend dinosaur bones found at the local dollar store) -Put a small layer of sand on the bottom of the table, place bones all over that, add more sand to fill, then saturate all the sand with water and let it dry completely (left in sun, might take a day or two depending on temps). That way, they'll actually be able to kind of chisel the bones out instead of just easily moving the sand.
(10) sand sifters and dirt with various sizes of rocks that I spray painted gold -super fun day!
(11) measuring spoons/cups/jugs that teach lessons about volume -pair with bath color tablets to learn about color mixing!
(12) Did you know that Little People LOVE to go to the beach? (Off subject, they're also not opposed to a tumble in the dishwasher!)
(13) any number of arts and crafts activities that I would rather do outside than inside (making slime, papier mache, etc.)
(14) tin pans/muffin cups paired with dirt/sticks/water mud for mud pies
(15) sand castles, of course!
(16) dinosaurs and various animals add a tremendous amount of play value to your basic sand environment.
Well, that's all that I can remember doing in three years time as I sit here writing this review, although I'm sure there's more. As if all that isn't enough, this table is a great size. No elbowing for more space here. There's room for 6 kids. Yep, one on each end and two on each side. True story.
Do you miss sipping iced tea and reading a magazine or chatting with friends? It can happen again while your toddler plays happily and safely. I LOVE this toy. Can you tell?
One question you need to ask is do you want one side sand and one side water, or do you want two sides with mud?You should decide otherwiseyour kids will decide for you.
Seriously though, we have a 1, 3, and 5 year old and all three enjoy this.I'd say that ~8 years might be the upper limit at which point kids might start to get bored...
UPDATE:I'd still stick with ~8 years as the upper limit, ours are now 3, 5, and 8 and it's clearly the younger two that enjoy this the most. We're not on about our 5th year with this....
I'd recommend not filling the sand side up all the way as the kids enjoy it just as much with only an inch or less of sand. Also you end up buying sand less often this wayit seems universal that they DO NOT want to keep the sand on the table.
Note that there is a water drain ONLY on the "wet" side so you may have to bail the "sand" side out when they start moving the water around.
It came with a few boats, bridges, etc.Naturally, Hot Wheels and other toys will end up here.Consider adding a few empty yogurt cups, plastic utensils, etc to the mix. It's amazing how much fun and unstructured play they can have with these.
The umbrella is a nice touch as our deck is very sunny. If you don't need it for this toy you can still use it elsewhere as it's basically a beach umbrella with a shorter stick. The original umbrella is in a matching color, though if you need a replacement it seems Dollar stores sell one that is identical except for color. UPDATE: We bought another umbrella at Harbor Freight same style except it tilts for better sun protection.
My one complaint is that the top tends to collect water. It's designed to drain, but the top will sag, particularly because kids like to sit and stand on top.I put an empty yogurt container over the umbrella hole before I put the lid on and it helps prop up the top enough for (most of) the water to run out.
UPDATE: After ~5 years outside it had collected some algae and mildew on the lid and sides, but a quick blast of the pressure washer this spring cleaned it up and now it looks as good as new!
Otherwise very sturdy just like all Step 2 products.

I purchased this even after the reviews about leaks in the legs. The design really is a bit silly as there is no reason to have holes for the legs as you screw them in via the side. We put it together and it leaked, I took it apart purchased some sealant at my local hardware store and reassembled. No more leaks and my little girl (16 months) loves this table. We only put water in both sides as that's entertainment enough for her. We live in Texas and I'm afraid of snakes and bugs getting in, so once she's ready for sand the fact that it's not on the ground and has a cover will help. I can see how it would be a little heavy with sand if you need to constantly move it but overall it's a great product. If we didn't have to use sealant to get it to stop leaking I would have given it 4 stars.

We bought this last summer for my at the time almost two year old daughter. It was very easily assembled & we dumped a bag of sand in it for immediate play. The difficult part is the water because its so fun the kids love to mix the water with the sand (fine) and the sand with the water (messy). We have had to spray the water side out a couple times which is easy enough to do and let the water/sand mixture fall under the table through the drain. We've had this now for a year.It is very durable. We have no problem with the drain. The cover still works great (although is a little discolored from the sun/weather).Its still a hit.We would buy this again in a heartbeat! It is a gift that has been enjoyed by everyone!!!(oh...and this only requires 1 bag of sand to fill the sandbox the guy at the store told us it took 2 so we ended up with an extra one bag will be just fine!!!)

After much internet research, I went with this sand and water play table over several others, and I have been very happy with my choice. However, I do not have anything to compare to as this is our first (and hopefully last) sand/ water purchase. My daughter is 21 months.
Pros -
1) it is off the ground, which keeps it (and the child) a bit cleaner. Also safer with little ones, as they can't fall into it and drown. The pattern of roads through the water side also ensure they can't get their heads underwater.
2) The lid fits on well, and is secure even in storms.
3) the water side has a plug and is easy to drain. We've had no leaks, and we didn't even screw the legs on, just popped them in.
4) the umbrella is great, the height can be adjusted and it keeps her mostly in the shade all day.
5) the little enclosed toys are a perfect size for the sand and the water.
6) a perfect size for smaller children such as mine, though I suspect older children would find it a bit too small. Several children can be around it, we have had 4 year old visitors who loved it, and we have managed up to 4 children easily.
Cons
1) the sand and water WILL mix, and you will spend a lot of time emptying the water side and refilling it with clean water.
2) need to store the umbrella not a big deal but my daughter likes to wave the detachable pole around like a sword if I leave it under the table.
3) there is a tendency to tip the sand onto the floor, I guess if you are 2 and you have a shovelful of sand, you want to experiment with gravity, but it is messy!
4) pretty low table for an adult
Things that might help
1) matchbox cars fit the roads perfectly. Little kids soft tonka toys (those cute soft plastic ones with the faces) do not. This was a bit upsetting to my daughter as she wanted to make the cars go on the roads, and it took us a day or two to sort it out.
2) the sand side takes about half a 50lb bag of playsand. You could fill it higher, but then you will lose more over the edge. We just top it up as needed. You can buy a bag at Home Dept for 6 dollars.
3) normal beach toys are a little too big for the table, eg buckets. We use the digging toys (shovel, rake, castle mold) from the "Green Toys Sand Set" Green Toys Sand Play Set but the bucket is too big really. Other beach toys from Toys R Us, etc are way to big.
4) get a small stool for the adult play partner it makes the whole experience much more fun for you!
5) we use a spare silicon food loop Fusionbrands The Food Loop 15" Silicone Trussing Tool, Set of 4, Pink to hold the umbrella and pole together when folded. This has made it harder for my daughter to wave it around and keeps the umbrella neatly.

My only complaint to the company or the shipping service is that the box showed up and it was in its original box. There was nothing covering the product to disguise it. I am always worried about not being home for package deliveries and something "disappearing" from my front porch, especially if one knows what is inside the box already with the picture right on the front.

Stiga Baja Climate Series Outdoor Table Tennis Table
Picked up this table last night from a local dealer as its unfortunately too heavy to get online and the local dealer had it on sale. First thing to be aware of is the weight of this thing, its about 250lbs in the box so you'll need at least 2 or more people to get the thing in and out of a truck. You will have a really hard time getting the box into anything but a truck its roughly 4'11 X 5 ft. Its well protected in the box with particle board to keep the sides rigid and keep the table from getting dinged (nice touch on the manufactures part). The table directions were super easy to follow. Took about 2.5 hrs to get it together. You will need two people once you get to the point of having to lift half the table and place it on the rolling legs and poles. Only tools needed is a ratchet or wrenches, a crescent wrench to hold the other side and a screwdriver (a drill will make your life much easier). Make sure when assembling to place the locking wheels on opposite sides of each other so they hold the table in both directions.
Build/Appearance:
Overall the build is extremely nice, the bottom of the table is all aluminum and the top feels/looks very solid. The leveling feet are a nice touch and were perfect as my garage floor is not perfectly level. The table can easily be setup by one person, the lever arms are very sturdy and support the weight of the table perfectly. The wheels have lockers and did a good job of holding the table steady as i opened it up. The net assembly was sturdy and allowed perfect placement and tightening of net. Played about 2hrs on the table and am really enjoying it.This table is absolutely horrible. The bounce is awful and the table is literally almost too noisy to play on.Stiga should be ashamed of putting out such a sub-par product.Avoid any of these tables with the aluminum composite surface.

Fisher-Price Laugh and Learn Apptivity Case: iPad Edition
The two main problems are:
1.) Can't turn it on/off (or recharged) without removing iPad from case.
2.) Some apps may have areas of the screen you want to protect against the babies pressing.
For the first I set the iPad to automatically turn off after 15 minutes of being left alone, then drilled a small hole over the Home button. Now I can turn it on with a pen, and it'll turn itself off when they're done with it.Don't have to recharge nearly so often.
For the second I found that cutting a thin piece of cardboard in the shape of the area you want to protect works wonders. The fit is tight enough that there's no need to use tape or glue it'll stay in place.I had a piano app with a config button that allowed them to get to Facebook and iTunes, but with the cardboard problem solved.I like this case. I probably would not buy it again though. Here's why: It's expensive for what you're getting. It adds a good amount of size and weight to your iPad but I guess it has to in order to make your iPad rugged. I tested this with a first generation iPad and the fit is perfect. I can't speak on later versions of the iPad and whether or not they would rattle around inside this case. It's difficult to dry this thing after washing it because internally, there are lots of little spaces where water can get caught. You do not want your iPad in this thing unless it's completely dry. The screen produces a lot of air bubbles (the same air bubbles that you get when applying a protective screen to your iPad). The flaps in the back that pop up to make a stand are worthless. Laying the iPad flat on a table with one of the flaps popped up does not raise the iPad high enough for children to see and use the iPad. The toys in the handle just get in the way. Without the toy rings in the handle, it makes for a great handle. But with the toys in there, it makes carrying the iPad with the handle difficult. The free apps are fun and interactive but you do not need to purchase this case to buy them. Just search for "Laugh & Learn" in the App Store. There are 4 apps in all.

First thing is:I just paid $26 with FREE shipping and now it's almost $50?????? Seems shady. However, this is exactly what I've been looking for. I have 2 toddlers in my home that are early learners and I have lots of apps for them. The home button of the iPad screams "push me" when you're 2 years old. I like that it has the option for covering the home button or leaving it open to the protective touch screen for when Mommy wants to take it back. I also like that it's almost impossible for little hand to remove the back. Yes, it's adds weight, but that means its harder for them to lobb across the living room. Yes, it's bulky, but I honestly don't mind. Now I don't mind allowing my daughter to sit and play with my iPad. Giving her supervised independence and giving me peace of mind is what I was looking for and it's what I got. By the way. I typed this review with my iPad in the Fisher-Price case.Read Best Reviews of Fisher-Price Laugh and Learn Apptivity Case: iPad Edition Here
As most "child centred" tablets are really deficient in terms of number of apps, battery time and need for re-charging, we settled for an iPad for our two and a half year old and it is really good as a learning, playing and teaching tool. However, it was always going to take a battering by being thrown, smashed, sat on and ... you get the picture!.This product has proven to be very durable, strong, not too heavy, but just heavy enough to discourage too much throwing around by a toddler. It also allows reasonable picture quality through the screen. It has been dropped, scratched, smashed and thrown around but the iPad is very well protected, i couldnt have found a better product to protect the iPad. One major failing is that in designing the thick strong casing and protection, there is no way of adjusting overall volume, switching the ipad off, using headphones or doing anything that involves controls on the iPad's own casing. Otherwise i recommend this highly.Want Fisher-Price Laugh and Learn Apptivity Case: iPad Edition Discount?
This is the best purchase I have made for my iPad.I have 3 toddlers. They can use my iPad to play games, view videos, etc without me having any fear of damage.
The protective shield for the face of the iPad doesn't hinder it's capability at all.
The children have dropped the iPad and the insulated case has protected it from damage.
My only criticism is that you have to remove the iPad from the case in order to charge it and you need a tool, coin or butter knife to turn the mechanism on the back of the case to remove the iPad. It would be nice if something were included that attached to the case.
Maxim Enterprise Inc 8 Way Turn Table
My 6-year old son plays with his trains every day. We got him this turntable a few months ago, and he really loves it! He is able to make infinitely more complex tracks, since he can connect them into eight points. He really loves this turntable and so do I, as it has really challenged him to be more creative in working out track layouts that utilize each component of the turntable, and allow the trains to flow smoothly. Other reviewers have noted that only one of the smaller engines will be able to sit and spin on the turntable, which is true, but I don't really think the intention was to have the trains spin on it, rather to allow for a train intersection, which it does perfectly. I only am giving 4 stars for Durability though. Although we truly love this piece, the ball joints have a tendency to fall out and in the 2 months since we've had it, I've had to repair it 3 times. It isn't a big deal (a few drops of wood glue do the trick) but it means the turntable is out of play for a day while it dries and that is no fun.
Buy Maxim Enterprise Inc 8 Way Turn Table Now
For those who are complaining that this piece does not fit the round house..I think you are missing the point. This is a perfect way to cross tracks without a bridge. The trains go straight across.By the way, the Thomas Train roundhouse only handles 2 cars at a time also.
Read Best Reviews of Maxim Enterprise Inc 8 Way Turn Table Here
My kids love this toy.It is much cheaper than a Thomas turntable, but it fits perfectly with the Thomas track.I would definitely recommend it.No matter what you read on any website selling wooden train track, they are not created equal.Unless you are buying the actual Thomas or Brio brands, no other track is 100% compatible nor are they the same size and dimensions of the name brands. The off-brands are either narrower or wider, and thicker or thinner than the name brands. And they don't fit snugly together with the name brands either. All of these issues makes for a bumpy and disjointed travel and derailment for the engines and cars.

Teamson Girls Table and Chairs Set - Magic Garden Room Collection
This is a pretty table, my daughter really loves it and having only two chairs would be accurate given the size of the table.Be sure to read the measurements and you won't be taken by surprise, I actually new what size it would be.My little girl is 6 soon to be 7 in April and she is pretty long (tall) for her age, but still a good fit.I gave a three star because the quality is good but this is the second defected table I received from teamson. The first, which was ordered from Target was missing the stripped under skirt from the table top. This has nothing to do with this Seller, this should have been checked by quality control within Teamson. Now this table is in pretty good shape but it does have a few minor scratches on the chairs but the major thing the 4 inch split piece of wood in one of the corners of the table top, with scratches around that area.My daughter would not allow me to send it back so ill keep it for her and just set some glue between the cracks so that it will not spread. The Seller on the other hand was a pleasure to work with, very understanding and considerate and because my table was late arriving the Seller even refunded half the cost of the Table, Which is the real reason I have less of a concern with the corner of the top.I would shop with this seller again as we'll as recommend shopping with them.As fare as Teamson, I've read similar complaints from others on many sights regarding issues of concern with their product care.So all n all be careful with Teamson but if you are going to purchase something from Teamson, then it would probably be best to go through this Seller so at least you'll have them in your corner if there's a problem.

I researched for hours before deciding on buying a table and chairs from Teamson. I'm so glad I went with them. I even called them to ask questions about their products and they were extremely helpful. I imagine if I had any product issues that they'd be great to deal with.I was a tad hesitant due to the price (and only getting two chairs) but they were soooooo cute! Let me tell you... as cute as that picture is.... the real thing is even better. I was just as thrilled as my toddler. I'm so glad we bought them. They were packaged great and easy to assemble. My only potential issue is that the back of the chair is a bit heavy (this is good in that it's a quality product) but if your child leans back it could topple over. (it would not topple back with normal sitting but if the child pushes back in it, and it's on carpet and snagged, it could topple easily.) To remedy this, we have the chair designated for my toddler (at least for now as she learns how to use it well) to be backed up against her little toddler sofa chair (you could use a wall or the side of your couch, whatever). It still leaves room for her to get in and out. We also sometimes butt two of the chairs up against each other, making it into a little bench and giving her more "seat" real estate. Then, again, it's backed up to her toddler (faux) leather arm sturdy chair which serves as the back to her little wood chair/make shift bench. Hope that all makes sense.
What does that also mean though? We need to buy the remaining two chairs. Happy to do so. After all, mommy and daddy need a place to sit (gently of course hoping it holds our weight they seem very strong and sturdy though. Husband said it should be no problem). And, when it's time for tea parties, our girl needs the chairs for her dollies.
I want to reiterate the beauty of these products. I'm beyond happy with them. I ordered the stool for the bathroom and the toy chest, too, now that I've seen the quality. I'm waiting for those to arrive. Next week!
OH! And lastly! They make many different designs and recently came out with dinosaurs! :) I'd advise checking their website for all of the different options and then coming back to Amazon to purchase for Prime free shipping (if applies) and better pricing overall.

Toysmith Zen Garden
I just received this today and while I knew to expect nothing hand crafted, I was shocked at how amazingly flimsy this thing really is. The bottom wood actually came with a huge crack; big enough to leak out all the sand. The feet were glued on with cheap glue and 3 of the 4 came off in transit. Based on the construction, I'm amazed it was even in one piece.
The reason this gets 2 stars is that the accessories are pretty decent. And the sand looks fine. If this wasn't cracked in the center, I'd most likely have kept it and it would have "worked" for its purpose. Having said that, if you are looking for a desktop zen garden, look elsewhere.I tend to stress out a bit so my husband bought me this for my office as a stress reliever.I love it! It is a great way to zone out for a little while.

The reviews of this product describing a horrible quality product are unusually accurate, I learned the hard way.The bottom of the wooden box was almost completely loose right out of the box, and you can't just snap the staples back into the holes in the wood because it won't stay. If you leave it that way, the sand will seep out of the bottom as quickly as you pour it in.I had to run to Wal-Mart on Christmas eve and buy very tiny nails and tack the wooden bottom back on with a hammer. The bottom line is that if you can choose a different zen garden, you should.Want Toysmith Zen Garden Discount?

7 Wonders Game
The game's core mechanic is similar to deck drafting from collectible card games, where you get a hand of cards, pick one, and then pass your cards to your neighbor. The difference is in 7 Wonders you play the card you choose immediately. This is great because it means the play speed is brisk and the game can play seven people about as fast as it can play three, a trait rarely found in board games.
The game features a tremendous amount of variety because, along with the cards being shuffled and different each game, you can play one of 14 different wonders (7 wonders plus an alternate version of each on the back) that can seriously adjust your strategy and how you try to win the game.
A feeling that comes from the game is the sense of progress and power as you build the city and your wonder using the cards that you choose. Each of the cards represents a building that your constructing in your city. Some demonstrate scientific achievement, military might, or economic opportunity. One cool ability is that some buildings allow you to build other buildings for free, making you feel smart that you built the first building.
This is a great game you'll play a lot, and the cards, while beautiful, are thin and easily damaged. It's wise to get some sleeves to protect them if you don't want it to wear out.Positives: Great Strategy, very few luck factors, plays for both large parties and down to 2. AND RUN TIME IS only 30 MINUTES!
For hard core game players, a 2 hour game is doable. But for the average sit down and enjoy a semi-competitive game, a 2 hour game is a killer. It's rare that you will find a quality strategic game with multiple winning variants that you can finish in under an hour, much less 30 minutes. It's almost too quick. Almost. I would certainly buy an expansion pack if they had one... in fact that is probably the only downside to the game right now... I want some more of IT!
Cons: No expansion pack is available for round 4. ...Just in case we have some board gaming friends that want a little more of a beating. =)
I would rate this in my top 10 list of games for sure. And for games under an hour, this one takes 1st place.
But don't mind me, I am just a pest control guy.
-ThomasPlayed this with a bunch of folks who are really into Race for the Galaxy and Dominion, among many other board games. Scales well up to 7 people. And it's not hard to teach. Those who aren't as much into gaming and strategy can still enjoy themselves while those who are very into strategy are also challenged.
Agree with one review that mentions sleeves might be nice since the cards put into play depends on how many players are in the game which may mean some cards get a lot more wear. Cards don't seem to be of a "standard" size, but Mayday games is making a sleeve that has come out in Dec 2010.

Confession of a board game addict:I can't put 7 Wonders down.
The time estimate of 30 minutes for this game is fairly accurate for a 3 player game, I can easily imagine a 7 player game stretching out to 45 minutes.Either way, that makes it a much easier choice than most of its peers, which average 2 hours and beyond.7 Wonders has an excellent depth of strategy that should satisfy all ages, yet it can be played (once familiar with the rules) at a fairly brisk pace, which creates a good mix of fast paced excitement and deep thought.
With that, let's get into the Pros and Cons:
Pros:
Time Requirement As above, probably the aspect that contributes the most to this game's widespread appeal.
Depth Striking the right balance between military, commerce, science, cultural and resource development is extremely complex and the "right" balance changes constantly as you react to your opponents' plans.
Materials I think the comments about the durability of the cards are overstated.I don't believe they are any more or less durable than a standard deck of playing cards. The wonder boards are very sturdy, and the built in card storage decks are a nice touch as well. Also appreciate the thick stack of scoring pads included.
Innovation the free building rule adds an interesting twist to the strategy that rewards players for focusing on a particular type of development (military, commerce, science, cultural) an option that adds a certain "race to the finish" aspect and prevents the balanced approach from being the only successful one.
Cons:
THE RULE BOOK is very poorly written, as attested to by the ample amount of "oops, we have been playing it wrong" threads that a quick Google search of reveals. Some will no doubt appreciate the very succint rule book, and handy reference sheets but the fact remains that it is very easy to miss key rules of the game because they are hidden in a footnote on an illustration, or not included in the main rules at all, but only on the card description sheet.I had to re-read the rule book (and additional sheets) multiple times before I (think) corrected all the errors we were making.I for one would have appreciated a longer, but more thorough rule book that explains the rules in detail, though I'm sure this was done intentionally as there is a significant market share that finds larger rule books daunting.
Add-ons the Leaders expansion (a separate product) doesn't really add much to the game other than unnecessary complexity in my opinion. On the other hand, the game didn't need an expansion to begin with.
Pick 7 Wonders up without reservation it's a blast.Add on Leaders if you feel like it, but it's hardly necessary to enjoy the game.
This game is great because it combines so many of the good aspects of Euro games but doesn't take forever to play.
Much like the concept of a gateway drug leading to the use of harder substances (which is probably mostly a myth designed to keep our liberty-destroying drug laws on the books), one can hope that this will help ease your friends and family members toward the more hardcore games you love like Agricola or the Catan: Cities and Knights Game Expansion of the classic The Settlers of Catan.
I don't know if it actually works that way, but I have definitely had success with it as an introduction to Euro games for people who had never heard of them before.
It has the whole "should I try for a balanced strategy or go all in on one or two areas" thing, along with the "I can build thing X now, or abandon this chance to build X in favor of accumulating the ability to generate resource Y, and hope that something better than X comes along later" dilemmas...on practically every move...and also the "is it more important for me to do something to gain myself points, or should I worry more in this instance about making sure my opponent can't get this resource" dynamic.
Another great thing about it is that there are 14 different starting positions you can be assigned to work with for that game (7 wonders times 2 sides for each wonder), and, while they don't dictate your strategy, they suggest certain strategies. But the success of your strategy, whatever you pick, is going to depend on what other people do, what resources your opponents are picking, and so on.I see so much potential for planning and playing offensively and defensively and keeping track of what the other players are needing and choosing and doing, that I don't think we will get bored with this for a long, long time.
When you add to that the fact that you can play it in half an hour, it's mind blowing that such a thing is even possible.
I agree with other people that would like to see a fourth age expansion, or maybe an "age 2.5" between the second and final (since I think the guild cards, etc still really need to be at the end) to make it a little longer. But I think if you want it longer you could just play one round, then have everyone pass their wonder one space to the right and play a second game, seeing who does best overall and who does best against the other person who had that wonder last time.
But I digress.
Short version: if you want something that both hardcore gamers can love, and people completely uninitiated to the euro game universe can pick up quickly enough and enjoy as well, this is the game.
