Ok I'm the spoil sport on this bear. It arrived today and, taking it out of the box, my initial reaction was disappointment. On the plus side, the swirly fur is cute, and it seems soft and pleasingly plump.But it's eyes are IMO too close together and too small. There are partially obscured by fur. In short, it looks a little beady-eyed, to me. Its nose is formed by a bunch of shiny brown thread, which is (again, IMO) distracting. You look at the eyes then the nose. The mouth on this particular bear (maybe it was different for the others who reviewed it) is covered by fur.I tried smoothing it down but that didn't help.I don't want to get out the scissors first thing and start trimming bits of fur here and there to see if that helps any.There's probably a whole science of what makes stuffed animals appealing to kids (eyes, nose and mouth?) but I think this one misses the mark.Btw, I don't think its anywhere near as cute as the picture. That one definitely has had some "work" done.
