How much can one really say about a ball scoop? Plenty. This thing is awesome. I've got a variety of nets laying around my table tennis venue, but this is the tool my eye always seeks out first. It is quick, efficient, and downright fun. Yes, I said fun. A strange satisfaction is perceived every time I capture a ball, and no longer must I concentrate on good net technique. Remember Whack-a-Mole? This is the table tennis equivalent. And it even allows me to get greedy while ball hunting, whereas a full net is always risky as you attempt to scoop just 'one more ball'.

Sure you could make one yourself, but why bother? For not much more than the cost of a net you can be having almost as much fun collecting balls as you do playing table tennis. I expect to see foreign clones of this ingenious device cropping up, but stick with the original. You won't be disappointed!

This is a great concept, but I just can't see how seller justifies $45 for this. All it is is just a restrung and bent badminton racket with a net attached.

At my local Daiso Japan store, a pair of cheap badminton racket with a birdie cost $1.50. It is packaged in a net that can be cut and used as two nets to make the basket. So basically, $1.50 gets you a DIY kit for TWO of these. Bending and restringing and attaching the net takes maybe 30-40 mins. Then there's maybe a little extra cost if you to attach a PVC pipe for extension.

I like this item a lot. It's easier on my back now for picking up balls and makes me want to train longer on my game because of that. When releasing the ball from its net, it sometimes doesn't want to release the last few balls left, but otherwise, make life easier in the game of ping pong! Thanks ping pong buddy!

This is one of those rare new inventions that leaves you spell bound at how magically it works. I was skeptical until I saw the youtube video. I had to admit it looked pretty effective so I bought this for our office ping pong table. Balls are scattered all over the room, and it used to be a chore to go around picking them up. That has completely changed. This is the ultimate ping pong ball picker upper and we can pick up all the balls in under a minute. First it picks up the balls, and then you turn it upside down and all the balls come neatly out the other end into whatever bucket you are using to collect them. It is simply fantastic, and I can't recommend it highly enough. Well worth every penny. The poster who thinks it would be better to make their own has no idea what they are talking about. Maybe they make minimum wage and can afford to spend hours making crappy versions of great products, but I would think a normal person would rather just spend the time playing ping pong.
