15 in 1 Wooden Game Center with Favorite Classic Games

A relative gave the "15 in 1 WOODEN GAME CENTER"as a gift for my kids for Christmas.The labeling uses the words "WOOD" and "CLASSIC," and it's neither.We opened the box to find the laminated particle-board table-top crushed at two corners.The "wooden" box containing 2 additional game boards and a drawer for the pieces had fallen apart and needs to be repaired.I'm not sure how a glued-together particle board game set can be considered "classic."The damage is not a result of shipping, by the way, as the cardboard container is in perfect condition, and it was shipped with other far more fragile items that arrived intact.Additionally, the top playing surface feels like it is going to fall off one good tug and it would be easily removed.The pictures of the game set on the box gives you the impression of a sturdy solid enclosed wooden box, when in fact it is painted particle board and feels wobbly and cheap.It is not enclosed on the bottom, which is unpainted particle board with sharp corners that can easily scratch a table surface.I'm not sure how the manufacturer and distributor of this game expects a glued-together wooden box to survive a trip across the Pacific on a container ship and then actually played with without falling apart!Let me answer the question they can't!Which begs the question of why this game set is sold on Amazon or in any store!

The game pieces are cheap plastic, and the playing cards aren't even full sized!The checkers are smaller than Rolaids, and they're BROWN, not even red and white.The mancala board is ridiculously small and makes it impossible to play.It's a great idea, and the dimensions are nice, and we actually enjoy playing the games included (checkers, chess, mancala, backgammon), but once again my 6and 8-year-old kids are disappointed by yet another gift manufactured in China that is literally just a piece of junk manufactured in the absolute cheapest way.It puts me in the position of being ungrateful to my mother "Hey thanks for the thoughtful Christmas gift, but it's a complete piece of junk!"

Recommendation:avoid!

I bought this for my 7 year old. While he thinks the wooden box and games are great, they are really of poor quality. For example, the chinese checker balls are so little and hard to use, the actual checker patterns are uneven and make it hard to jump from one move to the next. Overall, fine for a 7 year old but not a great item.

I bought two of these. One for myself and then for a friend. We both share a passion for games and thought this would make a great gift. I took mine out of the box and on one of the games the paint wasn't even and it was scratched. The draw and the other boards don't slide in and out easy and as you go to push the board in if you are not careful it gets more scratched up and the paint will come off.

When I first took mine out of the box there were white flecks all over, I now realize it is paint from the board.

Some of the parts for this game is very small. I am really surprised on how small some of the parts are and am very disappointed in that. I am also shocked about how small some of the playing cards are for the game, makes them difficult to hold.

I also understand that some of these game pieces will be easily lost because of how small they are.

I gave it 2 stars because I don't hate it and I don't love it either.

Hi, first I would like to say that I LOVE amazon!!! I have NEVER had a problem with any of my several orders in the past years. This is my first. I bought the product because my family and I love board games and we are in need of a new set. I thought "hey 15 of our favorite games all in a nice wooden box for only 35(ish) bucks, Heck Ya!" I ordered it for Thanksgiving and the shipping and delivery was wonderful. My husband opened the box and exclaimed "why did you buy this piece of crap that a blind homeless person made?" He is not far from the truth... as the pictures I posted show, there are numerous things wrong with this set and I would NOT pay 5 bucks, much less 35 (ish) for it. The bottom is made a cardboard section, the railings on the second row had broken and fallen off. The top paint was scratched all over and the sides looked like it had water damage (particle board, not wood). The shelves didn't even lay flush when trays were fully closed. Oh and the corner piece on the bottom had fallen off as well. I almost forgot to mention the red (hopefully NOT BLOOD) stains on the Chinese checker board... GROSS! The worst part, I believe, was that the box clearly read "12 games", not only had I ordered the 15 game set, there was a label on the bottom which said it was a "15 game set" I mean WTH!? The ONLY good things about this set was the game pieces where actually correct in size, ironically the only thing I was truly worried about when ordering this set...SMH. Also, the advertised picture is pretty, WHERE IS THAT GAME?! (mine didnt even come in that box)

I don't think Amazon.com should sell this product from this vendor. It gives it a BAD reputation for buying things online.

I will be returning this product first thing in the morning!

Its awesome I like all the games, some I have never played,but learning how,The only thing I did wrong was through the original box away, and I didn't know how to set up the backgamon board set-up, you needed the box to show you how to set-up the game,I just looked online for the set-up

but all-in-all its a nice game center.
