I encourage other buyers to call Green Cupboards about this. This is the email I responded when they cancelled their items due to 'extreme price discrepancy'I am very concerned by this email because of its qualification of 'bait and switch' marketing. It seems highly unlikely that you made pricing errors on 5 different items in your store. Understandably, you could commit an error and then issue a rain check for that product. But to make a mistake on 5 items that is in no way a transposition error. A transposition error is when a computer or accountant should have written 880 but accidentally wrote 88 (leaving off the final zero).
It seems your company used the bait-and-switch to bring in customers to your store so that they may see your other substitute products that are higher priced. By not honoring the original price listed you may be subject to lawsuit for false advertising.
In my individual case my mother bought a kitchen from you for my daughter and I bought a table/chair set. What is unusual for my purchase is: the table set was sold out. But about an hour later it was reposted as not in stock until December 10th. That is when I placed the order. Now my question is, how did your computers not notice the supposed pricing error but rather you realized you had more stock beginning as of December 10th? If this was truly a pricing error why would you try and generate more sales an hour after this item was listed out of stock?
I am very eager to hear your response of my multiple questions. This has happened before with other companies such as JCP and once they were threatened with lawsuits they honored the price such as seen here:
