Monsterpocalypse Collectible Miniature Game Starter Set

This starter comes with one monster and it's Ultra form, four units, two buildings, a map, life counter, dice and rulebook. For $25, you are getting a good value, as one monster/ Hyper runs $13 and a unit booster with four random units and a building is also $13. You will probably need another starter, which is a good thing because it will give you additional dice and another map, plus another monster and more units.

The game itself is great: Giant monsters smahing each other across a cityscape.The game has basic rules which will allow younger (6-8) players to have fun with it, but it is the advanced rules that make it shine. There are some pretty complex strategis to be employed, most often concerning with the game's "dice economy" system.

As for drawbacks, the big one for the starter set is lack of buildings: 2 is not nearly enough to fully experience the game in all of it's bonecrunching action and city leveling mayhem (I'd say eight buildings is minimum). I would have liked another unit included as well, but that is me.

All in all, this is a great game, and the Starter is the ideal way to get introduced to it.

My brother wanted to get into this game, as it appealed to his love of classic monster movies.

The starter set contains 1 (randomly picked) Monster and an alternate form of same monster needed to play.Each starter set contains the same 4 units (smaller models) and the same 2 buildings.

In addition to this the set contains the rules, the dice, the playing surface, and other bits and pieces needed to play the game.

In general you are going to need to start buying booster packs in order to play competitively.My brother and I each picked up the starter and a booster and have had some pretty competative games.I can see, however, where people will easily spends hundreds of dollars to collect everything they want.If you look at it like a board game, you are going to spendbucks to play a tooled down version of it.

It's fun, but if you can't leave well enough alone and like to min-max you are going to spend some serious money.Myself, I'm happy with a few monsters and a few buildings and several evenings of games.

Great fun, it came across as a throwback to the old Godzilla movies.If you're into the kaiju genre this is definately the game for you!

I bought this mostly for myself, as a miniatures wargame, but it is also fun for my son, who is 4, but loves the playing pieces.A great game for a quick bit of fun, plus with cool collectible miniatures.The miniatures are a bit fragile... my 2 year old daughter got a hold of one and after smashing it against the table a few times managed to get a piece loose, but it super glued right back on.A great purchase.

I've done nearly all the research that can be done on this game and honestly I don't see how they can sell it at these prices, more than 60 % off retail value is amazing and even though I'm all set to start I may just buy more because the price is unbeatable.
