The sea dogs are for a miniature game. I don't know why Amazon classifies them as a toy. . . they're game pieces and models, so I guess they're educational value would be for strategy and tactics. Maybe even Victorian naval stereotypes. Because they're pewter figures glued together, they are by no means durable. They should be hand painted and handled with care afterwards.Anyway, the purchase excellent.
