This powerloc roadbed track is a great track for kids and beginners. For the kids the no joiner Assembly makes grades, or hills easier to make, they also wont fall apart like the Bachmann E-Z track if there picked up with-out separating them. They can also get very dirty and still work well. I recommend the nickle silver for modelers. I recommend the steel(The one thats Black, not Grey) for the kids because its cheap and easily replaceable if broken, or stepped on(ouch!). This is the first inner circle by-the-way you can create two running circles of track with the 22" radius track to simulate a double track line(also allows two trains to run at once all-be-it on separate tracks). If your looking for good model quality track I suggest Atlas roadbed track.

I have found that once connected, unconnecting is a real pain and often results in broken track.I have decided to go with the E-Z track.I have a lot of the old "standard" style track and it works much better with the E-Z track as I do not need the converters that you need with the Power Loc track.I did break one Power-Loc track while initially putting it together so be sure to do it on a level surface and do NOT try to force it.The one thing good about the track is that if you know you are not going to modify your lay out in a particular area for quite sometime then this is an easy track to clean as it will not disconnect as easily as the standard and the E-Z track will also slip apart from track to track a little. But I kind of like that as I have two lay outs, 1 out side and 1 in my man cave that are on the ground so prone to be stepped on or kicked and the flexibility of the standard or E-Z track will resist breakage.I will most likely take what Power-Loc track I have and move it to my table top layout.
