American Plastic Toy Water Wheel Play Table

American Plastic Toy Water Wheel Play TableMy three year old is a rambunctious water bug.He loves to splash in his pool, run in the sprinklers, and play outside. All of those things end up expending a lot of energy in the long run but also creating a very hyper boy that requires winding down after those activities. This water table gives him the freedom to be outdoors and play with water but he doesn't get nearly as wild with it.He takes his time to play with the boats and brings some of his other water toys to play with it.

I like that it isn't round because it tucks away nicely in the corner of the patio when it's not in use.It has enough space for two kids to play together with it. Perhaps three if they share nicely.

The materials the legs are made with are not solid pieces of plastic and so it can be a bit flimsier than some of the other water tables on the market. However, I don't feel it is in danger of tipping over (although I wouldn't recommend allowing your child to climb up on it.)I like that it is made in America and is for an affordable price. Cheapest water table on the market and quality doesn't suffer.

I also love that there isn't a plug on this table (to drain the water)some might find this to be a negative, but I often find that those plugs simply cause the water to leak out before anyone wants it to.The table has a deep enough section that when summer and warm weather are over I'll be able to convert this to an indoor table and use it for a 'sensory box' and put rice in it and bury items for my kids to sift through. It's a great little table and activity center.

Could it be bigger?Sure.Could it be more solid? Yes.Is it worth the price point.Absolutely! Is it safe? Yes.Does my son love it?YES! Would I recommend it?Indeed I would.

**UPDATED 04/2013**We have now owned this product for nearly 2 years. It has held up to outdoor weather, sun, and two toddlers and all components are still in equally as good of quality as when originally purchased.

This is an inexpensive toy and it's made in the USA so that is a plus. The only downside to this toy is the water wheel. It is defective. If you pour water into it from either end it just splatters all over and the wheel doesn't spin. We tried adding vegetable oil to the connectors hoping it would spin better. It did, but still not enough to keep the water from splashing all over the place. If you just want it for the water table fun it's worth it.And actually in the picture they have sand on that side so maybe it is only meant for sand use.Seems like the sand would just get into the water though.

My almost two year old son is always asking for "more" time with this table. We only use it with water outside. It is of perfect height for my little guy and will be great for a while. It is not the best plastic, but hey...its for toddlers and it holds up for what we need it for.Great price, great product and best of all: Made is the USA!

we recently bought this for our niece's 1st birthday and it was absolutley the right choice.it stands at the perfect height for her as she has recently gained the ability to pull herself up to stand and walk around while holding onto something.it is super durable plastic no little parts or rough edges.when she first saw it she let out her loudest yell of joy and splashed around until she was reluctantly taken back inside.all in all a great gift idea for an infant!!!

Want American Plastic Toy Water Wheel Play Table Discount?

My baby is only 11 months, but I knew we'd want a sand/water table down the road. I wasn't going to spend $40-50 on a plastic tub with legs, unless I could be certain it is something she'd just love and play with all the time. For now, we love it as a Mega Bloks table. We'll likely try the sand and water in the Summer.

She has not tipped it, or tried to climb on top of it. Watch your kids and those things won't happen, no offense. Once assembled, I could not pull the wheel tower apart when I tried, so no way could my baby accidentally break it apart by spinning the wheels. Sure, it could tip over because it isn't attached and just sits on top of the table, but unless the unit is defective or not put together properly, it will not just break apart as one reviewer seemed to claim. Maybe a leg could fall off if dragged when heavy with sand/water, but I've not had any issue like that and would likely pick it up and move it and not drag it, anyway. I'm not trying to pick apart reviews, I just don't want people thinking this table will just keep falling apart on them when that just isn't the case. The pieces lock in firmly. I can't pull them apart when I try to. It's just not THAT flimsy.

It uses much less plastic than the Lil' Tykes versions, but it still functions. For the price, it is a good table that will do the job. If you don't care about brands, or you want to get a cheap table to see if they like it before investing in a bigger table, or you want a table for indoors, this is the one to go with.
