We bought this train for my 4 year old for Christmas.On Christmas Eve we tried to setthetrain up so it would be running when he woke up the next morning.The train was very hard to set up and we never got more than 2 cars to run with the engine.Any more than that and it quit going around the track.This is more of a hobby train and less of a kid's toy.It also said you need to oil the tracks occasionally and let it run for hours after set up to break it in.We ended up leaving it on all night.Our son was excited about it, but once he realized how hard it was to play with, it's spent a lot of time in his toy box.Actually, he likes to pull the train, without using the tracks, along our hardwood floors, and that works great!
