This is a great toy for train loving kids, a great upgrade as your child grows out of the wooden version.It has also proven to be a useful way to teach him how to be careful with something.It is not fragile, but nowhere near as durable (obviously) as the wooden (Brio) Thomas trains & accessories, and requires more care and attention.

Useful bit of info: this set only has enough track for a (pretty boring) oval.If you want to expand it, you need to know which color ez-track comes in the set (Bachman EZ track comes in two colors: black and grey roadbed).None of the pictures or descriptions I was able to find told that: it's the black roadbed.This is a bit of a disadvantage, and my only complaint, as the number of expansion options from bachmann for the black roadbed are much more limited than for the grey.I don't know why.

It was fun while it lasted, and the E-Z track is, indeed, very easy.However, the HO electric train engine stopped working within 1 day of use. I disassembled the engine and found that the electric motor housing is plastic, and with the heat from prolonged use, the housing melted and warped to the point that the motor would not longer run. The instructions warn against prolonged use and state that "you will extend the mechanical life of your train by not running it for prolonged periods...", but tell that to an excited child who wants to run it constantly.The durability of this toy is poor.

This is a beautiful Thomas the Tank Engine set. It comes with his coaches Annie and Clairabel. It also has Sir Tophamm Hatt and Harold. Thomas's face looks just like the Thomas on PBS. My grandson loved opening this present on Christmas.

My Nephew liked the Train. He's 4 years old, and never had anything this cool, as far as Train Sets.It's kinda Pricey.And you only get enough track for an oval.That get's somewhat old after a short while.But, it definately made an impression on him at Christmas time.

When train got delivered set was missing wire from control box to track making it unusuable. I contacted Creative Toys & Hobbies customer service and they eventually found one for me, but they couldn't get it till after Christmas. I believe the Customer Service rep's name was Josh. I also believe he went beyond what I would call normal customer service to try and get me this part. To the point that he took a picture of the cable and e-mailed it to me to be sure it was the correct item. The Bachmann Thomas train set was to say the least fair quality. I serves it's need for a 6 yr old. I would buy again from Creative Toys & Hobbies I like their attitude.
