Crayola Trace 'N Draw Projector Deluxe

Crayola Trace 'N Draw Projector DeluxeI purchased this for my son, he saw it on TV and HAD to have it.It looked fun so I bought it...after about 10 minutes the light went out!I know it's not the bulb or the batteries...it's the connection inside where the bulb sits...I messed around with it and got it to work...for about another 10 minutes...DON'T waste your money on this one folks!

When you think Crayola...don't always think quality.Very disspointed with this purchase.

My son received this for his 5th birthday.Upon opening the package, you come to realize that it doesn't come with a single marker or eraser. For the [$$$] charged for this item, I feel it certainly should. Therefore, my son was really upset that he couldn't use his new gift, until I was able to get out to the store and spend additional money on markers. The instructions don't even tell you which type of markers to use.Is it the washable ones, the dry erase ones?what?

Secondly, the bulb burned out after about 10 seconds.I sent an e-mail to the manufacturer, telling them of our extreme disappointment in this product.Their response was:"we'll send you a couple of replacement bulbs".BIG DEAL.I used to associated the name Crayola with quality, but my view has certainly changed now.

This product is a good idea, but it needs ALOT of work.Basically, it's a [$$$] piece of plastic.

I was really surprised to read all the reviews ... something I usually do before I buy a product but since this toy was a gift for my 4yo daughter I hadn't read any of them.I was surprised to read so many negative comments.

This toy is new to Australia so I wonder if Crayola have changed manufacturer or taken note of complaints and improved the design.

We have not had any problems with our bulbs (and a spare bulb was included in the box)2 months down the track.I must admit I found assembling the projector a bit awkward but once it's done you don't have to do it again.

I think it's an excellent toy and my daugther loves it.We don't use it the whiteboard though but go through reams of paper using the clip attached to the drawing board. My daughter (and younger sister who is 3) love the novelty of tracing the image onto the paper then colouring it.I think it's excellent for hand eye co-ordination and their pencil holding skills.Their father and I have had a go, as have other adult relatives and we were suprised at just how difficult it can be to follow that black projected line of the image. It really does help the girls with their writing skills.

The drawing board does slip off sometimes but we rectified that with just putting some blu-tack on to prevent it slipping.

The girls have had lots of fun with it already and I have so many pictures of the images displayed around the house I'm desprately waiting for Crayola to bring out some new discs so we can have some different images displayed.

I would recommend it.

I had a bad feeling about this "toy" when I saw it-but my kids were BEGGING me for it so profusely(because of those cheezy tv ads)-how could I refuse. I broke down and bought it......and then it broke down. Aside from the fact that the tracer light needs to be adjusted constantly because it gets out of focusthe light bulb is a battery vampire-it is soooo cheaply made-the light head needs constant tightening because it keeps dropping down while in use. STAY AWAY FROM THIS THING NO MATTER WHAT SWEET PUPPY EYES YOUR KIDS MAKE AT YOU-they will thank you later, and you will do much of the same.
