I found this set yesterday on clearance, and was unsure if I was getting a great deal.According to this price, yes!I have wanted to get my son elevation tracks for a while, but couldn't see spending so much for so little. With this set, you get a lot of tracks.Plus, a train with controller and an additional train that you push.I love the bridge! It has a gate that goes up and down and a little guard shack as well!We have lots of tracks already for this system, so we immediately started building tracks that went over what was there. It adds another dimension to your playing!Would I reccomend this product...absolutely!But watch your prices.Like I said, found it on clearance for under $50!I paid less than $50 for this around black Friday last year ('09). My son was only 15 months when he got it for Christmas, and he loved it! He was able to move the remote handle to control the train going around the track, and now that he's 2, he loves taking the train on and off the track. If he wasn't still in a crib, I would probably find him sleeping on it. I highly recommend one of these remote controlled GeoTrax systems as a perfect starter train set!We bought this for our grandson when he was 4 after first buying a lego train set that was way too advanced for him to put together. He is now 5 and still loves it and is getting good at configuring the tracks different ways. I am sure it will keep him entertained a few more years until he is ready for an advanced train set. It is very well made and we have not had one part break.
The great thing about this brand is you can buy several different GeoTrax sets or extra tracks and put them all together. The possibilities are endless. With a couple of engines to run, more than one child can play at a time. Grandpa and grandson have spent many hours just building crazy configurations.
The downside is the speed of the trains are too slow and we really go through the batteries. Wish Fisher Price would take into consideration how boys at this age like "things that go fast".
Highly recommend!
