The cons: it's expensive. I got mine at a great sale price and I'm not sure I would say this is worth the retail price. It's made of plastic, so there is a bit of an unstable, hollow kind of feel to it. I would have loved the house were made of wood instead. Most of the house comes assembled but there are pieces you have to snap onto the house like the front porch, the window boxes and the roof railing, and unfortunately all of these pieces come off very easily. I wish they snapped more securely in we may even glue them in to make it more sturdy for play. You also don't get anything but the house no furniture, no critters, even though each room has a space to put in a light in the ceiling you only get one with the house.
In general I think this house and Calico Critters are meant for children who can be gentle as the pieces can be fragile. I wouldn't expect this house to stand up to rough play. It's a beautiful home to look at and goes well with the Calico feel, but I wish the materials and workmanship were a little more reflective of the high price.
Just an FYI to other parents purchasing this as a gift... every single thing we have ever ordered from Amazon (which is 50+ items/year) ALWAYS comes in a standard brown cardboard box... EXCEPT this Calico Critters Cloverleaf Manor. As such, my daughter saw the UPS man walking up the driveway with the box proudly displaying what was inside. So sad as this was supposed to be a "Santa gift"! I have no complaints otherwise, I just wanted to let other parents know to possibly have it delivered to a neighbor's house if you plan for it to be a surprise!

Product came undamaged and was in perfect condition.Mailing was efficient and purchase was confidential and secure.I was absolutely satisfied with the purchase and my nine year old daughter was thrilled on Christmas morning!
This manor is so much fun!! Our eleven year old son and our fourteen year old daughter even play with the Manor under supervision, of course from our nine year old daughter.I also love to play, at 47 years old. I know that it is expensive, but once you see the size and sturdiness of the Manor, you will understand the cost.We found this item more "family building" than the Wii System.
Thank you so much!!!

The Calico Critters Cloverleaf Manor is huge and impressive looking.Grandma gave it to our 5-yo daughter for Christmas and the look on her face was worth every penny. I admit that I have been very much against plastic dollhouses, but since this was a gift, I decided to check it out before I passed judgment. Daughter has two other dollhouses that are wood and very sturdy, this one, however, was tailor-made for her beloved Calico Critters. It is very deep, which is good for fitting in a number of furniture sets, which I have to admit the other houses do not. I have included a photo of it on the Calico Critters Play Table. It just fits folded up, to open it and play you have to remove it from the table. I would not purchase it for a younger child, as it is after all plastic, but with reasonable care, a 5yo should be able to play with it and have fun. Very pretty dollhouse! I do not have the front porch attached in the picture, and the plants that are included are not shown in the picture; those are wooden cacti from my son's Papo Fort Rattlesnake. At the time that I bought this (Dec. 12, 2009) Amazon's amount was eighty less than that at TRU, and even though it is slightly higher on Amazon right now, it is still the best amount around. Can't beat the 2-day FREE shipping of Amazon Prime! When I was little, I just died for the Sylvanian Families of the 70's, but never got any. Now my daughter has the absolute best there is and I couldn't be happier!!PS: I REALLY appreciated a previous reviewer who mentioned that the box has the photo of the toy on the outside. That heads upplus the Prime shipping which allowed me to pinpoint EXACTLY which day it was coming allowed me to arrange for an after-school activity until the delivery came and I could whisk it away before she came home from school. Thanks, reviewer! My daughter loves Calico Critters.I was stuck trying to decide between the clover leaf manor and the Tree house. Both look great in pictures but honestly, pictures do not do these products justice. I hate to spend alot of money on doll houses because they look so cheap.Calico Critter stuff is expensive but when you see the items in person you can tell right away that they are not cheap. The manor and the tree house are both well worth every penny. They look amazing and they are built well.I purchased the manor over the tree house because the manor has 9 rooms which my daughter would like better since she is all about furnishing rooms and accessories. The tree house only had 4 rooms.I may still get the tree house for her on another occasion but for now we got the Manor. Its awesome. I highly recommend this house.I only paid $200 for it and it really looks like a $200 doll house.I know it will last long and my daughter loves it.Im amazed at her imagination. She can play with this house quietly for hours!
