Educo All Season Dollhouse - Furnished

I researched many wooden dollhouses before deciding on this one for my children.It is a GORGEOUS dollhouse that is easy to assemble and is interactive (kids can flip over the roof from winter to spring, pull at the hallway hanging lights, move around staircases and the balcony, etc.) The included furniture is modern, stylish, detailed and come with textiles (i.e. rugs) that dress up the floors. There is also a "basement"-like space under the kitchen that is useful for storing extra dolls, etc.

My children preferred the aesthetics of this one (since it was shaped more like a "house") than that of the Plan Toys Chalet one (which, although also gorgeous, was harder to relate to as a "house" for my younger toddler).

Things I would have liked to know prior to purchasing this dollhouse:

1)It does NOT come with a dining table, so if your children want their dolls to sit down together for a meal, you must purchase the table separately.

2)We also purchased separately the matching Educo kids' bedrooms (the one with bunkbeds, rocket ship toy, rocking chair, etc. and a separate nursery set) to complete the house. The official Educo website is a good resource to see all possible matching furniture sets.

3)The Educo modern dolls are perfectly proportioned for this house & included furniture. Those Educo dolls are slightly smaller in scale than the dolls from Plan Toys and Ryan's Room (as we discovered after purchasing dolls from all 3 manufacturers). Ditto with the furniture we found furniture from Plan Toys to be bigger (& off scale) than that of Educo; my kids don't mind however the slight difference in scale, and furniture from those other manufacturers work fine in the dollhouse space otherwise.

I researched *many* wooden dollhouses for my three-year-old daughter, including Plan Toys, Ryan's Room, various Melissa & Doug models, and Maxim (we ordered and returned the last one). This dollhouse got high reviews from other parents, and I know why: it's very easy to assemble, durable, beautiful, and best of all, my daughter plays with it for up to two hours at a time (that's what she's doing right now while I write this review). Parents, if not the kids, will appreciate the little details--a light fixture, rugs, cabinets that open and close, etc. The design is gender-neutral, so my five-year-old son also plays with it, and the open design means they don't fight over it because both can access rooms at the same time. I also like the handle at the top so I can move it from room to room for her. To round out the dollhouse, we also bought the Educo Modern dining room, the kids' room, and the Melissa & Doug Wooden Family Doll Set, which is scaled correctly for the Educo dollhouse.

I'm glad we spent the extra money on this particular dollhouse. The extra money translates to ease of assembly (some Maxim reviews complained about this), great customer service, and more detailed furniture. Worth the money!

I bought this for my daughter for her 3rd birthday.She love this!My 5 year old son also loves to play with this.I love the face that it is so open.They can both reach their hands inside the house without knocking everything over.The furniture that it comes with is so adorable!I myself could not wait to play with it.Very durable.

I got this for my daughter as a christmas gift. As i try to put it together i have to see that its horrible quality. The slits in the beams that are holding the floors are all wrong and crocket so there is gaps everywhere. Because of that issue now i dont even know how to get the rest of the screws in since there is no way sliding the floors in deep enough. Already put almost 2 hrs into this thing...what a pain!!!
