Setup isn't a 10 minute process however. It might be overwhelming for the mechanically challenged too.The slate is heavy so you'll need burly folks to set the slates in place.
Finally, the felting process takes as long as the building of the table. If done carefully, following instructions (generic instructions I found on the web, not in the box), the end result is spectacular.Ball roll is true even into the pockets.
In summary, if you're looking for a fine piece of furniture as well as a pool table, this isn't for you. However, if you're looking for an affordable pool table that plays as well as the top of the line tables and you're willing to put some sweat equity into it, this is an excellent table for you.I bought this table expecting a hard to move into the house, hard to put together project but it turned out pretty easy. On the eve the table was to arrive by freight, I put an ad on craigslist for a crew to be on standby just in case my friends and I couldn't handle it. It arrived on a truck in 5 boxes with the slate pieces in the bottom box. If you have fears about the 860lb weight tag, don't fret as two of us easily carried the slate pieces one at a time into my living room where it was going to be setup. The delivery driver was nice enough to open the slate box on the truck allowing us to do this.
The setup was pretty straight forward except stage 3 as the pictures in the manual were very primitive. However on the website there was an updated version with a clearer view of how the ball tray fits together. I even set and aligned the slate pieces myself by leaning the slate against the table and lifting it from the bottom onto the table. The printed and online manual didn't go into detail about the felt but a quick google search lead me to many youtube vids on how to do the stretching, stapling, and pockets.
The whole setup took about 3 hours from start to finish. It would have gone quicker if I didn't check the instructions 3x over just to make sure I had it right. My level stayed true all the way until the end... I tightened the leveler feet all the way in step 1 (instead of tightening and loosing 1 full turn) and never looked back.
Playing on this table is perfect... the balls roll true to all pockets... my friends can't believe its a 3 piece slate table put together by an amateur. I highly recommend this table for those on a budget but want a high quality table.

After shopping around abit, I chose the ' Vegas pool table for self & family.Once the table is together, you can appreciate the play. PUTTING it together, with lack of direct instructions, including things like 'how tight for the bolts' etc as there are many using different materials. No instructions for the felt. very lacking directions. But if you have the time to work at it, and are very mechanically inclinedwith the right tools, it can be done alone. I just finished assembling one complete.the (3) 1" slates are approx. 150# each & you need to physically lift each onto the table. One man CAN do this but surely not recommended.
Enjoy.
