I'm sorry the previous reviewer had problems with customer service, but it's a shame for this product to have a one-star rating based on the frustration of someone who never even laid eyes on it. So here's the opinion of someone who has actually used the Board Brothers Easel Desk.

I came across this little desk at an office supply store back in August/September, and bought it thinking it would come in handy for homeschooling. It has been a great tool for us! I can sit at the table with the kids and show them math or grammar concepts, as opposed to standing at a distance with a wall board. This is especially nice if, like me, you don't have space for a wall board. An added bonus is that the toddler loves to play with it, which keeps him busy while I'm working with someone else. I came here looking to buy another one in a different color so that he and I wouldn't have to fight each other for it. :)

The inside of the desk has enough storage for a big board eraser (or several) and dozens of markers. It even props open so that you can use the board on a slant. Because it's not TOO easy to open, my youngest can only get to the markers when I allow him. In addition, there are two flaps on the underside which fold out to make a stand which fits comfortably over the lap of a child OR adult, making it simple to use even when travelling in the car. Or if you wish, you can use it to prop up your book for reading in bed.

The only problem I have had with this product is that the dry erase top has developed a wrinkle at the middle bottom of the board where the glue was apparently not applied as well. It is mildly annoying but could probably be fixed if I wanted to make the effort. Since I usually don't write to the bottom, it hasn't been an issue.

I purchased this from Office Max 2 hours ago.My kids seemed to like them.When we got home both of the desks had the wrinkle described in the other review.The wrinkle goes right up the middle.When you first buy it, it looks great but then when you open the desk I think the pressure to open it causes the dry erase sheet to separate.Very poor quality.I would not recommned this product.

Also, the idea of using a dry erase board in the car sounds great until you have to smell the dry erase markers as you are driving.

This dry erase lap desk works great in regards to the tilt-up board, pull-out stands to rest over the lap, and storage space for the markers. The only problem I have with it, is the fact that it is advertised to store 8.5"x11" paper in it... Well I couldn't get that to work. it is long enough for the 11" but the 8.5" doesn't fit...Still a good buy!!

To those that may want to use this in your car...I wouldn't advise leaving it in the car (Heat can cause the issues other reviewers are complaining about) and I would suggest buying low-to-no smell dry erase markers.

I got this so my kids could do school work in the car. The paper (white board) peeled off imediatly and left a sticky residue I can't get off! Just buy a clip board with storage, they work so much better!!Wouldn't buy this ever again!

I have never been more dissatisfied with a product I bought on Amazon.com -and I do most of my shopping as a satisfied customer. I had barely opened the box (it was shipped nicely and in good time, btw) and within moments, the product was broken. The hinges are too strong for the plastic desk and the closure is not well aligned. The lid would not budge when I tried to open it -and then the hinges suddenly broke the plastic they are connected to; so now the desk will not close -a major problem because it is opened way too far. All of that within a minute or so of opening the package. . . and the desk is ready for the garbage can. I'm glad I bought only one; I was considering these for a class I teach. I will try to return it for a refund; otherwise it will have to go in the garbage.
