Melissa & Doug Easel Paper Roll

Melissa & Doug Easel Paper RollMy two cents: similar paper and easel are much less at Ikea-fifteen dollars for the easel and five for an eighteen and a half by one hundred foot roll of paper (this one is eighteen by seventy five feet).However, you cannot order the paper online, which I'd like to be able to do.Hope this helps someone:-)

I bought a cheaper version of rolling paper MÅLA Drawing paper roll from Ikea and Melissa & Doug Easel Paper Roll.I want to compare them.

1. Density :

Papers weight is equally thin (like paper to print)

2.Color:

Melissa & Doug clear white color;

MÅLA oatmeal color.

3. Structure:

Melissa & Doug very smooth and matt;

MÅLA rough texture.

You can see My samples of watercolor on both papers(photo attached).

Paint on the Melissa & Doug paper lies smoothly and leaves no gradient.

Mala paper is quickly absorbs water paint because it's routh. Paint does not lie flat and has a visible gradient.

4. Melissa & Doug paper more waterproof(photo attached).

5.I did test with gouache paints(photo attached):

I did brush stroke more easily and smoothly on Melissa & Doug paper.

Resume:

I think for drawing by felt-tip pen MALA paper it's OK. IT'S CHIPPER (5$) and 25" longer. If you plane use paint (especially watercolor!) for drawing will buy M&D paper (just watch for good deal). I bought set of 2 for 13$ + free shipping.

P.S. Sorry for my English

Nothing beats a seemingly unending roll of easel paper.Our paint doesn't bleed through nor does it tear too easily.My kids take their artwork very seriously and this paper stands up to the task.

Since it is the same brand as the easel, I would have thought that it would be more closely matched to the width of the easel.It would make sense...less clean up on the wipe board if the paper were a bit wider.
