Turbo Tube Slide - Yellow

This item is the highlight of our home-made play-set. Before purchasing, plan or measure your play-set very carefully. The bottom of the mounting panel, where the tube is affixed to the structure, needs to be 7' off the ground. If you or your kids are uncomfortable with heights, this may not be the slide for you. The "Turbo Tube Slide" comes in wide half-shell pieces which must be bolted together ad nauseam with hundreds? of little bolts, nuts, and washers. Be sure to use the washers on both the tube and the mounting panel, or the bolt/nuts can cut into the plastic when under stress. Also, plan out the mounting area very carefully beforehand. A sturdy frame of 4x4s seems to work best. I built out the the sides of my frame with doubled 2x4s but used bolted 4x4s on the both the top and bottom. Also, give some thought to bracing the slide from beneath. The instructions show you how to create a small brace using segments of a 2x4, but I wasn't impressed with that solution and made my self a larger brace using 4x4s and a 2x6. You will need more than one person to put this monster up. I also drilled two holes on the top in the flange corners, so that rainwater doesn't collect and rust the bolts. When finished, adults can use the tube but will be limited by their length more than their weight.

I am a 32 year old Mom that is pretty handy with tools.I put it together by myself in about 4 hours.There are A LOT of nuts and bolts.I was only short a couple nuts and washers.It was tricky at times but holes I didn't think would line up somehow would with some effort.We attached it to our deck.It is awesome and super fast.The support you build at the bottom is great, but I wish there was one more higher up.It is meant to be secured to the swing set, and since we attached it to the deck, I do not have a good spot for that attachment piece.We love it.So far kids from 7 to 1.5 have tried it out, and I as well.I will say the heavier you are, the faster you go.

Really good slide.Instructions are a bit sketchy, so attaching the different pieces and getting the right angle takes a bit of trial and error.Definitely takes TWO people to assemble, preferably with both with decent upper body strength. Would also recommend attaching the top piece to the upper platform 1st and then attaching the rest as one piece.Amazon gave the best deal by far.The yellow looks terrific against the play structure

Slide is not as heavy duty as I had hoped for from pictures and description and has a lot of give when someone goes down it. It was professionally installed and the guy says it's safe so I am treating him because my kids love it. Had to pay an extra 150 for installation because it was not shipped on time and did not get here when originally stated so it couldn't be installed with the rest of the swing set and was not here for my kids birthday. Very disappointed about the shipping time.
