100 Piece Wooden Train Set Track fits Thomas Wooden Railway and Brio

We ordered this train set for our 3 year old for Christmas this year. I got it out to look at it when it arrived and it is very nice! Solid wood, very durable! It is a very good value for as many pieces as you get. I would recommend this set to anyone who doesn't want to spend hundreds of dollars on Thomas the Train sets. It is however compatible with Thomas the train if you want to add Thomas pieces.

I purchased this set for a friend who was looking for a train for their young grandson. My wife and I purchased BRIO trains for our son when he was about two and they proved to provide hours, days, years actually of enjoyment for him and me too. The trains helped us form a bond really by working together building different layouts. I have electric trains and found that at a young age he was more interested in actually pushing the trains around then just watching them run. I believe kids want and need that hands on tactile experience. This is an excellent starter set and BRIO are without doubt the finest and most durable wooden train sets available. Excellent materials and quite a lot of interesting add on items for the future. We added additional pieces of track, switches, crossovers, bridges, gates, cars and engines for birthdays, Christmas and just because. There are cheaper sets out there but you don't get the quality or consistent compatibility of the BRIO line. I'm an engineer (not the train type) and my son is now a professional engineer and I must say that I believe that some of his interest in "engineering" a problem was influenced by the hours spent figuring out different track plans and layouts. Beats a video game any day. Hope this helps.

I bought this set online from another retailer, but it is the same set. The track is much less expensive than similar sets (Thomas, etc) and nearly identical. My daughter has never seen "Thomas" so a train is a train and in my opinion, the less branding the better.

The Amazon description however is somewhat misleading. It says that "everything in picture is included", but the little boy was not in the box. My set may have been different or defective, I don't know.

These are identical fm brio and 1/4 the price. My two year old son plays with these every day. All the little blocks and trees and people are very throwable and chokeable. But my son doesn't eat them. Only problem is the bridge. Go ahead and gorilla glue it together. It their favorite part and constantly falls apart. Great set Overall

This has been a really fun set. I do wish there were more trains that came with it and some extra small pieces. My table was not big enough for all the pieces to I had to modify it a bit. I will need to order some extra small pieces to go with it. Our family seems very happy with the purchase. The trains stay together really well.
