Royal Egyptian Pharaohs Queens Chess Board Game Set

Very nice chess set But NOT a TOY! We purchased this item as a gift for an adult friend with an interest in collecting Egyptian artifacts. It came in a shipping box that was damaged by the shipping company (not the fault of seller). However, the packing inside amounted to only flimsy styrofoam strips that when opened by the recipient, caused the heavy chess board and pieces to fall out and damage the corner of the composite chess board when it fell out and hit the corner on a hard surface. Luckily, the chess pieces were very nice and at least sufficiently nestled in slots in a separate piece of heavier, thicker styrofoam. Overall, nice novelty product for the collector enthusiast but not durable enough to be a toy for kids or adolescents who would not handle it gently. We were pleased with what we got based on the price.

This chess set was ordered as a gift for friend that collects themed chess sets.By far it was more than I expected.The pieces are large and the details to the design are of high standards. It serves as a piece of artwork because of its asthetically appealling image. THe only down side is the board is made of thin chipped wood and cheapens the appeal of the chess pieces.It was a great deal for the cost!
