Step2 Table and Chairs Set (Tan)

I rarely write reviews, but since I hate this product so much and there seem to be only good reviews for it, I think it is time to share my view.

I bought this for my 21 month old daughter base on all the great reviews it has. After we put the set together, we are all very disappointed! It was very easy to put together without any tool, however, it is very flimsy and way to light. Below are the few things that make this product NO GOOD:

The surface of the chair is way too small even for my daughter. and of course, Adults or older kids won't be able to sit on it if they wish to play or sit next to her.

The chair is so light weight when my daughter try to sit on it, it would keep sliding backward so she fall down a few times trying to sit on it. We have hardwood floor and it DOES NOT work at all. We tried putting the chair on the foam play mat, but it still would slide around.

The table also is so light weight it does not stay in one place. It kept moving around just like the chair. It does not work for an active toddler.

The table is a single piece of thin plastic instead of a block of plastic that warp the air in. We own the Step 2 lookout tree house and I thought the table would be same good quality as the tree house. NOT SO! Very disappointing.

I got the set for under $50. With the same price, we went to IKEA and got a nice set of wooden table with 2 wooden chairs. The IKEA set is heavy and very durable. No more sliding chairs and table! (That really piss me off!) I am returning this, even tho it would cost about $13 to ship! I really dislike this set and am surprised there are only good reviews for this product.

Okay, so I am giving this to my daughter as one of her MANY presents at Christmas. I opened up the box just to see the quality of the product and im not surprised with it being a step 2 product. It is made from solid plastic and I can tell its going to hold up beautifully!! For only paying $35.00 this is a GREAT product. One of the step 2 chairs costs 25 new! I couldn't believe how resonable the price was. Also. there is NO ASSEMBLY!!!!!! Thats right!! NoNe!! I was dreading having to screw in and hold together pieces. But the table legs snap into the table top and the chairs slide together then snap too. Its a great buy and I am sure she will love it! Get it before the price goes up to the normal 50-75 dollar range! :)

We purchased this Step 2 table and chairs set to go with our 20 month old twins new Step 2 kitchen.We love the size, seat height (10") and colors.Also, liked that it was plastic for easy cleaning.We are, however, disappointed with this set and would not recommend it to anyone. We do not feel that it safe.

1.Chairs are too light weight.The chairs move out from under the twins as they sit down.This happens on tile floors and some on the carpet.Putting felt under the legs does not help.The chairs still move on the tile floors.

2.The table is too light weight and moves around.If the twins do make it sitting in a chair, the table moves away from them as they brace themselves to sit down.

3.The table top has split on one side and I had to call Step 2 for a replacement top.Step 2 customer service was awesome and I received it in 3 days.

We will be getting ready of this table sit and be getting a heavier weighted table set with low height seats.I have seen one at my twins daycare that came from One Step Ahead.It is about 5 times as much in cost which I am not happy about but the set is heavy to works on tile floors and the height is low. We have a nice wood table and chairs set but the seat height is too tall and it will be a couple of years before they will be able to use.

I really expected more from Step2, this table is flimsy and not at all meant for children, I bought this for my 5 year old who is very good with her things. She leaned over to grab a crayon and the leg bent in. JUNK!!! Don't buy this.

I bought this table and chairs for my 4 & 2 year old girls for Christmas.I debated between it and another Step 2 table, but ultimately I chose this one because the price on the other table kept going higher and higher.I wish I had just waited and found the other table at a yard sale or something.It wasn't more than a month before one of the legs had bent and was difficult to keep on.We found a way around that...not pretty, but it stayed on.Then the table developed a small crack in the top, it the oddest place.I realize that the girls put it through some wear and tear, but I just don't think it was durable enough for 'real' use.Just to clarify, by real use I mean a 2 & 4 year old having a tea party, or coloring, or playing with Littlest Pet Shop on it.Those types of activities are too much for this table.

Step2 Sand and Water Fun Farm

We bought this for our 3 year old because he loves playing in water and in the sand. We thought the tunnel to pour sand or water would be great, but doesn't work at all. The water isn't able to spin the wheel, and so we tried sand, and just got stuck in the tunnel itself. Eventually the sand did make it down to the wheel, but again didn't turn the wheel. The pictures make it look really neat, but we haven't been able to get it to do that. I would not recommend this to other parents!

We got this toy for our 21 month old boy. He loves to play with water, cars and animals so we thought this will be the perfect combination. It was really easy to assemble, took me like 10 minutes. It's a fun toy, not super sturdy but good enough. All the accessories are fun, specially the 3 wagons. Only downside is that the barn falls really easily so we're thinking about putting some glue because it is frustrating to put it back every 10 seconds.

Kids love to play in the water and sand. They love to have other toys to play along with too. This adorable farm themed Sand and water Farm play table offers adorable farm themed characters along with water themed squirters for water fun. There's a tractor that has two pull carts for filling with sand or water and you can even give a cow or a horse a ride. The tractor travels around the perimeter of the table along with going through the middle of the 2 sections. The barn tunnel can be moved and placed any where on the table or even stuck in the sand. There are 3 bridges that also can be removed and children can use them to play in the sand along with the shovel/rake that is also included. My three year old and 5 yr old has so much fun with this. I love hearing them make farm animal noises the chicken noise they make is the best. He just gets so silly. The windmill really spins and can be turned to face either direction. The funnel can also be removed easily to play in the water or the sand. I love that this table offers so many ways for children to explore and entertain them self's. Paddle spinner doesn't seem to spin very well but the kids don't seem to mind. There is NOT a plug on either side to drain water so you may decide to fill both sides with water or fill both sides with sand for an easier clean up. No lid is available so just put it in the garage or cover it with something during the night. (product provided free of charge)

This was a gift for my toddler's 2nd birthday.He plays with it every chance we get.I only have it filled with water because it would be a huge mess to have both water and sand in it at his age. His favorite part is the tractor and animals around the side.The funnel and wheel don't seem to work the best for us, but it may be incorrectly installed as well.He doesn't mind anyway.Many people complained about the barn falling off too much, it doesn't seem to be an issue to us.It comes off but he can put it on again or he just plays without it. It seems to be pretty steady and he hasn't knocked it over or had any issues with the legs falling off, which was a concern with some of the other ones we looked at.He loves splashing and playing with the water and his farm toys. A great combination!

The Step2 Sand and Water Fun Farm was easy to set up and seems to be of good quality for a plastic kids toy. The only problem you will run into is that the way it snaps together, some of the pieces will get taken off and possibly lost such as the funnel, gate, windmill, railroad tracks etc. It would be a good idea to glue them down so they dont lose them. All in all, a great product my kids love it.

This item had a toxic petroleum smell. I let them set out in the open for over a week and they still had the smell. I bought them to put into Halloween partty bags but did not use them. I was afraid that these items would be potentially dangerous to children because of the smell. I threw the entire package away. Waste of money.

Coffee Table African Stone Game - Solid Wood with Walnut Stain

Have you ever watched kids play this?They are really good...I mean ALL kids are good at this game.

After watching my kid (7 now, been playing since 5) play this at her child care we had Santa deliver this one in 2007.It's great.

It is well crafted, handsome and durable.

The beads are glass and appear to be well made.

If you don't know this game it is easy to learn.It has the added benefit that the game is easy to "walk away from" unlike other board games that involve lots of setup and last a long while.The games on this board typically last under 5 minutes so it is a great time-killer when a child is being asked to wait "just a few minutes".

Finally a mancala board large enough to hold enough stones with ease. Very nice wood, dosn't look really cheap like the other boards. The pits are large enough to count stones easily, or add more to the game if you want to make it more challenging.

It is attractive enough that we leave it out on a small table all the time, and it gets lots of complements and much more use than if it were tucked away in the game cabinet! Everyone young and old wants to play with it as they pass by!

Generic Tabletop Football Game

Talk about a simple travel game...My buddy and I started playing this game at a music festival a few years back.The football is really cool and easy to flick.It is leather, or feels like it and very durable.The weight of the ball knocks the goal post over pretty easily but who cares.We play on a table top and have had a blast.This is a cool and fun way to teach my young sons addition throughout the course of keeping score during a game.

This a well built product and is well worth the money, but my dad and I have been playing paper football for years and didnt know what to expect.A paper football has much less drag and slides freely across the table.Although the leather Fiki Football seems very durable, it is not flat and therefore wobbles when you play and it doesnt glide across the table very easily.Maybe we will try to get used to it instead.

Best purchase in a very long time! My kids (11 months, 3 years, 4 years, and 8 years) all love it. Could not be happier. The best part is that it's water play but I don't have to worry of the danger of water.I don't use the sand, but I only use water on both sides and that's just perfect. The kids love it that way, too. The cover is great because it keeps leaves out of the water and you can leave it in a few days. So glad I go this.

It was easy to put together, you only need to attach the legs using eight screws and the umbrella. A good toy to help develop manipulative skills. It has plugs In the bottom which makes it easy to drain and clean the water and sand. My son that just turned 5 enjoys it.

Foamables Set - Handy Manny

I bought this on clearance for $9.00 and it wasn't even worth that much money! It is so flimsy and so poorly made. the only thing my 2 kids like to do with it (1.5yrs and 3.5yrs) is take it apart and throw the pieces around. That is literally the ONLY entertainment value this table provides. I cannot see how this would be suitable for a 7yr old. My 1.5yr old (who is small for his age) is barely held up by the stool. I only gave the "fun" rating 2 stars because my kids love Handy Manny so much they play with the pieces just for that reason, but as a table it is unusable. Disney should be ashamed of themselves for producing such a poorly made table.I have never written a product review, but I felt so strongly about how bad this one is that I didn't want others to waste their money.

After reading the review above I decided to purchase this product because I have never seen another product like this by Handy Manny.I was very pleasantly surprised!Kids love it and have a blast with it.Perfect for a small snack table.

I had a bit of an abstract idea for this paper. I bought the 50 sheet pack and tacked it up upon my wall, and have since been drawing a mural of New York City with opaque white markers. For this task the paper was exactly what I needed, being very dark, easily cut, easily sketched/drawn/painted upon, and large. I use only a third of my sheets and covered my entire wall. I would imagine that for any form of typical or atypical arts and crafts this paper should be perfect.

Fisher Price Peek-A-Blocks: Shape Sorter

Of all the way too many toys my 11 month old has, I would say this one gets used the most!It's a very simple toy---basically just an open box with shape openings on the side.Blocks like the Peek-a-blocks but in different sizes come with it.It has batteries for sound, and the sound plays very easily when you put the blocks in, or in fact anything in!That is what is so fun for my daughter---I can fill the box up with all sorts of her toys, and she takes them out and puts them back in, and gets rewarded with non-annoying musical sounds for doing so!She isn't much for sorting yet, but I think she will be soon, and it's nice this integrates with her other FP block toys.Most any box can be used for most of what we use this for, but this is very durable, has smooth edges, and it's the rare case that the slight electronics it has actually adds to the fun!

I agree with a previous review.The handle has pinched our daughter's fingers several times.I wasn't sure what to do so I just tried to watch her more carefully while she was using.One day while my husband was home he saw her do it.He took the toy and using a screwdriver took the top apart and removed the handle.Once she is old enough (she is eight months now) to carry the toy around we will put the handle back on.Other then that, I love this toy.I also use this sorter for storage for her other PeekaBlocks and RollaRounds.I was disappointed though, that normal shaped rollarounds won't fit in the circle shape.Other then that, I think the shape sorter is a great idea for a traditional toy.Sarah also loves to hit it so the music starts. All around it's a great toy and educational.

I originally bought this toy last Christmas for my then five-month old daughter.I mainly bought it because I knew my daughter 'should have' a shape sorter for 'learning purposes.'I bought a lot of the peek-a-block items, and I had no idea she would end up loving THIS ONE so much and playing with it as much as she does.It's actually one of the toys she plays with the most . . . even now at 17 months old!The sorter is of course used for transporting much more than the four shapes that comes with it, but she enjoys the music, and the size is just perfect for her play.And she has found that it can sort a variety of items as well!I should warn those of you who also have climbers, that she likes to try to stand in it with both feet, use it as a stepstool, etc, which of course, it isn't made for.But she's going to do that with anything!

Needless to say, I was very pleasantly surprised, and it has far exceeded my expectations . . . making it WAY worth the money!(I've already gotten a year of play out of it, and I don't foresee her getting tired of it anytime soon!)

Bright Starts Having a Ball Get Rollin Activity Table

My 9 month old has had this table for 2 months so far.. and I'm embarrassed to say that she plays with it for hours a day, though not all at one sitting.I researched the Fisher Price and V-Tech version of similar tables (and watched my daughter play with them at friends' houses) this one is so much better!It seems like there are more activities than the others.We started without the legs, added them a month ago.She loves it both ways, and we'll probably take the legs off again soon just to change things up.

As another reviewer mentioned, the functionality switches between "play" and "learn" mode by flipping the page of the book.There are so many melodies (English and Spanish too) that even after hearing it daily, my husband and I still think we're hearing new songs.We don't find them annoying at all.Actually, to correct the other reviewer, the "red triangle", "blue circle", etc audio corresponds to the buttons of the caterpillar that are the corresponding color and have that shape on them.It's pretty obvious if you sit down and play with your child.

The alligator mouth covers a compartment that is great for hiding the balls or puffs/Cheerios.My little girl loves to find things there.She even knows the sound associated with the alligator door and comes crawling to look for food if she hears it.One of the smartest things that Bright Starts did was to make the 1,2,3 buttons so that they click and pop out.It's hard to describe, but it's different than just pushing a button the child gets feedback and it's easier to operate.Initially, my baby couldn't figure out how to push buttons on any of her toys.These were easier for her to manipulate and seemed to help her figure out the "cause and effect" of the other buttons.

Of course, the ball slide is a huge part that sets this table apart from the others.We have so much fun watching her try to stop the balls from falling into the hole and then chasing them around after the come out of the leg.The balls are the perfect size for little hands, too.It comes with six 2 each of red, yellow and blue.

The toy will automatically play a random tune about 30 seconds after the last button/activity was activated.At first we thought it was broken.We were wrong it's actually genius.I cannot count how many times my kid has gotten fussy or wandered away from the toy and been drawn back by that reminder song.Just so you know, it's on purpose!We honestly thought it was haunted the first few nights when it would play songs after we had cleaned up even though no one was playing with it.

At 9 months, she has not yet mastered the yellow spinner or the gear-like activity.She also doesn't reliably let the balls go down the slide on purpose.Due to this, I foresee her playing with this for at least another year if not longer.It's really been a lifesaver since she became mobile and hated being constrained by her jumper.I will say that I got this around the holidays for around twenty-four bucks.I think the Amazon price is a little high because, according to the packaging, this model is made just for Toys R Us.You should be able to find it for significantly less there.

There are quite a few of these sit-to-stand activity tables on the market and I've had the opportunity to see the other brands that my friends own. I ultimately chose this one because it had an extra element of fun. While the little light up, noise-making, turny toys on the top (similar to all the others models) are interesting for a few minutes, the real fun comes with the ball drop. It works likes a billiards table. You first drop or roll the ball down through the center hole (creating fun noises in the process). The ball then ends up dropping down one of the four legs of the table. This is by far my 1 year old son's favorite part of this toy. I'm not sure how long he would remain interested had this feature not been included. The only problem I have encountered is that occasionally the ball gets 'stuck' inside. It's an easy fix (throw something else in after it) and my son doesn't even seem to notice. His second favorite thing would be opening and closing the alligator's mouth and hiding the balls inside. He loves to open and close things. As the prior reviewer stated, it is a nice feature that you can switch from English to Spanish. I am really happy that we decided to get this one!

It's fine, it works, it isn't unsafe. I used it without the legsfor a bit...it tends to tip if baby pulls on it too much when pulling themselves up.

It's super busy with lots of lights, noises, etc.it seems a bit possessed as it goes off for no reason.I don't think this is an effective toy to teach 'cause and effect' as it claims...if you look at itfunny, it makes a new noise .I can only imagine a kid just likes the lights and sounds more than figuring out, " hey! If I push that button, I hear this song."

Speaking of noises and sounds...let's talk about the noises and sounds on this thing.Holy crap, it's hands down the single most annoying toy in my house! I cannot emphasize this enough.The singing voice used pushes me into a homocidal rage.I even turned it on to the Spanish setting hoping that would help.It didn't.

My son doesn't seem interested in it if it isn't blinking and stabbing my brain with the 10,000th rendition of 'ten little fishies' that I've heard that day.

Oh, also, the sticker came off the book within the first day or two that we used it.

So, it gets 3 stars because, while my son doesn't LOVE it, he does enjoy it but I take two stars away because it makes mommy want to throw herself out the window.:)

I would say listen to it before you purchase it and decide if it is something that will drive you insane.

I purchased this table for my son from Target. He began showing an interest in standing very early, but I made him wait until he could crawl well before I would really start supporting his standing. I had been eyeing this activity table in the store for months! I was so happy when it was time to bring it into our house! We got it one afternoon while he was visiting his aunt. When he came home, it was all set-up and waiting for him. He had the BIGGEST smile on his face when we stood him up and showed him to put the balls in the chute. The next day, I was cleaning up and I noticed some smudges in the yellow coloring, where the balls fall into the center of the table. Out of curiosity, I reached my hand into it and touched one. Turns out, it disappeared. It was dirt. It was in the track where the balls were rolling. The same balls that my child plays with, using his hands and his mouth. I had to take it out of his sight until I had a chance to disassemble it and clean it out. I have pictures of the dirt. It is pretty unacceptable and neglectful to just not clean a part. The cardboard and the top of the table were not dirty, it was only the inside. I will be much more hesitant with my Bright Starts purchases in the future.

My mother gave this toy as a gift for my son when he was 10 months old. It's become his favorite toy. He loves to walk around it and spends a lot of time dropping the ball in the middle and looking for where the ball comes out. Ir definitely encourages him to stand and cruise and I really like that it has Spanish and English options for the sound and music. GREAT toy, I don't know what we'd do without it.
