Wooden Sudoku Puzzle Board with Grid

I received this as a Christmas present, and it's a great tool for solving the harder puzzles!! No erasing holes in the paper.I've solved some of the puzzles that came with it, but find it easier to just lay out a puzzle from one of the dozen or so books I have around the house -no hassle with picking up the grid and putting it back!

I find I'll start a puzzle, then quit when I can't seem to figure out any more numbers.Then later that day -or the next, I'll see something I have missed, and I'm off!!I rarely do that with paper puzzles.

As several others have noted, there are not enough "pencil" tiles.It's especially frustrating when you're working on a really tough puzzle.Perhaps I can order some.

I received this as a gift for Christmas and spent HOURS and HOURS trying to work the first puzzle in the booklet. When I came home, I entered the puzzle *as printed* into pappocom's sudoku program (where I play most of my puzzles). The program rated it an impossible puzzle: there's no solution. Even as I continued to enter in solutions I'd found, it was still unsolvable. Not only that, the box says there are 100 puzzles in the booklet; mine printed 40 grids, 20 of which had EVERY number plugged in... so of the "100", I'm missing 60, 20 are solved, and at least one is impossible. That leaves me with 19 new puzzles to work.

My only other complaint is that they only give you 9 miniature numbers (to substitute for pencil marks) and I wish I had more... sometimes, there are more than 9 possible locations for a number as I'm working the puzzle!

Aside from those two issues, one of which is easily ignored by supplementing the game with new puzzle books, and the other might be solved by seeing if I can order more of JUST the numbers...

This is neat. It's a new way to work some of the harder puzzles, and it might make this phenomenon available to other people (kinesthetic learners, you can actually physically manipulate things here!).

Roll & Go Puzzle Saver

I suppose there just aren't many good ways to transport a puzzle in progress, but it seems like there might be better ways than this.It does the job, and if you're careful enough in the rolling process, it does maintain your progress fairly well.The problem, however, is that the work surface is simply a sheet of vinyl with a velvety coating.The coating succeeds in keeping the pieces from sliding around, but it's an absolute magnet for the dust left in the box from cutting the puzzle, not to mention hair and other debris.The even worse problem, though, is that it's pretty much impossible to get the wrinkles out of the vinyl surface, even on a hard surface.That can be very frustrating in the early stages of working a puzzle.This item does the job, but it seems like a very thick sheet of felt might work better.

This puzzle mat is really helpful if you would like to put away your puzzle or move your puzzle somewhere. This puzzle mat works for big puzzles, I have been working on a 1000piece puzzle and it holds, as long as you roll it up tightly no pieces will fall out of place. This contraption has saved my puzzles in progress from the cat, the dog and a 2 year old.It is really nice to just roll up the puzzle just as you want to leave it (peices out and all) and put it away.

I searched for a puzzle saver that was functional, inexpensive, and easy to store and boy did I find it in this product. Having an autistic son who loves to touch and play with everything I needed something that really worked and could put away fast. This item holds all the pieces even the lose ones and when unrolled it was as if I never put it away. The only downfall I found was all the dust from the puzzles are caught in the felt and since it is new all the folds are hard to get out so it makes the surface bumpy, but by storing it I am noticing some of them smoothing out. At this price you can't beat the quality. I highly recommend this product.

My family enjoys doing a difficult puzzle together during the holidays, but it became a problem when the puzzle couldn't be transported easily and had to be partially disassembled to be relocated.I purchased the puzzle carrier to make the transportation process easier and less frustrating.However, it brought about new frustrations with the plethora of lint that sticks to the work surface and the wrinkles that make it very difficult for the smaller pieces to stay together.It was very nice to be able to move the puzzle from location to location without disassembling it, but it became very frustrating to try to keep the pieces together with the large wrinkles running through the vinyl backing.I assume that by storing it out of the box and rolled around the cylinder that the wrinkles would eventually be less prominent, but I have yet to experience that phenomenon.

Melissa & Doug Beginner Pattern Blocks

This is a brightly-colored, sturdy pattern block set. I would give this set to a child between 20 months and 3 years. My 22-month old just loves it. As soon as he saw it (hidden away, intended as a Christmas gift) he kept at me to open it. I finally gave in, and I am so glad that I did. He is at the perfect developmental level for this toy! He tries to match up the shapes and colors, and is even starting to name the shapes on his own. This is such an exciting age!

I like how the solid wooden boards are double-sided and VERY sturdy. There are more than enough pieces to go aroundeven if a few are lost over the years. A few of the pictures arrived with some scratching, but I think this is more annoying for me than it is for my child.

Don't forget that these patterning blocks can also be used independantly of the boards. This enables your child to come up with more challenging creations as she or he developes greater skill in this area.

My daughter got this as a gift for her 2nd birthday. Not only does she love putting the puzzles together and double the fun being two-sided her 4 yr old sister also enjoys it. It is useful to teach more complex concepts to our 4 yr old, such as 2 triangles make a square, 4 triangles make a rectangle. Both girls really enjoy this toy, as with all Melissa and Doug toys, it is very well made and will withstand abuse. Just wish it was easier to fit the plastic cover on, we can't seem to fit the shapes neatly to close easily, especially in a hurry. A minute inconvenience. A great toy!

My soon to be 2 year old son is obsessed with shapes and had outgrown the basic shape puzzle (the large knob puzzle by melissa and doug) and I was looking for a puzzle that went beyond that but was not too difficult. I was thrilled to find this! It looks and feels great too. My son really enjoys it and I think it is conceptually very well put together. Not only are the puzzles well within his reach but he also enjoys free play with the shapes. He recently discovered that 2 triangles can make a square and two rectangles can make a square too :) That was only possible because the shapes are thoughtfully proportioned as such. I do agree with the other viewer who said that this puzzle is not for a 5 year old. My son is not yet 2 and he can do them. If it wasn't for the sharp edges of the shapes I would say its for 18+ months 3 years.

Do not purchase this tent. It came with only three (not four) loops for the tent sticks, so I had to sew on a fourth one. One of the tent sticks cracked and I had to put black duct tape around it to protect my kids from splinters. Then, all four of the sticks went through the bottom fabric. This is the same tent that is sold at Ikea for 19.99. The one I own is sturdy and my kids have a blast playing in it. So far they've been pretty gentle with it so no rips, tears or breaks to speak of. We have it set up in a corner with some pillows insideits their reading space and a place to hang out either together or alone. It's a nice tent IMO and am suprised to see so many had problems with it :/

The three piece sofa set was just what I needed for the space and costed the same as a single larger sofa.I work with 3-5 year olds and was looking to add seating to a quiet area that has books and puzzles.The set was perfect.The only downfall that I can tell is that the pieces are made from foam and not as sturdy as I would have liked and the covers remove (accidents) however I am not sure if I could ever get the foam back inside the same way with how small the zippered openings are.Other than that they were an inexpensive way to fill the space that I needed and the kids like them.

We searched..and we searched..and here it is, a durable, beautifully colored, easy to assemble, multi-chaired table for our 3 yr old daughter! Make sure you read the size of this changing table carefully before you make a decision.I made the mistake of glancing at the size and eye balling the dimensions in our very small nursery.However I am happy with the purchase (I did manage to find a good spot for it)!

It wasn't easy for my husband to put together and in the process he nicked the item a little but I would still recommend this purchase.For $185 with free super saver shipping you just can't beat the price.

The quality of the wood is decent and the pieces came intact.Expect to spend a while trying to put it together especially if you are doing it yourself.

Also note that the white is a true white like the picture.The drawers move in and out easily and the cabinet has 2 large shelves in it.I think it's just lovely and am happy we got it!

Two things that I would have liked to know before purchasing this item, either of which probably would have made me re-think the purchase. First, the back and drawer bottoms are flimsy cardboard, not wood (or "wood product," for that matter). This is more or less fine for the back, but people put things in drawers and sometimes those things are heavy. I would prefer something sturdier.

Second and more importantly, this was truly comically hard to put together. Other reviews mentioned this but don't really emphasize it enough. If someone sat around and thought very hard about how to make assembly maximally time-consuming and frustrating, this might have been the result. The materials are needlessly complex; as but one example, instead of having drawer knobs with embedded screws, which would allow you to just screw the threaded end straight into the drawer, there is a separate knob and a screw, and the instructions call for you to insert the screw both through the drawer and into the knob. Seven times. You are supposed to do this manually, which leads me to my next issue, which is how very, very wrong it is to claim, as the instructions do, that one does not need power tools for this job. I can say precisely when I would have quit had I not already pulled out my drill: at step 21 of 34 (yes, 34, many of which had sub-steps a through c), which called for screwing a 50 mm screw into a piece of presswood with an inadequately pre-drilled hole. It was hard for me to get the screw all the way in using the power drill. I think it would have been impossible without it. The drill also came in handy when I came across several "Robertson screws" to insert, a type of screw that I had never heard of but in any event seems eminently substitutable for a screw that would fit a commonly owned screwdriver. Like, say, a Phillips. Fortunately, we had a drill bit that was apparently Robertson shaped. I could go on, but leaving all this aside, it is the case that we finally got the thing together and I'm 9 months pregnant with a decidedly non-handy husband (I'm not super handy myself). If we can manage, so can others. But use power tools and be prepared to spend 3-5 hours.

I have some other minor complaints as well, such as how dirty and dusty the thing was when delivered. Presswood coated in sawdust is not closer to real wood. It just makes a mess in the baby's room. Another is the large and permanent warning on the back edge of the table top border. You can't see it in the picture on amazon and you can't remove it. It warns that if your baby falls off a four-foot high surface, it could get hurt. I am sufficiently aware of this risk to feel comfortable covering the warning with stickers, but would prefer if it my nice new changing table didn't have nanny-state printed all over it.

In sum, I would not purchase again. However, I'm familiar with the maxim "you get what you pay for." The price is quite low and now that it's all together, I think it will be quite serviceable.

This changing table is huge, it was much bigger than I thought it would be once put together.I am 5'10" and it comes up way past my bellybutton. It is very heavy duty, but very complicated to assemble is the only drawback.

The first one we got had 9 pieces that were cracked and dented so we returned it. The return process was fairly easy and the second one we got is working out great! Very big and very white check mesurements and make sure you have enough room. Only neg... plastic sliders for the drawers (we shall see how that holds up)! Good luck!

Franklin Sports Future Champs Youth Football Goal Post Set No. 14266

I bought this for my teenage son and his friends who are always playing "street football" in the neighorhood yards etc. For the price, it is very durable ( they use theeir own real football though instead of the mini one it comes with) and it has several flag markers for added effects. The goal post can be set at two heights and they have put it up and taken it down many times now and its held up to the "big kid" abuse just fine. lol Great fun for all ages.

My 7 year old LOVED this gift.He is the biggest football fan ever and loves the challenge of kicking the football through the uprights. It's the biggest goal post around I could find so that part is great. I just wish it was better made.The plastic started to crack right were it clips together on the post (a month after we got it).If they had made it of a more solid plastic (the plastic is pretty thin) it would have lasted a lot longer.We taped it up and so far it's holding together, but for how long who knows.

I bought this item as a self-birthday present, and it arrived on the day of my birthday! Well, when I put it together in the house, it was some trouble connecting the joints, but otherwise it was HUGE! It comes with a lever in which you can raise and put the posts higher or lower.

A few days later when I play with it-the ball contained was very small. Therefore I went out and bought a new ball WITH a kicking tee (it wasn't in the box when it said it was) and when I kicked it, it hit it and it cracked! EDIT: I just played with is yesterday... and it completely broke.

This is small and cheap, but my 7-year-old LOVES it!

The goal post is thin plastic (you could build a much stronger one yourself using PVC pipe). At it's tallest setting, it's 4-feet wide by 6-feet high (to the top of the uprights), with a 49 inch high crossbar. It has a 12.5-inch diameter circular stand that you fill with water, which is sufficient to keep the goal-post self-standing, but it will fall if hit hard by a football.

The mini-football is very mini. Ours measured 6.5 inches long but it wouldn't fully inflate, probably because of a leak, but my 7-year-old likes it being soft.

The included football tee is worthless. It's too wide to hold the included ball, and too lightweight to hold a larger ball without toppling over.

The yard-line markers are 3-inches wide and 4-inches high (before sticking into the ground), and there's only 3 of them (50 yd, 40 yd, 30 yd) as is correctly stated on the box, but is incorrectly stated in Amazon's Product Description.

In summary, I was disappointed with the quality and size, but my 7-year-old LOVES it!

Beginner Dinner Games

I bought this game not knowing what to expect.Of the 51 cards, there are many cards in this pack that were hits with my children (who are 4 and 6).Some of the cards are games, and some are thought-provoking questions (such as: what is your favorite color? food?).The cards are good conversation starters, and the children do get excited when we bring the box to the table.Each card can be played very quickly and with little preparation time or supplies.To play the games, children do not need to read.

Nevertheless, most of the ideas in the box are tried and true games that we adults have played at some point in our lives.(They will be new to your kids.)The box is a nice vehicle to lend excitement to familiar parlor games, but it is not necessary.

Am I glad that I bought the box?Yes.For a relatively small expenditure, I can have some creative ideas at my fingertips.Do you need this box to have family fun at the dinner table? No, but you will have to work a little harder to create the family fun without the pre-packaged suggestions.

Both my kids (5 and 2) enjoy and this game and it makes dinner time fun. I questioned whether to get this version or the older version for my 5 year old and she likes this younger version just fine. There are not many cards but she likes to play her favorite games over and over. Even though the 2 year old doesn't understand he picks up on the fun and some of the easy concepts.

The suction cups are cheap and don't work at all... no, it's not my surface.. they are defective: flimsy and curled on the edges.There are no instructions included in the package, so I'm not exactly sure how you are supposed to make the goalie stand up, but it looks like they expect you to stick one of the suction cups to his cardboard back and balance him against a plastic rod... it just doesn't work.The best you might be able to do is permanently glue the goalie to the plastic rod, but then he won't fit in the carry net.There is nothing fun about this toy.Create a goal post with you fingers and have a friend flick a crumpled piece of paper at you it is much less frustrating.

My great grandchildren enjoy active games and especially anything to do with hockey, so this has been a lot of fun and very easy to use.

ECR4Kids Birch Hardwood Natural Book Display

We deliberated a great deal in trying to find a piece of furniture that would accomodate our hundred or so softcover books from our 18-month-old and 3.5 year old daughters' collection. So many of the softcover books just get lost in our hundreds of other books, and thus don't get much exposure.

We chose this one after looking over everything from canvas sling-style shelves and multitudes of similar shelving units from companies like Steffy Wood and Guidecraft. We settled on this one because of the size and price and I have to say, I'm glad we did. Though the dimensions seem large enough on paper, this is a surprisingly small piece of furniture once you've gotten it together. This is fine, I suppose, considering the size of the kids, but I can't imagine how tiny some of these book displays are. This seems the perfect size, even for our 18-month-old.

Assembly took about 30 minutes by the way, and was fairly straightforward. Although the shelving unit looks like it's got a lot of wood to it, it's actually rather flimsy plywood pieces that are surprising sturdy once assembled (you almost forget entirely how thin the individual components areit looks quite solid). You do have to be mindful of their flimsiness during the assembly as there is a potential for breaking them if you're not careful.

We are able to store/display about 10 15 softcover books per shelf. Which isn't our entire softcover collection, but at least a significant portion of it. They overlap so that you can see about one third of the cover just enough to identify what book it is. They're actually quite attractive stored this way, and the kids seem to enjoy it. I imagine that with hardcover books this would be a difficult strategy to employ, and you might only be able to display 4 to 5 books per shelf, maximum. The shelves, at 1.5 inches are really quite shallow.

I'd still be curious to read a really good review or recieve comments in regards to other shelving units of this sort and how they compare in terms or storage and display. It's hard to get any idea what these units are like without being able to actually see them in person first. Most of the reviews I've read are lacking in details.

As for this shelf, we are pleased overall, but its one drawback is the price. Considering the cheap materials and the fact that it's made in China, I'm thinking this should cost about half what is being asked. However in comparison to what else is out there, it's probably a bargain.

We have had the shelf for only a few weeks and it is already falling apart.Although it is made of mostly solid wood, the fasteners are not holding up, screws are pulling out...I am making one more last ditch effort to save it with some gorilla glue tonight... otherwise it is hitting the dump. :(So, so very disappointed.

I bought these nearly 1.5 years ago. Assembly was rather straightforward and I did it on my own. I love having the books where my daughter (now 21 months) can easily see a selection and choose her books. These certainly don't hold nearly all her collection, usually about 20-30 board books, hardcover books, and paperback books combined. We rotate the selection and keep the other books on traditional bookshelves. She can easily take ooks off the shelf and put them back on. After a year and a half, these shelves still look brand new.

Raspberry Season Plastic Tablecover 54 in x 96 in Party Supply

I don't know how this review item got in with toys but I stumbled across this tablecloth looking for something else and just had to have it.I love raspberries.Being a party tablecloth, the plastic is a little thinner, but I couldn't find any at the grocery store where I got my last one and didn't want to go all the way out to (big box store) or (other big box stores) for a plastic tablecloth.I don't mind and the companion items are nice but I'm not having a party.The only thing is the color process in the stamping didn't line up quite right in one of the passes but it doesn't matter, kind of makes it look painted.The bottom line is that it's cheery for my work table.
