The Step 2 Deluxe Art Master Desk was purchased for my daughters 7th Birthday by her Aunt and Uncle.I was worried she was too old for it (wish I would have thought of this idea sooner but can't live in the past).Anyway I asked a friends daughter who is 11 and loves to draw, color, cut and paste to see if she liked it an thought she would still use it.Guess what? She said yes to both.My daughter at 7 uses it everyday and it is the 1st thing her friends go over and play with. The desk has lots of storage and I enjoyed organizing everything. It was simple to put together and it was a great investment.:)This was a Christmas gift for my daughter. She loves arts and crafts and this helps her to keep all of her stuff together and organized. It's a help for me too because it's easier to clean up and again it keeps her stuff in a specific spot and organized. This product is great and it got here before Christmas..i was afraid it wont because it said estimated delivery on 29th of this month but i got it today so thx very much u just made me a happy person!!!!!!!Fisher Price Dora The Explorer Let's Get Ready Vanity Replacement Parts

Stable Feed Set
The net bag is the most fragile item in the set, but even that holds up fairly well under little hands. While I wouldn't recommend this set for smaller children (some of the pieces are pretty tiny) it's perfect for your horse-crazy gradeschooler. It also makes a nice "accent set" for older horse collectors.I bought this set last month and I still spend hours with it!Me and my brother create a magical world right before my Mommy's eyes as we play with our other bryer horses! All horses get hungrey somtimes so this was perfect for me and my horses.I also enjoy watching my brother play with this wonderful toy.
This was bought as a Christmas gift to go with the barn I bought for my 3 year old. Each peice looks very real and unlike the some of the other sets, the pieces are not terribly small. This set is not as much fun as some of the other sets but goes well with the barn~ a must have, the metal trough is great!Great for little imaginations. This set is a great compliment for the stable my daughter got for Christmas. She's logged many hours playing with it.I LOVE this set.We ordered a bunch of "tack" type sets from Breyer, not knowing exactly what to expect. This was bigger than I expected and of excellent durable quality.Sure, some pieces may get lost, but my daughter loves playing with tiny things. This is the perfect addition to her new stable. It basically adds to the realism of it all.She uses the stable as her version of a dollhouse and the feed set is just what she needed.Oh, and we got it to use with Schleich horses.Fits very well, maybe a bit big, but that's not a problem.

As and engineer I was impressed with the sturdiness of this home-assembled item.Someone apparently thought about this one befoe manufacturing it.We did find tha twe had to pur mole-skin "feet" on the chairs because the leg points are smooth and they slide on hard wood and tightly woven carpets (OK on soft rugs).I would like to see an extra two chairs option (total 4 chairs) to allow for complete set.My 2 year old granddaughter does everything at this table now that she received it for her birthday. We are so happy with the product and received it in no time at all.Very easy to assemble.

I purchased this table for my 2 year old grandson, We have been having so much fun building on it with Duplo Lego's for now and when he gets older we will graduate to the regular Lego's. Sometimes it is a bit hard to fit the big pieces on the table but with patience they do connect. It is made well and bright and cheery!!! I would highly recommend it for a toddler!

This table is fantastic!Words cannot describe how wonderful it is.Well worth the $ we spent on it.I bought it for both of my children who are 3 and 7 for use at their Grandmother's house. They love it.Of course, they fight over who will be able to use it.I may have to buy another! :)Very easy to assemble, very colorful, and very wonderful. You can even assemble it for right or left handers! My mother loved this so much, that she bought two for my brother and his 3 children...one is assembled for their left handed daughter, and the other for their other 2 right handed daughters. The storage spot underneath is great, and the kids love the little tray on the side for their crayons or colored pencils. It even has a cup for crayons, but my children use this as a drink holder. It's great.I would recommend this to all.Read Best Reviews of Alex My First Desk Adjustable for "Righties" or "Lefties" Here
My father bought this desk for my son's 3rd birthday last year. He eats at it, colors on it, sits at it to watch tv, etc. It gets use every single day. My now almost 2 year old daughter uses it also for the same things. They've gotten to where they BOTH want it at the same time so we're going to have to get another one. It's great b/c it easily fits almost anywhere, is very sturdy, and very attractive. We get compliments on it everytime people come over. You can't go wrong with this desk!!!!
Want Alex My First Desk Adjustable for "Righties" or "Lefties" Discount?
I had researched a lot of different desk products by Alex and decided on this one, primarily because of the other reviews I had read which rated it very highly. I'm glad that I did.My 20 month old got this for Christmas and has used it almost every day since. It is sturdy, attractive and versatile! It is also very easy to assemble.
The reasons I did not give this item 5 stars are:
1. The desk is made from pressboard/particle board no suprise, but a couple of the main pieces arrived with corners that were damaged. It didn't effect its fuctionality, however, I would have prefered, of course, if it wasn't damaged in any way.
2. The canvas bag that hangs on the back of the chair is very thin and doesn't hold much. Also, the way that it is sewn makes it difficult to get into because of the tension.
3. I sort of wish that the under-chair shelf had a back on it so that the items placed on it couldn't get pushed out the back and just end up on the floor.
Other than the above mentioned issues, we really love this desk and would recommend its purchase to any one who has a toddler!

Although very cute, this set is too small to be of use except to very small toddlers. For our preschool children it was not appropriate. I sent it back to Amazon immediately.Love this set. These have held up to so much use and you can't tell they've even been used a day.Wish I could afford all plan toys.My kids have never mentioned that they are not colorful enough but they do mention that their Melissa and Doug pot set is chipped, scratched and broken much of the time.Opt for quality over colorful.
Wordsearch
What would you call a word search game that is not just a puzzle, but a deeply engaging, and often laugh-provoking contest for 2-4 players? How about if it were not played with paper and pencil at all, but on a board a very cleverly designed board that reveals the words you are searching for one at a time, and the first person who can find that word must be the first to squeeze a very silly noise maker, and only then can use her own contact-lens-like plastic chips to cover each letter in that word, every letter being connected in a straight line exactly as you would expect in a word search puzzle? And, to top it all off, what if, when the line in which that word was found crosses a word that another player had already created, that player's chips were removed from the board, and, should that result in another word that is already claimed to suddenly become incomplete, those chips as well were to be removed? So that you can never really tell who is winning, even though you might be 40 chips ahead of everyone else, until the very end of the game?
You'd call it two things. You'd call it Wordquest, because that's the name of the game. And the other thing you'd call it would be Major FUN, because it's exactly the kind of game the Major FUN award was designed for.
Like almost every game published by Goliath, every aspect of the game is designed for ease of use and long-lasting fun. Each of the 20, differently-themed word search puzzles is printed on a large, laminated disc. The disc is mounted on a round base. A transparent grid provides concave receptacles for the transparent, concave, playing chips. Because the chips and the receptacles are both concave, it is extremely easy to use a finger tip to place and remove them during play. A mounting ring fits on top of the grid and covers all the target words. Rotating the ring reveals each word to be found. Zip-lock baggies are provided for the chips, and four pits surround the playing area so that the chips are easily accessible during play. At the end of the game, everything fits back in the box with ease.
Being able to remove words that the opponents have already scored is probably one of the most compelling of all the clever mechanics that have gone into making Wordquest as fun as it is. Though there is no strategy involved in playing the game, when you successfully cross words with another player you get the same sense of smug superiority as you would if your victory were actually justified.
And then there's that squeaky, exclamation-mark-like thing that you use to announce that you've been the first to find a word. It makes such a perfectly silly sound that it's almost hard to take it seriously, even if you're the one who didn't find the word.
Younger children who are old enough to successfully solve word search puzzles might have difficulty with the small chips and the competitive aspect of the game. We'd recommend it to families with kids who are old enough to appreciate both. And, of course, to anyone who likes the visual and conceptual challenge of word search puzzles. Even if you don't like word search puzzles.

If you like wordfind books, then you'll love this game. It's challenging and different than most other board games. It's not a game I'd play for a long period of time, but would probably stop playing after complete one round. However, my friends who have played it like it.I recommend it as something different, and it's fun for all ages.My daughter's (7) after school program has this game and she came home begging for it. Amazon is one of the only places I found it.It works on finding word quickly and is learning fun.I recommend the extender kit if your child likes it to increase the variety of play.
Lionel Pennsylvania Flyer Freight Train Set
- 0-8-0 locomotive and tender, boxcar, 3-dome tank car, caboose, eight curved FasTrack sections, three straight FasTrack sections, one FasTrack terminal section, PowerMax transformer, smoke fluid, billboard with two images, ten telephone poles
- Transformer controlled forward, neutral and reverse operation
- Realistic air whistle in tender, puffing smoke unit and operating headlight
- Powerful maintenance-free motor and traction tires
- Die-cast metal locomotive body with metal trucks
Some of the differences are notable:
The Engine is very nice, similar to our Santa Fe engine all metal, heavy in the hands feels very solid (which is why you get an O-gauge set in the first place in my opinion This is probably the first electric toy a kid will get that (if properly cared for) will last long enough to be passed down to their kids Wheel configuration is 0-8-0, meaning no front or back guide wheels, just 8 powered wheels in the center. As a plus it has someone driving the train inside! and another odd-plus is a working-coupler in the front (you kids who watched "Thomas The Tank Engine" on TV will know what to do with this part!)
The Coal-Car has the same whistle mechanism as our much louder Santa-Fe, and it sounds when you hit the whistle button on the controller and, yes it does whistle, but at a low, kind of far-away tone.
There is a 3-dome tanker car again, nice feel to it looks really great with authentic looking markings and steel wire wrap-around -seems very solid.
A very nice Box car w/ sliding doors -compares favorably with our circa 1997 boxcar, feels a bit more solid even.
Caboose More solid than our older caboose, with a better light/connecting wheel beneath stays lit with a steady light as it goes around the track.
The Track: FasTrack is almost a revelation for people who were used to the older 0-27 and 0-36 all metal track. Note: It does take some considerable force to connect it, so your kids might need some help with this part. On the plus side it works great on floors and carpets and it looks authentic with a gravel track-bed. On the minus side, it is a bit harder to connect and I found it to be noisier than our other 100+ year old track design (O-36 the number means the size of the circle in inches that you can make when only using the round sections.
Also note You may want to consider ordering some extra track sections. This set doesn't come with an X-Cross-over and only has 4 total straight sections (1 is the powered FasTrack terminal section) Amazon and affiliates have it for $6.75 + tax and/or s/h per section, but 2 of our local hobby shops in Queens have them for $4 each (TIP: Shop locally for the tracks!) The included sections only allow for a rather small 40" x 60" layout, which might not be enough to make it around the Christmas tree AND accommodate presents.
Nice touches: 1 billboard and 10 telephone poles (TIP: use Fun-tak to adhere these to the floor for non-permanent Christmas-tree type setups or they will be falling down all over the place)
0.5 Fl Oz of smoke fluid is included. (Hobby shops have a big 4-6 oz bottle for about $6 each when this runs dry) go very light on this stuff as it can flood the engine Use 1-4 drops at a time.
The controller is where this set really comes together It feels much better than the older one and the connections are very high quality. The train can run at full speed (which would cause a de-railment on our older set) which will is certain to delight young and old alike.
One bummer the button on the controller for the bell needs an extra car with a bell function in order to work. (Mommy, Daddy, can we get one? Please!?)
Also: Our older set had more extras (and it also cost more) like a working log roller, button-operated de-coupler, and a working crossing gate. These things and others can be added to this set, but again, for the money ($137 as of mid-Dec. 2011) this is a *realy* good deal.
So to sum up: Excellent build quality, high speed fun with nice touches for a bargain price. Some adult help to assemble is advised (go easy on that smoke fluid! -tell 'em only 2-4 drops per hour) Get More track as 40"x60" sounds big but is pretty small for a train of this caliber from a local hobby shop @ $4 per/track (and maybe an accessory or two) -and you will make this a full 5-star experience!

I bought this as an identical replacement for one that my oldest brother gave to me when I was 4 and very sick. Now that he is terminally sick, I wanted to give back to him the same hope he gave me by giving me his train. This train is identical to the one he gave to me 46 years ago except with some technology changes. It has lifted his spirits and he has a new viewpoint towards his illness! He's not giving up like he once was. What more can a product do but give back hope to someone who is very ill. Thanks!Read Best Reviews of Lionel Pennsylvania Flyer Freight Train Set Here
I received the Penn Flyer Lionel Trainset on Tuesday December 6, 2011.Good early impression of the train.Trainset was purchased to go under the christmas tree. The engine feels real solid and the cars seem fine. The coupling mechanism are plastic though and seem that they could be a bit more fragile that I would have thought. There is no bell on this trainset but there is a horn.So far so good. Also, though the price was reasonable ($159).Lionel Pennsylvania Flyer Freight Train Set

This is a great train set.The engine is heavy and the cars are pretty durable. The engine smokes as it runs.My toddlers love operating the train. My two yr old learned to operate the controller though he only understands the fastest setting (sigh). The tracks stay together and are very durable. This train is great for "under the Christmas tree" and everyday use.The set is described as with an "air whistle" and the controller has a button for the whistle, however, either the whistle does not work or the train does not have one.Still a great set!Update Dec 8, 2012:
Brought this set out of the attic and setup under my Christmas tree for this year.NO glitches, NO hassles, and this time, the whistle worked...I really like this set!I mean, my toddlers really love the set.Ordered more tracks, again. This time because this train is going around a 12' Christmas tree...
This was a great gift for the kids to go around the tree. Works great.Had to buy a few more straight track though to go all around the tree.Track costs a lot ($5 a piece).I plan on buying more next year.

A Game Of Thrones
Most niche board games come with extremely thick manuals filled with idiosyncratic rules to govern every situation. They may be enjoyable, but they take forever to learn and you generally cannot get non-gamers to invest the time.We feared this game would be the same, but I sat down with my wife, kids, and a family friend so that we could walk through the manual and we quickly realized that the rules were especially consistent and logical.Even my 12-year-old daughter picked them up quickly.
If you're looking for a comparison, I'd say that among the traditional war games this one most closely resembles Diplomacy, and anyone who has played Diplomacy will find the rules particularly comfortable to learn. The action choices are similar, and determined in advance in a similar fashion.Randomness plays little role in battle outcomes. And, like Diplomacy, the game even permits the addition of a negotiation session as players make non-binding deals with one other.
But don't take these comparisons too far. This isn't Diplomacy with a new thematic overlay. It would take too long to go into all the unique features of this game, but I'll highlight three big ones:
(1) Different territories offer different resources: Troops, Supplies, Power. If you also factor in whatever direct military advantage taking a territory might bring, the result is that players must make uncertain choices about which advantages to pursue and when to pursue them.
(2) Players periodically bid for positions of political influence that can help them out later, producing a nice tension between saving your resources vs. investing them in gaining potentially useful advantages.
(3) A group of savages called "wildlings" will attack occasionally, threatening all the players at once. The rules set up an intriguing collective-action problem: Contribute too much to repelling the invasion, and your rivals will have gained a relative advantage.Contribute too little and the marauders roam the countryside, killing your people before they return home.
Does the game have problems? We've noticed one: The arrival of troops and supplies is governed by event cards, so sometimes a strategy will be stymied not because of any strategic error but because the needed card stubbornly refuses to pop up.But, by the odds, that kind of difficulty would only appear in a small percentage of games.
Finally, please note that I have not read the George R.R. Martin novels that served as a point of departure for this game.I cannot testify to its level of success capturing the world depicted in the books, only its success at creating a fun and exciting gaming environment. At that task the game designers have succeeded brilliantly.
The wonder of this game is matched only by it's complexity. To compare it's similarites with Risk, the only other strategy board game I have played, is to say they both have armies. The differences then take flight with an innovative battle system which involves no luck only strategy, ships to give a whole new element to consider with the transport and aid they offer, a system of bidding for three seperate offices which greatly affect the players ablities to operate on the field of battle. Consider before purchusing the depth of the game, as not only dose it take time to memorize the rules but the game itself takes time to set up with its many pieces. Yet there is no board game I have ever played that rewards skill rather than chance the way this one dose. Simple games are fun to pass the time, but to play A Game Of Thrones is a rich and rewarding exsperiance. All in all it takes one game to fully comprehend the game and it's workings and after that things go much smoother as exsperiance grows. To me worth every cent. This is a great game. If you like games of strategy with a great story behind it, this is the game for you. The game doesn't require that you have read the books though. If you've read the books then you'd probably agree with me that this board game really brings out the best of the books. It's a very well designed game. Honestly this game is very balanced and it's hard for one player to run away with it. It's fun. A lot of fun. And yes... Winter is coming...

This game is the definition of strategy game. Gone is the dice mechanic of Risk and having one guy in Indonesia defending Australia from the invading horde. Gone is the marches across entire continents with improbably large forces from Asia. This set speedily reduces the diplomatic dealings of Diplomacy while still retaining the elements of mystery and subterfuge. This game has ruined me for playing Risk and Diplomacy and has replaced them both on my game shelf. This game is for five players (six with the Clash of Kings expansion) set in the world of the novels, Westeros, and deals with five of the royal houses seeking the throne after the death of Robert Barratheon. The houses are; Greyjoy, Stark, Barratheon (Stanis), Tyrell, and Lannister. Scattered about the continent, each house is tasked to capture and sway other feifs to their cause, through conflict if needed.
Actions are determined by tokens that are placed face down on the board with your armies. You can try to ally and bargain but, never, are you allowed to reveal your marker until it is time to flip them all. Never are you allowed to be 100% sure of your alliance! Once all tokens are down, they are revealed and resolution takes place by order of influence within the court of Westeros. Army size is regulated by supply limits in areas taken and held, the ability to recruit more soldiers limited by the tides of the Westeros Deck draw at the start of each turn. This one random action in an otherwise planned game forces players to carefully consider conflicts since (as it is really) casualties are hard to replace with more trained soldiers.
Actual conflict is won or lost based upon the size of the armies involved, support from flanking players (if they decide to answer the call), and the general leading the army. Players have a deck of 5 cards of leaders from the novels. These cards are selected by the players in the conflict and will decide the total combat effectiveness and total casualties in the conflict. Generals are balanced in special abilities and power among all players and it now becomes a matter of deciding how powerful a leader you must select versus how powerful a leader your opponent will flop down. Once used, the general is set aside until all generals in a players deck is used anf forcing players to carefully gauge when to use the 'big guns' and how important regions are to hold.
Players, amid all of the conflict, must also bid for influence within the lands they occupy. This is important for two big reasons. The Black Watch on the Wall is undermanned and at a moment's notice may attack. When this action takes place, players must secretly bid influence to drive back the invaders or suffer the consequences. There is also the influence within the courts that must be bid on. The areas of influence are the Iron Throne, Messengers, and Feifdoms. The Iron Throne track determines order of resolution with the person in the highest position breaking all ties of influence. Messengers provides players with the ability to use more 'high end' orders (March +2, Defense +2, etc) and access to the Ravens to switch an order after they are revealed. Feifdoms determines winners in ties of conflict (higher seat assures victory) and the player at the top can use the Valyrian steel once a turn to grant a combat bonus to his army.
A focus on a strategy of cards rather than dice means that actual battle tactics and army size determies victory. No more is the opposing player slicing through your mass of troops because he rolled higher than you. Gone is the single soldier holding off an entire invading horde. More importantly, allied players can lend you help in battles or betray as suits their goal. Unlike Risk, this game permits cooperation and even encourages it as the lone player will be taken down by allied forces.
If you are a fan of strategy and military war games, you will want to pick this up. If you come to enjoy this game, I highly reccomend getting the expansions.

I haven't read all the books in the Song of Ice and Fire series but I don't think that is necessary to enjoy this game. The game is easy to setup and the rulebook and rules aren't as complicated as other Fantasy Flight Games. And this game is ideal for over three players but still enjoyable enough with just three. Each player plays as one of the major houses from the book and the objective is to control the most strongholds by the end of the game. The game is divided into ten rounds and each round is composed of phases. The first phase is a martial phase followed by a planning phase where players place their orders for the current round. In the next phase players take turns executing their orders and in the final phase players make arrangements for a new game round. Most of the action takes place during the execute orders phase where players can move troops, attack to control territory, collect power tokens, as well as other strategic orders such as raid, defend, and support nearby troops in combat. There are other rules such as drawing cards at the beginning of each game round. When cards are drawn, they can trigger specific events and conditions that affect the overall game.Cards can also allow mustering of troops and reinforcements, voting on the three power icons of the game: the Iron Throne, the Valyrian Sword, and the Raven, whose name I forget at the moment. Each power icon grants special abilities for the player who controls them. There are other situations where players must vote and give power in order to prevent changes in the game.
This game is as much of a tactical strategy game as it is a negotiation and game of voting with power tokens.Players for the most part are competing against one another but in certain situations can cooperate to gain an advantage against other players. The game is not overly complex and is a must for fans of A Song of Ice and Fire series. The game can last around 3 to 4 hours and as previously stated is ideal for more than three players but still enjoyable with just three.

Gears Of War The Board Game
To help me understand the rules, I watched youtube videos of a guy playing through the first mission.I'm a visual learner, so this helped immensely.
I bought a cheap plastic tackle box to put the pieces in, and it helps when looking for tokens or figures when playing.
I picked up some card sleeves and I'm glad I did, because one on my friends already spilled soda on some cards, but they were protected so all is well.
GM-less co-op? Constantly dynamic maps? Detailed figures and quick turns? Solitaire mode? Sure, you've heard it all before, but this time, you've actually FOUND it! CoreyK & FFG's 'Gears Of War: The Board Game' has instantly risen to be one of my most favourite games, purely on the *delivered* promise of real co-op. A bit more direct and far less lengthy° than 'Arkham Asylum', this has become an instant hit amongst my gaming friends and family because truly, everyone can play: everyone can help set up the map without getting an advantage over any other player; everyone can resolve combat phases by rolling for the enemy Locust Horde while still taking action and rolling for their own characters on their own turns; the shuffled cards leave everyone wondering what will happen next. By the second round of turns, everyone had figured out the flow of their hand and gameplay was speeding up.
'Gears' or not, this is a superbly crafted war game simulator, something that isn't 'Warhammer 40K' long but never dull, either! The AI system in particular is just brilliant, offering simple mechanics that result in massive overall effect, making it easy to implement, but complex enough to surprise and thrill you, too! The closest games that comes to mind: this combines the randomly-generated map-building of 'Betrayal At House On The Hill' with an almost 'D20 Modern'-esque combat rule system, creating a game that is a perfect hour-long roflstomp for a gaming group. It's even fun on your own, as I read the 1P notes so much, I had to try it! It's also very modular, meaning you can play to a certain point, then "save game" for another time, because each mission is nicely split up in setup and objectives (as is the map-generation, as a result). This is a nice shift in design than other CoreyK games, like 'Starcraft' (Superb! Infinitely long!) and 'RuneWars' (Great! Did I already use up "infinitely"? Insanely long!), so you can really make this a part of a gaming night, rather than a focus game. With the swiftness of turns that keeps people drawn in, it sometimes becomes hard to break *away* from GoWtBG!
° And with everything in box! No expansions, thus far! No real need for them, either, although BoardGameGeeks has had some great ideas for new missions to run. Also! HeroClix figures are just the right size to match the 1.5" figures included in box! This means you could expand the character roster yourself, like I did, to add a female character, AnyaStroud, to the mix. Exceptionally well-crafted game.

Gears of War the board game is very well designed as both an extremely fun board game as well as a great addition to the Gears of War collection. It is surprising every time something new happens in the board game how easy it is to relate to something that would actually occur in the same way in the video games.. As a cooperative game it is nice to be able to use teamwork to overtake the locust horde, rather than fighting to take each other out. For every number of players it is still challenging to complete every mission's objective, but without feeling completely overrun. My fiancé who has never played any of the video games cannot stop talking about how fun this game is to pay.Read Best Reviews of Gears Of War The Board Game Here

Let me say off the bat, I am not a fan of Gears of War the Video Game. I have nothing against it, I am just not a fan of First/Third Person shooters. I have played it a few times to understand it is basically your Aliens/HALO/40K type humans vs. the alien Horde romp. What I do like is the quality of Fantasy Flight's board games and I'm a sucker for Dungeon crawls (esp. Sci Fi themed) like Space Hulk, Warhammer Quest and Castle Ravenloft, to name a few. Gears of War was on my watch list and I picked it up when I saw it on deep discount here on Amazon ... Getting a $70+ FFG game for less than 40 was too good to pass up.My quick review of the game:
It's a slightly different spin on the crawler boardgame ... you are more or less compelled to take bold actions every turn, else you will get crushed in the unending wave of aliens, who are not anywhere near as squishy as you are. The basic mechanic is that your hand of cards is your bank of actions and your life. You can discard a card and take a basic action like move or perform a basic attack. or you can do what is on the card (in order, with little or no modifications) and hopefully have a big turn, but you must keep enough cards in your hand to soak damage, react to attacks and help your allies out when they need a hand. This game is divided into areas as opposed to the common grid, so movement, range and line of sight are a bit atypical (kudos for a line of sight ruler for determining LOS, instead of counting squares). The game certainly has some Ravenloft DNA (the enemy AI is on rails, but havinga semi random deck is nice no overlord is needed) as well as descent (weapons/abilites will get triggered off of symbols on the dice for a bit of interest and to make the human soldiers not so 'samey')
There is a bit of the 'we have to make this an homage to the video game' so there is an ever present aspect of collecting ammo and weapon drops. This game does do a good job of making this less clunky than otrher systems I have played and the scenarios are a nice touch .... but there are certainly enough components to kitbash your own random adventure.
My only real complaint is the play time is really through the roof. I thought the game's design to keep the humans constanlty on the move would keep things brisk, but in true crawler fashion, even the introductory scenario can take two hours to finish, becuase the game will choke you with enemies seemingly afgter each advance you make ...
that said, it certainly fits into that category of cooperative games that are fun to play win or lose, the game will make for some epic turns but it is a grinder of sorts that you measure more in 'how close were we to winning this time?' than worrying about ultimate victory ... but I'm sure when things do fall in place and the teamwork pans out and you do win that one game against the locust forces, it will be huge!

I was under the impression it was a centerpiece of all those pieces because they didn't give a choise of what color or what number etc.I see now they have sold individually added to it which is still desiving I think but I gave it 3 stars for that reason otherwise it looks ok on the shelf in front of a racing horses picture I have in my husbands bathroom... think they should of showed choice of color etc. to make sure people know it is only one horse.Read Best Reviews of HORSE AND JOCKEY CENTERPIECE DECORATION (Sold Individually) Here

The product did not look the way it does online. The horses are very poorly made and several of them arrived scratched or broken. Despite the high price of the items, plus having to pay for shipping, I then had to pay for the cost of shipping them back. I was incredibly disappointed with the description of this item. But, you get just one of the 3.. You don't get to choose.. a random selection is made for you. After my event this will be thrown out. It is VERY expensive for what it is. This is a Made in China dollar store toy that should cost a dollar.Melissa & Doug Sunny Patch Seaside Sidekicks Sand Cupcake Set
In the cupcake set, one daughter used the four cupcake molds to serve as "cups" for the scoops of ice cream she created from the ice cream set (though she also offered cones as an option for her customers). My younger daughter used the cupcake "tin" to create four cakes which she then turned out onto the cookie sheet from the cookie set.The sprinkle can (that came with the cookie set and the ice cream set) was a hit with both girls and I was glad to have two! These toys are well made and durable and will be enjoyed by my girls for many years.

As with most Melissa and Doug products, this set is very durable and made with quality materials...unlike most beach sets you'll find. I purchased the cookie, cupcake, and ice cream sets as well as the nesting pails. All are great. They provided hours of fun and creativitiy. I am sure they will last a very long time.Read Best Reviews of Melissa & Doug Sunny Patch Seaside Sidekicks Sand Cupcake Set Here
I purchased this for my three year old granddaughter to take on a beach vacation. She played for hours with this set.She made "cupcakes" for everyone decorated with shells, seaweed, little sticks and stones and served them on large seashells.I agree with another reviewer that the icing tool has little use as it is flat, but my granddaughter used it as a little knife to cut our cupcakes. The pieces are sturdy and colorful. We even used the molds to make little houses when we made a sand village. This was well worth the money!Want Melissa & Doug Sunny Patch Seaside Sidekicks Sand Cupcake Set Discount?
My son received this as a third birthday gift.He has played with it in our backyard sandbox. It is a cute product, but a bit too advanced for him.I think that this would be most effective as a beach toy or perhaps with a water table -somewhere where you have access to wet sand, which sets the cupcakes in the molds better.Overall, very cute, but not good if you only have "dry" sandbox sand.
