This toy seems to be the "economical version" of the Old Century Baseball Tabletop Games made by the same company.Instead of 3 ramps, this game only has 1.It is also much smaller.Overall, my 8 year old and 11 year old really like it and play with it from time to time.It doesn't hold their attention as long as a nintendo DS (what does?), but they'll bang around on it for a good 15-20 minutes a few times a week.I like it because the price was right and it's not plastic.It really is wood.It sounds funny, but it just feels good to play this game.Additionally, the unit is built very well and is proably more durable than one might expect.They didn't scrimp on manufacturing this unit and I would expect their other games are the same.

I got this game for my 6-year-old son in my parents' name for Christmas 2005, and it was his favorite toy. He loves baseball, and of course pinball carries its own intrinsic interest and sense of fun. He's especially interested in it if I play with him, so there's a definite positive social aspect to the game as well. Our 6-year-old son just loves this game!It was super easy to assemble, easy to learn how to play, and the games go by fairly quickly and are exciting.Plus it doesn't make all those noises that almost all the new, electronic toys make.It seems pretty durable and well-made and we're very happy with what we got for the price.

My 10-year-old son loved this game while it lasted.Overall, I would have rated it 5 stars except it lasted about three months.After that, the skimpy assembly that holds the plunger together (the metal rod that launches the ball into the game) fell apart and a tiny metal screw was lost.I contacted University Games to inquire about replacement parts.Their super-friendly and helpful customer service department told me they don't have parts, and promised instead to replace the game.However, three months later we have never received a replacement game, repairs parts, or any other resolution.

Given this experience, I cannot say I would recommend this product to anyone else, nor would I really be inclined to buy another product from University Games.

Don't say I didn't warn ya .......

UPDATE: In all fairness, University Games did finally replace this game with a new one, free of charge.No problems with the new one .... yet.

The Harvil MLS Striker Soccer Table has been a great addition to my home game room. My kids absolutely love it. They have a blast and my son, the soccer fan, loves seeing the logos of all his favorite teams. The table works perfectly! Its a cheaper model by comparison to other Foosball tables, but provides all the features of an expensive model.

Its smaller size, lower weight and lower cost make it a smart choice.Additionally, this table has a printed design showcasing MLS teams, versus a generic hardwood backdrop.

One word of caution, assemble it where you intend to use it.I put mine together in a work area, and found it near impossible to get through standard doorwarys, being entirely my fault!

LEGO DUPLO Tubes Experiment Set

My son received an earlier version of this toy about 7 years ago when he was 2 from a wonderful "aunt."He was very interested in Duplo at that point and this toy totally occupied him for an hour or even two in my office.He did have trouble constructing complex "mazes" with the tubes at age 2 but was able to put short lengths together.By age 4, he could build anything with it.Somewhere around age 3, he surprised me by showing me a full tubular "donut" that he built all by himself out of 8 of the curved tube segments with one of the balls trapped inside.I am very serious about this toy introducing scientific concepts to toddlers.The little seesaw looking piece on the bottom left when built out with some Duplo rectangular pieces demonstrates balancing weights.The whole set is about geometry and physics.And don't forget FUN!Just about every child loves to build ball mazes and this toy has tunnels and pop-through gates, etc.Durable as well.I passed ours along recently to my scientific brother who just started his family, and it looked brand new.Simply an awesome toy all the way around.So glad to see there is still a version of it out there for others to buy and enjoy.WTG Lego!

We had this from when my son was 2 years old. He was fascinated with ball runs of all sorts but got bored with the limited ball run configurations of baby toys. I was excited to have found this set. The concept is great. Create your own twisty ball run. Go as high as you can and the only limit is the number of tube pieces you have. I bought 2 sets!

This set has been very frustrating to use. My son (until 4 years old) had trouble putting the tubes together because the connection has to be just right. So, all right, I could build and he could play. My son watched patiently while I constructed a ball slide with 8 tube pieces. The ball slide broke with 5-6 runs. The Duplo people often get stuck in the ball slide/tunnel. Not a set for experimenting. We did make ovals and circles and swirled the ball inside. Kids stopped playing with this when they can play with marble run and small Lego. So you are looking at kids under 4 or under 5. Unfortunately the structures are not sturdy enough for kids of this age groups.

Very limited. Only for small scale construction. Not recommended.

I have a home daycare & have been in business 9 years now. We have always had regular Lego duplos for my preschoolers and just recently purchased a duplo table with trundle. After having the same legos for 9 years, I decided to start searching for a few new items. We got a few Thomas Mega Bloks trains, some plastic track, and the Lego community vehicles set. But this tube set is by far the most used & played with. My littles can build small things and laugh as they put people or balls or other Legos down the small fast tubes. With my & my 9yo's help, we can build huge twisty tall structures. Heck, I even have a ball with them!

It comes with a few big base plates for stability(we don't need them since we have a duplo table), which you will need to build big structures. It comes with several kid people figures, about 75 Lego blocks, and many tubes & tube holders. It has several design picture cards for ideas to build & a great tote in which to keep everything together.

If I had to choose only 1 Lego duplo set to buy, this would be it. Lots on regular sized duplos, figures, and tubes with balls. Very very awesome!

I did not realize when I ordered this that the age listed on the product box starts at 1 1/2 years.I almost returned it, as my boys usually enjoy toys over their ages. I am so glad we kept it, it is their favorite toy set.My 3 year old insists on packing it from room-to-room so he can have it handy at every possible moment. The storage bin is very sturdy and handy for portability and organization.

Both love constructing loops and towers and other experiments with the tubing. There are plenty of pieces to build muli-level action and tubes.We build really big systems as a family and have combined our other duplo set (fully interchangeable) to accommodate these. But it is sufficient without extra pieces and bases.

This really keeps them entertained and creating and experimenting with such fun.

It's a great toy and they havent tired of it yet, after a few months and I anticipate it will be enjoyed for several years.

I wish I had found it sooner, I think it is appropriate and entertaining for ages 1-6.

I am updating this review now that my boys are 6 and 7 years old.As I anticipated, they continued to love this set and used it very regularly through about age 5.By 6, they have moved on to Star Wars and Ninjago and LEGO City kits.Although, the six year old who is more creative and really likes building things he still keeps this set by his bed and pulls it out occassionally.This set has been so meaningful to my boys that it will be one of the few items I store away for future days of grandchildren!

I purchased this for Christmas instead of one of the marble maze toys, thinking it might be more fun for young kids.Though the price seemed high, I now know it was worth it.The set comes with some cardboard examples of different things to build, and once I showed my 4 yr old how to do it, to my surprise he really caught on to the idea and enjoys picking out something to build from the pictures on the cards and figuring out how to build what it shows all by himself.It has held his attention more than most toys.I agree with the reviewer who said the tubes are a bit tricky to put together, but it is within the abilities of a 4yr old, given some practice.

Thomas And Friends Wooden Railway - Straight And Curved Expansion Pack

This is probably not the best option unless you want to get really serious with a huge layout.Here is my Thomas recommendation:

The Thomas train sets are great modern versions of the classic indestructible wooden train sets.Simple enough to avoid the toddler age frustrations of getting the cars to run on the track yet complex enough to engage a wide range of ages (up to and including Grandpas).All the stories help with the imagination part....the books & videos provide an endless source of adventures that can be acted out, although most kids are perfectly capable of inventing their own episodes.

Here is my advice, if you are trying to work your way through the maze of start-up options:

First of all, you can spend a fortune on a huge set....even if you can afford it, I would start with something small and give the child the joy of receiving a chain of small but intriguing presents over a long period of time.It fosters the joy of giving/receiving and helps teach them to come back again and again to the same toy...watching it grow, asking for specific items from the stories they hear, etc.Several reviewers suggest painting an old coffee table and this is a great idea.

I suggest the Figure 8 set (the most popular one) or if you want to spend a little bit more, the Conductors Figure 8 set.Both are complex enough to be interesting, but simple enough to give lots of room for growth.Almost immediately I would add a new present of one of the inexpensive engines (you can ask the child which story they like best and get that engine for them....or buy the engine to go with the video or book in the same gift)....these would be Percy The Small Engine, Bill The Yellow Engine, Treavor, (or a bit more $ for:) The Lady Engine, James The Red Engine, Gordon The Express Engine (he's one of the best stories, I think), or Henry The Green Engine.

Now for the good stuff!Give it a month or so, and then reward the child with something really cool like the Barrel Loader or Rusty the Construction 3 Car Set.

I honestly can't see the point in the huge multi hundred dollar system sets.If you want to impress the neighbors or something, go for it, but I'm telling you.....most kids will enjoy a large number of small thoughtful gifts, not a "keep-up-with-the-Jones" effort on your part.

Good behavior can be rewarded with a pick-your-own trip to the store (there are sometimes when a real time shopping trip can't be beat)

By the way, the Thomas stories are based on real restored engines that run in England on the Mid-Hants Railway Watercress line near Winchester (you can read about them an even plan a trip to ride on the real Thomas trains by checking outwatercressline.co.uk).They are a day trip from the London rail stations, although I recommend using a B&B in the Winchester area and staying overnight if you decide to go.Winchester was the center of the old Saxon kingdom of Wessex of King Alfred as well as a major early medieval site (the Cathedral has the tombs of many of the Saxon Kings as well as Jayne Austen and Izaac Walton and it was where Richard the Lionhearted was crowned.)

If your familiar with Thomas train track, have a large area to work with and know you want this expansion set, I would upgrade to five stars. What I have found though is that if you want a lot of flexibility in layouts on the Thomas train table, the 3 1/2" curves & switches offer more options for different layouts. The 6 1/2" curves can be hard to fit & work with on a train table. In defense of the bigger curves though, I've found the battery powered trains have an easier time with the larger radius curves especialy when pulling coaches and they sometimes get hung up on the switches. (This really is my kids toy)

This is a good little addition to any track set that you might have, but it would be nice if they added more of the smaller, tighter bends do the set (or made a separate set of them).The larger bends are nice but take up WAY too much space sometimes, where the tighter bends make it easier to fit more track on whatever table you are using.That's about the only complaint I have with this set.The Learning Curve track is still the best quality track, even if it is a little more expensive than some of the "generic" track out there.

First off, I guess due to the size, this item takes a couple extra days to be delivered.Not a big problem, as you're told this up front.

There is no picture on the outside of the plain cardboard box, so if you're ordering for a present, the recipient will have no idea what's inside (young kids) save for the words "Air Hockey Table" on the front (fine for adults).Made this mistake for my son's (5yo) birthday.He tore the paper off and stared at the brown box, having no idea what it was.Had to open and show him before he got excited about it.

PROS:Table is packaged very well within a box inside an outer box.There are pieces of wood at the ends to ensure the corners don't get mangled.My table arrived in perfect condition.The looks very nice and with only 4 screws to put in the goals, it was up and ready in no time.This is a plug-in model, so you don't have to worry about batteries (this is also a CON as you need to set up near an outlet, not exactly "portable").

And that's where the fantasy ended...

CONS:While it is a nice looking table, and a perfect size for smaller kids (again, my 5yo), functionally, it's HORRIBLE.The fan is not nearly powerful enough to reach the entire table to keep the puck afloat and is quite loud.A small ring around the center of the table is all you get for real "air" hockey playability.The center of the table, and outside of this small "ring" of air, there's nothing the puck scrapes on the table surface.Dead zones are, therefore, most of the ends of the table, the corners, and the precise middle (the "faceoff" area).Underneath the table, it's obvious why...There is nothing more than a 92mm computer fan providing the air.While this is fine for keeping your PC cool, it's not nearly powerful enough to drive an air hockey table.

CONCLUSION:While my son gets a kick out of it (for the time being), I am sorely disappointed.Again, buyer beware you get what you pay for.Save your money on this model and get something a little more expensive to provide a much better experience.

(Maybe I'm just jaded.About 40+ years ago, when I was a kid, I had a nice table.The puck was actionable all over the table never hit the table surface.I had hours of fun on that unit.Astounding to see how far air hockey games have *fallen* in quality since then...)

Synco Leader Carrom Board Set

The upside is that is ships well packaged and delivers good value for the money (considering that finding a good carrom board in the US is quite challenging). I bought it to play with my kid so the quality was not super important to me.We do have good times!

The downside is that for anyone who has played on a good board, this board will feel cheap and flimsy. The surface is not as smooth as it could be (you will still get 2 rebounds).The bumpers are think and the rebounds feel uncontrolled.The striker that comes with it is below par but the coins are decent.

In short, you get what you are paying for.

Blue's Clues Memory Game

I just bought this game a few weeks ago for my son's 6th birthday...and we love it!

This game comes with 72 colorful cards of sturdy cardboard base, a plastic tray, and instructions. For younger children, you don't *have* to use all 72 cards.

This is a great game to improve memory, even for adults. While some pictures are straightforward (Tickety Tock, Purple Kangaroo, Side Table Drawer, the blue pawprint, Mr. Salt, Mrs. Pepper, Cinnamon, etc.), there are some tricky cards. For example, you'll have a card with Blue gazing at a butterfly, as well as Blue gazing at a caterpillar. Then you'll have a card with Blue painting a spider, and another where Blue is painting the sun. Or Joe with a blue shirt, and Joe with an orange shirt.

I suprised at how much *I* get a kick out of it--and my son and husband enjoy it as well!

My son loves Blues Clues and Memory so I thought this would be the perfect choice.Unfortunately, I've found that some of the pictures are very similar to other ones in the deck, so my 4 year old son tries to match up pictures that don't exactly match.For example... There may be a cat sitting in the grass in a blue and white plaid shirt and in another picture it's the same cat in the grass but in a green and white plaid shirt.And these aren't vibrant colors that can't possibly be mistaken for each other.These colors are relatively muted.At first glance, I even had a bit of difficulty.As we played on I realized that I had accidentaly matched two tiles incorrectly.Now, I'm not the most intelligent person on the face of the earth, but I'm not stupid either and I feel that if an adult can make that mistake that it would probably be quite easy for a 4 or 5 year old to make that same mistake.

27" Tabletop Soccer Foosball Table Game w/ Legs

The table is very well made.Much more than I expected for the price.

Easy to assemble.My children put it together themselves before playing with it.

I bought this foosball table a short while ago, and it was pretty good. The main selling points were the facts that it was fairly portable and had 3 sets of men for each side, rather than the traditional 2 sets. I received the foosball table A LOT earlier than expected. The only thing I didn't know was that some assembly was required. Actually, quite a bit of assembly was required. The table is a great thing to take on the go. As a warning, do NOT rip shots or handle it roughly! The rods holding the players are rather cheaply made, and will bend. It takes some doing to get it back the way it was, but I'm afraid too much of this and the rods will break. Also, the goals do not hold all shots. Occasionally a shot will, if hit hard enough, go through the goal.

Overall, this foosball table is pretty good for the price, but don't expect too much.

Butterfly Yari Penhold Racket

Does not have solid bounce feeling when I use it to hit the ball. The only reason I do not return this racket is I cut it to comfort my hand grip before I test the performance of it.

I searched for the very best gift for my sister's first grandson, and this is what I picked. He loves it. She said he plays with it for at least an hour every day. He looks for it as soon as he gets up. He's 18 months old and this will stimulate his imagination. He can pretend it's whatever he wants. You'll see this in many doctors offices, and some kid is always playing with it. The last time we went to the dentist, 2 of my granchildren headed right for this (ages 10 & 12). Unlike some other reviews, I found this version of the Barney doll to be of good construction, a size that matched what it said and a coloration that matched what is expected.Some complained the color was not a true "Barney" purple, but this one very much is true to Barney color.There are so many similar versions, you need to look closely.Admit trying to get it to sing takes a press that most little children will not be able to do.It takes considerable pressure, however this can be a plus where you can control the usage vs it constantly making noise with a small child pressing it over and over. For reference, I am the grandfather of the child so maybe the last comment is just being an older guy.Overall I found this to be a good buy, if not a little pricey.But when your almost 2 year old grand daughter loves an older cartoon character that isn't as easy to find, you do what you have to do.Bottom line, she loves it and it is holding up after about 5 or 6 weeks.

I couldn't find a singing Barney anywhere until I located it on Amazon. I received Barney within a couple of day after shipment, thank you sooo much for the fast shipping response and I got it just in time before Christmas. It was brand new in the box. The only slight issue I have is it don't sing "I love you, you love me, we are a happy family with a great big hug and a kiss from me to you, wont you say you love me to, instead it sing I love you, you love me, we best friends like friends should be, etc etc. But overall its wonderful and I will be recommending using Ty's Toy Box again, again & again. I just received this toy today for my daughter who will be 2 in September. I was amazed that it came today... it took only 2 days!!! I am very pleased with how fast it arrived, how much it looks like the barney on the show, how the voice matches to the barney we watch, and how great of condition this toy is in. My daughter is hooked on barney and ever since i opened him for her she hasn't put him down. the only thing that i would complain about this toy is that the button you push to hear him sing is not easily pushed. i had to push kinda hard to get him to sing for her. otherwise great product!

This case does a decent job in protecting your TT racket. The zipper is smooth and the cushioning is fairly ok to give adequate protection. However, if you are having a slightly over-sized racket or a thick handle, this case might be a bit too tight. It would have been great if this case had a strap. Overall good value for money and Amazon as ever shipped it super fast!

If you have a relatively inexpensive racket, then this case will do. It has a padded inside, but no strap to hold your racket in place. This is important because if your racket moves around a lot inside, the edges of the rubber can become damaged.

If you have an expensive racket, I recommend you get a hard case, like Killerspin Optima Racket Case Choose Color or Killerspin Table Tennis Racket Case.

Alex Toys Pirates of The Tub

I wouldn't waste your money. I saw this advertised in a parenting magazine as a hot new toy... but it's not. There are like a million pieces and they don't hook together like they say they do. The kids spend over half the time trying to jam the pieces together and it's more frustrating than it is fun. My boys (3 & 5 years old) ended up just taking a bath with tons of little pieces floating around. I finally got the pieces together for them and every time they touched it it just fell apart. My kids love tub toys and this one got played with once and they didn't want to bother with it again. It might be good for an older child... but I doubt it.

My granddaughter, age 2.5, could not wait to take a bath. While she was waiting, she set the whole thing up on the living room floor. She had a whole little story going.

There are a lot of pieces, as some have said, but this was a big plus for us. More pieces to make up stories about. And she loves putting things together.

She's only had it a couple of weeks, but it looks to be well made. The little pirate characters are very cute and not flimsy. Her little brother, who is teething, loves to chew on them.

This is a great toy and big hit.

I purchased this for my 2 year old daughter for Christmas. When we opened it, it does in fact come with approximately 42,000 pieces give or take. I gave her about half to play with since our tub is small and I didn't want her to suffocate among the foam. She loves the Sh(t outta these things. The one down side is the squirt toys themselves never worked. The plastic along the bottom seam was never sealed so they don't hold water to squirt. Fine by me since squirt toys hold a plethora of microbial goo. 4 stars for the pirates with incontinence, but other than that a pretty fun toy.

There are enough pieces that they can each create their own scenes and not have to fight over just a few pieces! Little Tikes Thomas and Friends Toy Box

I may have missed it in the product description on-line, but I don't recall seeing the fact mentioned that the two side-walls and the floor of the toy chest are fabric rather than a rigid material.The bottom of the chest does not seal entirely.Those issues may not matter in some instances, but if you intend to put anything heavy in the chest or if you have small items that will gravitate toward the bottom, this may not be what you're looking for.It remains to be seen how the chest will hold up under daily use by active children, or in the event it needs to be moved from place to place.I have my doubts about the product's durability.

Bought this for my 2 kids to put all of their smaller toys in.Very easy to put together, probably took a total of 10 mins.Very sturdy plastic and the railway integrated on top of the lid is also awesome, because they have thomas the train toys that can go with it.It's a decent size not to big and not to small plus the pouches on the side can hold stuffed animals, and smaller toys.My only complaint with it, is that the lid doesn't click into place, it just rests on top. (so you can flip it upside down for the train track) Other than that it's easy for the kids to open and close.Good toy chest for a decent price, would recommend to anyone with kids w/lots of toys!

As another reviewer complained about, the lid isn't permanently hinged and just sits on top with a couple of round pegs on either side to serve as hinges. However, the problem is that when the lid is opened it doesn't stay open, it will sit precariously in the open position for a few seconds and then fall back down. The lid is actually quite heavy and able to hurt. My son is 2 1/2 and is able to open the lid but EVERY time it falls on his head or hands as soon as he tries to reach in the box. He gets as much frustrated as hurt because he can't understand why this box keeps hurting him. Yes, it's cute and durable, but the thoughtless and dangerous design make it unworthy of the Little Tikes logo.

The box performs the function it was designed to do.Hold toys.

However, the lid is not attached and is heavy.It easily slides off when opened and will scratch up your wall if it's against the wall.It's also quite noisy when that happens.

The lid is the biggest disappointment but as I said, the box serves it's purpose.
