Tomy Megasketcher - Magnetic Drawing Board
We got the Tomy to replace the mainstream USA magnetic doodler that we ordered for our 4 year old for Christmas. That one was disappointingly cheap and developed permanent dark spots within minutes of her opening it. (She's a gentle kid, too.) I was pretty frustrated until I saw the Tomy reviews here, and I really wish I'd seen this option sooner.Like other reviewers have noted, this board lacks the annoying cell configuration common to every other magnetic doodler I've seen. It's a smooth writing surface that allows for finely detailed drawings. We've been able to perfectly replicate the drawings on the box, which is pretty exciting for my daughter. The screen is a great size, and the four magnets provided are well-chosen, versatile shapes. It's easy to erase, though the first time you run the erase line down, it just lightens it. My daughter actually loves this function, and has been creating gradations of sorts. Once it's completely erased, it looks brand-new.
The frame is nice and sturdy. The only (possible) flaw I've been able to find is that the little clips that hold the magnets are really stiff, and took some getting used to for little hands; I will say, though, that it's wonderful not having the magnets go missing all the time.
Shipping from the UK took a while, but not nearly as long as predicted. It arrived safe and sound, though it was only packaged in thin, papery cardboard and bubble wrap. My daughter was lukewarm about the previous doodler, but she's completely enamored with the Tomy. I feel like I need to buy a half-dozen and keep them on hand for birthday presents for her friends! It's that awesome.

Absolutely.So, I wondered if it was worth the cost. And then was it worth the estimated ship time. But the ship time (to HAWAII from UK, none the less) was half of the estimate. And I wondered if it would hold up to the stress of shipping. And it did fine, even though it just arrived with a corrugated cardboard envelope marked FRAGILE around the original manufacturer's box.
We really, really like it. At first I thought they did some kind of trickery with the pics to make it look huge and I wasn't expecting it to be as big, but the drawing surface is really generously sized in the proportions of a movie screen. The other thing I liked was that it said it had a smooth drawing line, and it does! It doesn't have the little cells of magnetized pigment that the etch-a-sketch type doodlers have, it's a much thinner film that makes a smoother line, not sure about the technology exactly. There's no pixelated effect that you get with the doodlers. It's like drawing with a fat, hard-graphite pencil. Also, the pen is leashed in a sensible way, plus the point of the pen gets pushed into the body of the pen if you apply more pressure, so that it reduces the chances of puncturing the surface. Another thing that's different is that the erasing knob needs a few swipes up and down to completely erase, but actually I'm excited at the possibilities for layering that that creates.
We put the stamps away within 5 minutes of getting it because we have a 18-month old but we tried them a couple of times and they worked OK. One thing I noticed when we first got it was that it SEEMED to have a very light drawing line, but either the pigment settled and the lines got darker or we got used to it quickly and don't notice any more. Baby's stepped on it a few times but it's been OK, although I don't let him walk on it or pile stuff on it. The drawing surface is firm and secure enough to trace hands and other objects on. We've only had this for about a month but I'm pretty sure that if we don't wildly abuse it (although I did read that it stands up to kids walking on it), this will be one of those toys that just gives and gives. Our boy loves it too..it didn't take him long at all to learn "sketch pad!"

I first bought this toy about 5 years back for my 1 year old son, to enable him to draw as much as he wants while minimizing wastage of paper. From then till now, it's his absolute favorite toy. It goes with him for all his vacations. He draws on it at least 3-4 times a day. Of course, after so many years, it's darkened a bit with a few splotches, but it's still usable. I have already gifted this to a couple of good friends when their kids turned 1. A wonderful educational as well as recreational toy, and as I said, for all ages. Whenever we have any visitors, whether kids or adults, all start doodling on it right away. The smooth lines without the cells (as compared to other doodlers) make a big difference to the final quality of the picture we make. I just bought a new one (Classique), and the eraser is better in that it doesn't make a loud noise on erasing any more. The earlier one had an automatic spring action to pull it back, which would make the loud noise. While erasing, do a slow drag to make sure it erases completely. Sorry to be negative. I thought this would be one of the best as indicated, but you need to slide the slider many, many times before it erases the image. I am keeping it, because the return is not worth my effort. I am very disabled and want this for my 2 yr. old grandson.I would say if you don't mind sliding repeatedly to erase the image, the size is very nice.

Flames of war is a miniature game based on the world war and the Vietnam war. Their miniatures are quite small and hard to paint so you need to put time,money, patience, and motor skills to play this hobby. I just started playing a couple months ago and it is very fun. I am playing both American and Russian armies. The reason I started playing flames of war was that I used to be a warhammer 40k player and I went to my local game club and the club brought in a new game to the store which is flames of war I immediately fell in love with the game. If you used to play warhammer 40k you would know that flames of war is much cheaper than warhammer 40k. Plus flames of war has a longer line of products.The funny thing is that their models is combination of metal and plastic. I am not a really big fan of metal because it tends to bend that is why i gave it 3 out of 5. Also what I think is really nice is that the turrets are magnetized or comes with rare earth magnets. Another thing, they pack their products with foam to ensure the model is not damaged.

This is perfect for my twin granddaughters who are 15 months old. They are just the right height to stand and splash in the water. They have also figured out how to put the balls in the center spiral and watch them come out at the bottom. Then they learned to turn the crank and spin the wheel. This would be a good gift for any toddler. It was easy to put together too.
Butterfly Ranseur Shakehand Racket
This paddle is very basic, suitable for starting players. Although the rubber is ITTF approved you can't generate any spin. I don't recommend this paddle for club level nor competition. I own The (Senshu) Butterfly and the (401). In my opinion the 401 by far is a better paddle and about $10 less. Now the Senshu is an awesome paddle too bad it's discontinued. Folks when you buy something online please write a review, it'll help thanks.

We had an Abby Cadabby themed first birthday party for my daughter.This was used for the cake table of the banquet hall and really was a great detail that added to the Abby theme.The plastic was heavy and durable.In fact, Iwill reuse it for a tea party for her some day!Great quality and fun colors.I wish there was a way to remove the packing folds, but that was a small detail that didn't diminish its cuteness.
Chicago Gaming Signature Foosball Coffee Table
We really thought this table was good for us because we like to entertain. We also thought it would double for some entertainment. Our mistake. The ball keeps getting stuck in areas that can't be reached. you end up quitting because you get frustrated. I'm sorry we did not just buy a nice coffee table.
CONS: There are some areas & edges of the table that feel rough and uneven, they just weren't sanded down properly at the factory. I expected more from a table retailing at $500. Also the player handles are too close to the top of the table. Normally when playing foosball, your forearms are usually at a 45 degree angle to the table top. But with this table if you do that and push the handle all the way in your wrist will bang against the edge of the table top. With this table your forearms have to be parallel to the table top to avoid hitting your wrists. This problem would've been easily solved if the handles were extendable past the table top. And because the table top gets in the way of your wrist movements, experienced players will have a hard time making power shots or quick moves.
PROS: Looks beautiful. Despite some finishing problems, the overall detail of the table looks great. The foosball field lines appear to be separate inlaid pieces of wood, not just cheap decals. It provides decent casual play and is sturdy enough to withstand handling by children and over-eager adults.

The biggest benefit of this table is simply how great it looks.the inlaid veneers, beveled edges and finish all complete this piece and make it an easy conversation starter.Assembly was relatively simple and straight forward.The Build quality is very satisfactory, solid wood parts, seems very firm after assembly.the rods are telescoping so you do not bash your opponent!that is to say they do not push through to the other side and poke them, very neat and useful on a smaller table.The Play on this table was not initially as good as i would have liked.the ball could squeak by you on the outside, even with a defender pinned against the wall.and often, the ball could get stuck in a corner and there is little to be done other than to manually move it.I Fixed this problem by shaving the bumpers down which allowed wall play and made getting the ball out of the corner more easily.Be care full not to shave a bumper to far! there is a sweet spot, go no further.
sometimes the foosballs lift up and smack against the glass.This generally happens during wall play, and is why i suspect they had the foosball men constructed far away form the wall to begin with. i simply caution my players not to spin the handles, as any respectable player doesn't partake in that behavior to begin with! if you love spinning handles then this table is perhaps not a great choice.This table sits in my entertainment room alongside other nice wooden accents and furniture, you couldnt ask for a less obnoxious foosball table.Also, It easily shines as a coffee table.

GUND Hedgehog 3" Medium Brown
Its a palm-sized stuffed animal. My girlfriend thinks its pretty cute. I received the medium-brown one. Hair sticks out at random angles at first, but it is easily smoothed down (or spiked back up depending on how you like your hedgehogs).

This DVD features famous Table Tennis player Ryu Seung-Min and his style of Japanese penhold techniques.It covers all of the standard strokes (basic stroke, topspin, push) with the forehand and backhand.It also covers footwork and mulitpart drills, and serves.The techniques are shown many times and at both normal and slow motion speeds.There is also a chapter on the serve, 3rd, and 5th attack sequence as well as the receive, 4th and 6th attack sequence.The DVD menu and text is mostly Korean and Japanese, but the cover has the English subtitles for the chapter names.
There are a few drawbacks.First, Ryu Seung-Min gives a 10 to 20 second verbal introduction in Korean before each major section, which I don't speak.It may not be that important, but I'll never know.Second, the section on serves is pretty repetitive since the serves shown all look very similar and without being able to read the on screen text, the subtleties are lost.
Overall, this is a good introductory video for Japanese penhold players.Despite the language barrier, the DVD is worth buying especially if the alternative is searching YouTube for instructional videos.
Little Leaps Grow-with-Me Learning System
There are other reviews on here that complain of lengthy set-ups. It took me 3 minutes tops. I was even worried about it because I don't have a normal DVD player, we have a Sony Playstation 2. It works great! My son got this for his 1st birthday (yesterday) and I set it up today. I don't think he's really ready for the interaction yet. I was a little disappointed that there are only sample games on these disksyou have to go out and buy the games seperately. A bummer, since the system was $40. But overall,it is good so far. I'll update when my son is able to use the system better. Don't be scared off by the reviews.
I have a 9 month old and a 2.5 year old and since this toy claims to be for ages 9 months 3 years, I figured it would be perfect for both of them. It can be played in baby mode with some simple big buttons for babies or in toddler mode with a joy stick. You can purchase games for either mode.
Our baby has been playing with it in baby mode and there are several nice games available for that.
The toddler mode is disappointing though. First of all, there's only 1 game available for toddler mode. Second, the joy stick is a bit hard to use. Even I sometimes have a hard time getting it to select something. There's a bit of a delay between selecting something and your selection showing up on the tv, so you have to have the patience to move the joy stick and wait for a bit. That's tough for a toddler to do. The toddler game that we have is also very simplistic. We have computer games for him that are more interactive than that. If you have a computer, I'd recommend just getting some toddler computer games instead.
On the plus side, set-up was very easy for us and we don't have a major brand name dvd player.

After reading the other reviews of this product I was worried about setup issues but we got it up and running in a small amount of time.
We went through each of the three sample games (two baby and one toddler
) with my 1 year old.He did not have the attention span to actually hit the buttons to play but he enjoyed the music and characters.We tried the second cd that came in a paper sleeve and discovered a no interaction version of sample games/activities.He loved this video because it was continuous.We will watch this until he is familiar and then try the interactive games. So far I would recommend this product.The characters were so cute and the music was great.

We saw the commercial for this toy, but are a bit disapointed after receiving it and getting it set-up. First, regarding set-up -skip the "Quick Set-Up Guide."The "Quick Set-Up Guide" leaves out an important step -press the big, red button while the green light is still flashing. Save yourself the frustration. Put in the DVD that comes with the system, and follow the set-up guide on the DVD (you'll need to have the quick set-up codes for your DVD player ready). That said, we did manage to get it set-up after some frustration.Set-up took more than 5 minutes, though! It works fine with our Cyberhome DVD player. The "game controller" is basically a remote control of sorts for your DVD player.The "game" (DVD) operates on a pause/play basis.The DVD will play for a few minutes, showing your child some new concepts, and then, it will pause and ask your child to press a button to continue/help/hear the answer/etc. Your child can press any of 3 large colorful buttons on the "game controller" to get the "game" to continue. The yellow button slides a bit. The blue button is similar to a light switch -it can be pushed up or down, and is used for scrolling through items on the DVD/game menus. The red button is a standard button, and is used for selecting items from the menus. The problem with the "game" is that it's slow. Baby has to watch several minutes of the program and wait to be asked to press a button (any button will do). My 17 1/2 month old doesn't have the patience to sit, watch, and wait to be asked to press a button. She wants to press all the buttons all the time right now! She pressed the buttons like she was playing the piano until she was tired of that, and then, had more fun climbing all over me like I was a jungle gym as we sat on the couch together. She did not have the attention span to sit through an entire "game" patiently as is intended. The play aspect of the "game" is just too slow. Although I must say that some of the characters ARE cute, and she did enjoy the Baby Cam (from "Say It Baby") through the park with the baby's eye view where she got to identify some of her favorite animals & vehicles -duck, dog, cat, train, & plane. But I still had to keep the game controller away from her until it was time to press a button. (Baby Cam is one of the samples on the DVD that comes with the system.) Do yourself a favor if you buy this game system & buy a game or two to go along with it. You'll be disappointed in the "sample games" that come with the system. They're just a few samples from the actual games. For what you're getting, it gets expensive when you start adding games to the system. We're sure that she'll never use the toddler mode due to the slow pacing. By the time she's that advanced, we'll need to buy her a better game system that's more interactive and more responsive. If your child has the patience to sit, watch for 2-3 minutes or more, wait to be asked to press a button, & watch patiently some more, then you & your child may enjoy this together. If you don't expect too much, then you might not be disappointed.

These are big enough for a toddler to handle. However,once placed, they do not stay ie; they are very loose fitting. Upon building a small tower and trying to lift it, the blocks simply fall apart. Otherwise, these are colorful, large enough to hold in baby hands and they also have a piece with 4 wheels that can be attached.But, I miss the kind of building blocks which I had as a child..with which I was able to actually build something without fear of its falling apart at the slightest touch!

It's Plush, It's Blue what else can you say? My kids were having a Star Wars party and this was one of the toys that was provided for the DVD party. Everyone wanted this particular blue elephant vs the other characters. I should have bought more even though he was part of Jabba's gang (being a bad guy and all). There was great debate whether Rebo was bad or not because he hangs around bad guys and plays the piano for them. For the answer to that question I would reference Lonesome Dove... but that conversation is for another plush animal.

Take Along Thomas & Friends - Thomas The Tank Engine
I purchased this because the battery-operated Thomas (TrackMaster) stopped working. Rolls well on the Take-Along tracks and also on floors.
Whether or not your child is "in to" Thomas, these take along toys are great for toddlers. I believe any child 18 months old will love these little guys. The magnets make it easy for little people to hook and unhook the cars. I can't say enough good things about them.

Even though this table appears to be of excellent quality so far, I rate it low because of the company support. The table arrived by truck and was unloaded by fork lift on a wood pallet. It weighed almost 300 pounds as shipped and was packaged very well and had no damage from shipping. However, there was a defect in workmanship on one of the folding legs with the wheels and the part had to be replaced to make the leg secure. When the company was called the individual that I spoke to did not want to listen to what I had to say and only wanted to know the number of the part needed to be replaced. In order to replace the part and install the new part I had to grind a rivet out and use a nut and bolt to replace it. Another nut and bolt could not be removed therefore it had to be cut off and a new nut and bolt used to replace it. I was able to do this but some individuals may not and have to hire someone to do it. The individual that I spoke to on the phone was very adamant that the rivet and bolt and nut could be removed with a phillips screw driver and hammer and used again. If that is true, I must be stupid. I have never seen a rivet that could be reused with any quality or reliability. I will have to say that the replacement part came promptly when ordered, however these parts are mirror images of each other for opposite legs and of course I received the wrong one so I just made do. Although this game is pegged by slogans on the box that say "A Game for a Couple," I believe this is a great game for any two people that would like to get to know one another better, especially when there may be some ice yet to break -or simply huge differences in lifestyle that one does not want to make an issue about.I love the way the game promises not to put you in a terribly embarrasing spot trying to answer your question. That is great when it is what you want -but sometimes you just really want to get to know the other person without feeling too threatened and just have a good time.
My only real criticism of this game is the foo-foo packaging. It's about as sexy as a cup of coffee in the break room at Good Housekeeping. (BORING.) Also, the actual game board is small and flimsy looking, the artwork strictly late-fifties housewife mode. Hey, but if there was anything to have wrong with the game I'd rather those things. Oh, one other thing is I think it would not have been that hard to make this into a game playable by up to 4 people but the game only offers to player pieces and one die and the very small game board, which seems a bit of a shame, especially since it is not exactly an inexpensive game.
All in all, though I give it TWO THUMBS UP!I'll be using it both to get to know a new suitor better -and to get to know a niece I never met before.
P.S. One thing I forgot to mention which to me is a real plus: hundreds of these question cards are adorned with quotes. Love them quotations! Someone (or some people) put a LOT of time and thought into putting this game together, and they did a swell job.(smile)
