I bought these for my two girls (8 and 11).They always start friendship bracelets but quickly loose interest.My 8 YO always had trouble keeping track of the strings.This product is great!!They can finish a project quickly and it keeps track of your strings for you.Once you get used to the tension you need to put on the strings to get the effect you want it is very easy to produce quality bracelets.They needed help "loading" the wheel, but after a few rows/rounds even my 8 YO was doing it like a pro.You make the bracelet by moving strings from one slit to another.They are color coded to help you out, but like I said, once you get started, it is very simple.My one word of advice for the round one is figure a way to mark the next string you need to move BEFORE you put it aside.We wrapped it around a couple slits.On the square one we just made sure to always finish a row.If you don't mark it, it is very hard to figure out where to start back up.I highly recommend this product!!

Sevi Village Train Set
After two of my friends told me they considered buying this train set for their children, I feel responsible to finally write a review.I bought this toy when my son was about 15 months and returned it the next day because it is not suitable for a first train set. 3+ actually makes sense here.
The biggest problem with it is the play mat. Unlike Plan Toys, this play mat is made out of printed cardboard. So if your toddler drools (most are still teething) or spills some water or juice while playing, the mat will be ruined. It is not laminated and you cannot wipe anything off. So unless you want to go through the trouble of laminating it, it is not appropriate for the younger ones. Additionally, the scenery is not as shown in the picture. The colors are not bright at all. I have a hunch that Sevi used to include a mat of better quality and this is an old picture, but who knows...
All the vehicles are extremely cute, but you can buy them separately. My warning there is that they are probably smaller than you imagine.
A similar train set is made by Nuchi, which is cheaper, if you mainly care about the train and tracks.
If you get this for a special sale price, go for it!
I got this product for my 2 1/2 year old for Christmas and it is really every bit as great as it looked on the box. I love the bright colors and my daughter loves that all the little cars and things can run on the track, too. I bought this train because I don't have room for a train table and I wanted something that I could put away in the closet when we aren't playing with it. This is the perfect train if that's what you're looking for. I also wanted something of high quality that would last a long time and that I could be reasonably sure of not containing high lead levels because we are about to have another baby. I am very happy with this product and think it gives my kids room to grow and learn and imagine and play. I love it!

My 3 year old little girl adores this Sevi train set! We saw in a local toy store set up as a demo and she played with it non-stop. Plan Toys doesn't have a play set as charming as this one, with ocean docks, airport, helicopter, central town and train track crossing. Set does combine well with Thomas trains, Plan Toys trains and vehicles. Only gripe is paint on trains and vehicles can chip off during rough play. Wish they included a touch-up kit. Yes, play mat is heavy duty printed cardboard but I spent a few dollars laminating it (very, very easy to do) using an exacto knife and 18" wide Duck Peel'n Stick transparent shelf paper purchased on Amazon and it looks like a million bucks. Printing on play mat is high quality and well worth preserving because it is so very charming. This is a great toy with several flaws. My son is 18m, and we got it for his first birthday. The vehicles are very cute. Plus we do have a lighthouse, a port, an airport, an island and a big hospital in a 10 mile radius. So it feels like a map of our city :) Train engine is my son's favorite, he carries it around everywhere we go. The paint wore off the engine a lot at this point, a piece of wood fell off as well, I had to glue it back on. I love how sevi puts it in the description "heirloom quality". That is not accurate. Nothing like Haba toys, I once accidentally washed a painted Haba block in a washing machine and it came out looking like new :) Besides, as a previous reviewer mentioned, the cardboard is not laminated which means it won't hold on well. I laminated it myself with Avery Self Adhesive sheets (which I highly recommend btw for a job like that,Obviously not an heirloom quality toy. But here is my biggest problem with the set. My son had trouble playing with it on the floor, he used to take tracks apart all the time and he just doesn't have the motor skills yet to lean down and move the train on the tracks. So I had to buy him a table to make it more ergonomic. I was hoping to get a table close in size to the picture board, which turned out to be next to impossible. Tables come either in much bigger sizes or much smaller sizes. Unless you want to go to a local woodworker and have something custom made (will probably cost $$$). Now we have a standard huge train table which took most of the free space in the nursery, it means if we have more kids in near future, the table will have to go elsewhere in the house turning our living space into a playroom. Please post if you do know of a reasonably priced train table with a top in size 37"x27".

I love this concept and most of the parts of this are very well-made, but the wheel itself is made of a cheap-feeling molded plastic, perhaps to make it light-weight. The stand and front magnet plate are very sturdy, as are the plastic faces for the wedges.It was very easy to put together and includes a nice printable sticker for the center magnet plate.
I recommend using the included template to trace the wedge shape onto cardstock and lengthening the pointier end. If you make the wedges the size of the template on printer paper, they flop around. A longer wedge (turn it sideways on 8 1/2 x 11 sheet) on sturdier paper fixes that in no time.
One of the flippers is incredibly loud, great for a big space. I like it, but perhaps it wouldn't work inside with a few people.
I use this at a large attraction (education department at a zoo) and I just love it. We use it for games and educational lessons as an interactive. Everyone loves spinning the prize wheel.

Levels of Discovery Fire Engine Rocker
I bought this rocking chair for my grandson who is 3 years old. What a big hit it was. It is beautifully made, very sturdy, easy to put together and the colors are strong and true. It is large enough for this little boy to use for quite sometime. The entire family enjoys just looking at it because it is so darn cute. I ordered this chair for my Grandson. I wanted something that could be passed down from generation to generation. Most people come to this game after they have already been introduced to the European Designer Games by Settlers of Catan. This is a different kind of game than Settlers but in some senses it shares a lot of commonalities.The game is easy to learn for a wide audience, it is reasonably quick to play (30 40 minutes) and is a very "immersive" game i.e. there aren't long periods of boredom. There are elements of strategy and luck, which makes for a "fun" game experience.
This game is fun for children and adults. For children the "farmers" are a little too complex, but the game works very well without that element.
The game consists of laying tiles to build cities, roads and monasteries in the South of France. Points are gained by creating long roads, building large cities or farming multiple farms. It draws elements of building jigsaw puzzles together with a strategy game of competing for territory.
I have played this game with family members who aren't really into board games and they enjoyed it just as much as gamers.
There are many expansions to this game which add a few more dimensions as you get more advanced. There is a very high replay-ability.
I would high recommend this game to people who are bored with standard Monopoly or Cranium type board games that are popular in the US.
If you loved Settler's of Catan this a "must"!

Okay, so the game has been around for awhile, I was just looking in the wrong places.I don't remember how I was led to this game, I was looking at a game site on the Web and they said how this game is consistently rated #1.So I clicked on it, and in a carefree mood I purchased it. I LOVE IT.Even my husband who usually rolls his eyes whena game is pulled out , has said he enjoys this game.We often play it with a 9 and 11 year old, and they are easily able to grasp the concepts, although their strategies could use some work.
What is so nice about this game is that there are no dice, no money to count and no constantly moving a piece around a board.Instead each player on his turn picks a cardboard tile(nice thick quality) and places it on the table, which acts as your board.You basically create your own puzzle each game, so it is never the same.Rivers match up to rivers, or city to city, road to road.You have to decide the best place to put the piece you just picked.
Sometimes the games are lopsided, with one person building a huge city and getting tons of points, but that is often due to the other players error and not a game fault.We have only been playing it 2 weeks, but so far I have learned/figured out something new after each game to help with future strategies.It's a quick game, and high quality.I have been so impressed with this one, that I have already purchased some expansions andRio Grandes new game of Ark of the Covenant and Hunters and Gatherers, both using the same concept of Carcassonne but with variations.
This game definitely beats out the common store favorites of Clue, Monopoly, Life, Stratego and blah blah blah.There is a reason why it has been a #1 game, try it out!
This is a tile-placement game.Square tiles have roads, monasteries, cities and farmland printed on them.Each player in turn reveals a tile and places it such that all edges match edges already placed.For instance, a road has to connect to a road, it can not just stop.Once a player places a tile, they can claim part of the tile (road, farmland, city, or monastery).As these features grow the player gets more points.Monasteries do not grow, points are gained by filling in the nine surrounding spaces.
The skill comes from knowing just what to claim.Each player has a limited number of claim tokens.Once a feature is completed (road, city or monastery), the points are collected and the claim token becomes available for use again.Players must balance their use of the tokens and work to complete features so they can claim even more.One trick is to complete a short road or small city (just two tiles, sometimes three) and then claim it, thus getting the points and getting the claim token back immediately.
This is a quick game.Playing time is relatively short (thirty minutes or so) and play is easy.No two games are ever the same thus keeping the game fresh.A fun game for two to six players.The game is reasonably small and easy to transport.Pieces are cardboard tiles and wooden claim tokens.If you are looking for a fun game that doesn't take hours, then this one might be for you.

I bought this for the family to play and I (Dad) love to play it on a lazy/quiet day.It is not much fun for parties.My wife thinks it is tedious but she does not care for strategy games in general (she prefers Uno).My nine year old daughter plays it with me and she enjoys it.My daughter (as other parents have mentioned about their children) does not do farmers for two reasons:farmers are just complicated enough that she avoids the concept plus she is very sensitive about not running out of followers and very much understands that farmers once placed are not recoverable until the game ends.For this reason I tend to outscore her handily (fortunately for me she understands that the farmer issue is why I always win but she loves to play strategy games with Daddy and she is closing the scoring gap over time).This game is not a "hoot" nor is it quickly paced.It is more of a moderate intensity strategy game.It is not however an overly complicated game that is hard or boringly slow to play.It is both easy enough that truly anyone could play (and enjoy) it yet engaging enough that serious thinkers can have fun with it.
This game does take up an entire dinette table to play and is not suitable for playing in the car for example.We put it in our RV and play it whenever we are camping.It is perfect for that.When I first read the description of Carcassonne, I dismissed it as something that I wouldn't really enjoy (I've never really liked how luck is the dominant element of tile-laying games).But there were so many fantastic reviews that mentioned how `strategic' it was, we decided to dig into our game fund and buy it!It was an instant hit with family and friends including my wife and daughter, who are not avid game players.
I won't waste time explaining the rules or details of gameplay, but I will say that learning the game is very easy.The game plays in about a half hour (a bit more with expansions), which is great because people can come and go as they please no long term commitments here.Even adding `The River' (included in the basic game edition that we bought) and the `Inns and Cathedrals' expansion rules isn't a burden.The only area that can be a bit confusing is scoring for farmlands.We did it incorrectly the first night, but as I was re-reading the rules to clarify it, it became clear on how they should be scored.
The mechanics of gameplay can be tinkered with to produce variations that you may like.For instance, we don't use the standard rules for placing the river tiles at the beginning of the game.We shuffle all 12 tiles, picking and laying tiles to build the river only until the two ends (the spring and the lake) have been placed.This way, the length of the river (2 to 12 tiles) varies from one game to the next.
The tile laying aspect of this game is, of course, mostly luck.There's no strategy that can give you the tile you need you'll either be lucky or not.On one game, my son and I were both waiting to finish cities near the end of the game, needing identical pieces.He drew the tile and scored, I ended up with a zero for that city and lost the game.Had I drawn the tile, I'd have won.Of course, the more players you have, the less chance you have of getting that tile that you really need.
Placing tiles carefully is the key to strategizing.Should you build a bunch of small cities, or a lesser amount of large ones?Should you finish that road or try to build it as long as possible?Should you expand your own farms, roads, and cities, or `steal' points from another player?There is no one strategy that is fail-safe (at least none that I've found).
Strategy comes in not only in where the tiles are places, but also in the placement of your followers (`meeples') to score points for roads (as thieves), farms (farmers), cloisters (monks) and cities (knights).Since you have only a small amount of meeples, so managing them wisely is of the utmost importance..
When it's all put together, these elements combine to make a fun and unpredictable game that is different every time you play it.
We purchased the "Inns and Cathedrals" expansion, in which Inns can double the value of roads and Cathedrals score you additional points in cities.But if those cities and roads remain unfinished at the end of the game, the whole city (or road) is worthless!This set also comes with a large follower (worth 2 regular followers) for each color, a complete set of followers for a sixth color (gray), and `50/100' tiles to make keeping score easier.
There are several other expansions for Carcassone, each adding a twist here or there, as well as increasing the number of tiles.We hope to add some of those to our collection over time, but we don't really find the game lacking anything the way it is, either.While these expansions aren't necessary to enjoy the game, the additional tiles, rules, and strategies really modify the game up nicely.There is also a `big box' available which includes the base game plus five expansions.
I recommend this game highly.While I can't say that it will replace game nights of taking out a large board game for a 2-3 hour showdown, this game stands on its' own merits, being a fine game for 2 to 5 players (six with the I & C expansion).But more importantly, it's the kind of game that can entice non-gamers into the fold, and every person that I have introduced the game to (both gamers and non-gamers alike) loves it.Carcassonne is proof that a game doesn't have to be massive or have highly technical rules to be challenging and fun.

Graco Portland Combo Dresser
The product is ok. It was fairly easy to assemble. The finish seems to mark easily. The item we received was slightly damaged. A piece of trim, normally stapled on, had come off. We were able to nail and glue the part back into place without there being an obvious repair. Since the damage was minor and we did not discover it until the product was nearly assembled we did not bother to return it.I purchased this product because I had bought the matching crib. The finish is nearly identical to that of the crib and the set looks good in the nursery.
UPDATEa few months after we starting using the dresser the handles started to pull off and have to be glued on. The drawers will not slide well if pulled slightly crooked. Also beware of dragging the dresser along light colored carpet as it will mark the carpet. Its still a functional dresser but I wouldn't buy it again unless there was a very good sale. Otherwise spend the money on something of higher quality.

Bought this dresser even though some people rated it low.It did take sometime to put together as the instructions are not written very well in English.You can tell there are some things that just get lost in translation.Very sturdy and feel safe when my child is born changing him on this dresser.I thought the inside of the drawers were going to be an issue, but there is enough reenforcement and support that I am not concerned at all.The side door did not want to connect to the magnet at first and thought I would have to replace the piece.The dresser settled and the magnet and metal clip now connect.I guess it just needed to sit for a day or two to settle into place.I did change out the hardware for the handles, as I did not like the look of the wood color.Bought a set of pewter finished knobs at my local Target for under $20.Best thing about this was I got free shipping to my house.I was originally going to buy this dresser through WalMart but they were out of stock.Bough this dresser in espresso to go with the Lauren espresso bed frame and it a matches perfect!!!I would recommend this dresser for someone on a budget who realizes that the dresser will have to be replaced several years down the road.No dents,dings,or scratches when it was delivered.Read Best Reviews of Graco Portland Combo Dresser Here
Purchased to go with the Graco crib. The speed of the Shipping was great as it arrived within three days of ordering.Style of the dresser is really cute and goes well with the Lauren crib we purchased. Quality and assembly was horrible!!!Assembly of the product was a nighmare. Way to complex and the parts did not fit together correctly. The drawer fronts were all warped, drawer bottoms didnt fit correctly into the drawer back, and the shelf was to big to fit correctly. Very disappointed with this dresser, no quality, I'm surprised they would sell this to expecting parents, the wood for the drawers that you put together were so warped they wouldn't match up, also the locking screws broke through the wood when turned because of poor drilling, I can't believe this made it through an inspection, I had to rig it to work because of our expecting date, be careful

So far, I think all is well.Have to say, it came in waaaaay to many pieces...and some were missing.I was able to run to the local hardware shop for replacements...but they were silver vs black...ugly, but workable until Carrom sends us some parts.Table solid, but construction could have been more...well...aligned.After the first 30 min of play, we found 2 'dead' spots.We are not entirely judging yet until we are 100% all is balanced well.Looks great...and are SO glad we went for black/green vs. the typical brown.Hopefully after a few more play-times, I will come back and update.I have 4 sons...9/8/6/1...and I am hoping for many years of fun!!

I am very pleased to have bought this. I bought it as a Christmas gift for my kids (aged 11 and 6) and they love it. It is huge, so bear in mind how much space you need to house it it isn't only the size of the table itself, but also the space around the table, needed for those playing. I was concerned, from reading other reviews, about how difficult it would be to assemble, but it was actually fine. I bought my Carrom foosball table as a birthday gift for my husband. Luckily, he did not mind taking the hour or so we required to assemble it.Instructions were reasonably straight forward, but if you're new to the game, I strongly advise that you decide before you start assembling if you want left hand defence and right hand attack or vice versa.(We followed the manual and ended up with the right hand controlling the defenders. We changed it around. Did anyone else find this or did we take a wrong turn somewhere?)Once assembled, the table looks good, sturdy and is an instant hit with children and adults alike. Overall, I'm really happy with this purchase.Here's the nitty gritty of it...I thought the table was pretty easy to assemble.It took me less than an hour doing it on my own.One reviewer mentions 4 adults taking 3 hours to put it together on Christmas eve.All I can say is that there had to be a significant amount of eggnog involved that night.
The table is sturdy enough for my 2 year old and lots of fun.The storage drawers are very convenient.
The manufacturer lists this product for kids 3 and up.That's just because there are some small parts like railroad crossing signs and stop lights.You can just bag those up and save them for when your kids are older.The crane is fairly delicate so you'll probably want to set it aside too.The trains, tracks, and table are perfectly suitable for younger kids.
I think the product would be better if the tracks were numbered for quicker assembly.I took a fine point sharpie and discretely numbered the tracks to make it easier to reassemble them when I clear the table to clean it now and then.
The table comes with a hospital, fire station, and police station.All three are a painted wood square that snap into a plastic base so they can stand up.The hospital roof is also a plastic piece that snaps on.The product would be better if the fire station and police station were built the same way.Their roofs are made of wood that just rests on top of the painted wood square.They fell off so often that I attached them with wood glue.It was an easy fix and left my son much less frustrated.
Even more frustrating than the fire station and police station roofs is the gas station assembly.It's made of several small wood pieces that are held together by wood pegs.It fell apart any time my son touched it.Actually, it fell apart any time my husband and I tried to move it so there's no way a toddler or preschooler could move it without collapsing the whole thing.The product would be better if the gas station came with screws to hold it together much like the airport included with the table does.That said, a little wood glue easily solved the problem.
Some reviewers mention that their kids destroyed the track assembly within minutes.I haven't had a problem with that.My son pulled one piece off once and was so upset that he cried out "broke! broke! momma fix!" and hasn't pulled any of the track parts off since.
Some reviewers mention that the trains don't fit through the tunnel.I thought this was true when I first put everything together.It turns out that you just need to wiggle the track a little so it sits right in the center of the tunnel. The trains won't fit if the track is pushed over to the left or right side.
The train arrived with one piece of broken track and the wrong backboard.The backboard didn't make any sense with the train track layout.There was no possible way to set it up so the road crossed the track at the railroad crossing piece.I called Kidkraft and they immediately shipped me the correct pieces at no cost.Some people might view it as a negative that it arrived wrong but I can understand how these things happen.It's much more important to me that they fixed it quickly and without hassle.We'll own this table for years and I'm happy knowing we will get good service and customer support during that time.
Some reviewers wrote that they wished they'd bought a Thomas table instead.I specifically did not buy a Thomas train table because I don't want my kid to start obsessing over branded toys already.I can't stand the way the Thomas tables say "THOMAS" over every blood square inch of surface space.I write this so you'll know how much it pains me to admit that the Thomas tracks are better quality.That said, the Kidkraft tracks work just fine.If you have an older child that might notice the difference in quality, you might want to consider buying a Kidkraft table and Thomas tracks.Another plus to getting the Kidkraft table instead of the Thomas one is that you can flip the board over and use the table for something else when your kid outgrows playing with a train table.There's no escaping that Thomas tables are just meant for trains.
It also pains me to admit that the Thomas trains are better quality than the Kidkraft trains.Once again, the Kidkraft trains work just fine but the wheels don't run quite as smooth as the Thomas ones do.In favor of the KidKraft trains is that you can load and unload cargo off them.My son received a few Thomas trains from relatives this Christmas and he doesn't seem to notice the difference.He uses them all interchangeably.He really likes pairing the larger Thomas trains (which he calls Poppa trains) with the smaller KidKraft trains (baby trains) and taking them on adventures around the track.Having both gives us a chance to talk about size and to pair by color.We also received some surprisingly high quality trains from Target under the Circo brand name.A combination of all three will really give your kid a great selection on this table.
received the train table in good time. good in size, and the accessories are awesome. i love that the top is the train setting, and the other flip side is plain wood, so later it can be used for games or whatever. exceeds expectations...

I would just love to give this table a 5 star review but I can't.I have had to contact the Kidkraft twice because of a couple of issues.First off the train that came with the table didn't go together.The put the same magnet in every single end of the train so they all opposed each other.The second issue is that the mountain that is supposed to make noise was missing all of its electrical components.It had the spot for the battery but no electrical wiring.They are helpful in fixing these problems but none the less it is still frustrating when this was my 3 year old sons birthday gift.But all in all the train set is great, and it deserves the 5 star. ()I really wanted to like this train table. We have had Step2 Deluxe Canyon Road Train & Track Table for years. We thought a nicer wooden table would be a great upgrade for the kids. And they all love Thomas. (I don't know that I've even met a kid who didn't like Thomas.) But this table just failed to live up to my expectations.First, it was really easy to put the table together. Only a phillips head screwdriver was needed. Even with little hands "helping", the table was together in 10 minutes.
I like the train storage on the underside of the side of the table. That is a very clever use of space. It also encouraged my kids to put their trains away.
That is where my positives end.
This table, while expensive, comes with no trains or tracks. You must purchase those things separately. I very much wish it came with a basic track and a train or two.
The top of this table just sets into the base. It is in two pieces and they are not bolted down or held down in any way. This is very problematic for my household. Also, the top of the table isn't very sturdy. It will hold essentially no weight, so hopefully your little conductor will not get too enthusiastic and climb on top of the table. It just won't take much wear and tear for such an expensive item. I'd expect much better quality and construction.
So now, I have to constantly monitor train table usage to make sure no one is being too rough with the table and no one is climbing under the table and bumping the table top. It is just a hassle. Perhaps the makers of Thomas the Train do not expect 3 rough little boys to be playing with their table. Not sure what these guys had in mind with this design.
Honestly, I like the cheap Step 2 table more. My boys can be more free with it and have less controlled play.
()My daughter is a huge Thomas and Friends fan. I built her an 80" x 32" train table with fixed track for Christmas, but after a recent birthday, she's already run out of room. I got this as a secondary table for her extra sets and as an area for her to make up her own layouts.
The table is very well constructed... the structure includes enough supports under the playboard that I doubt there will be any sagging, even though the board itself is only 1/4" MDF. Assembled, it's quite sturdy and includes some pretty thick metal brackets to hold everything together. It's much larger then I was expecting, with the play area measuring 48" x 32". There's also a 32" stretch of track between two legs on one end that can be incorporated into a set built on the floor, or it can be used to store trains... it even has a ledge behind the track to keep the trains from being knocked off. This 'ledge' is not show in the photos above, so it must have been a late addition (and a smart one).
A few complaints though... first, the playboard is two panels that are 48" x 16" each. This leaves a bit of a bump along the centerline, down the middle where the panels meet. I didn't have any expectations of disassembling the table, so I glued the panels down to the support underneath. It probably would have settled flat over time, but I still think it's a bad design, since it initially causes a problem with laying track across the seam.
Second, a minor complaint, is that there is so much room under the table that's wasted. For the price, they should definitely included a couple of draws.
Third, the playboard itself includes a lot of useless object drawn in. The landscape is nice and includes plenty of different terrain, but I think it's ridiculous to include trees and buildings that are flat. The actual 'trees' they offer for the Thomas sets are simple painted wood cut-outs. Skip the buildings, and include a half dozen actual tree pieces... that would have given this table a 3D element to it, and would have distinguished it from all the other train tables out there. I have a couple of friends with Thomas-style train tables and there's two similar tables at a nearby child play center... I have never seen any child pay any attention to these flat drawn buildings.
Aside from my opinions of it, my daughter does enjoy it quite a bit. Overall, this is an excellent train table, with a hefty price. I do think they could have done more with it for what it costs, especially from a line of toys that has been so creative in the past.

()I have 3 children who are all interested in trains. We often deal with arguments because one train table was not quite enough for 3 of them to share well and still have room to move around the tracks and play freely.So when we were offered a second table, I jumped at the chance. I'm so glad that we did.
We had owned the Kidcraft table for more than a year before getting this one. The Kidcraft has held up ok, but I'm very unimpressed with the construction quality.
To compare:
The Kidcraft table cost around $120. This one was $220.
The Kidcraft table is about 6" shorter which is fine for toddlers, but awkward for 4 and up. This is tall enough that my 5 year old can stand at the table and play, which she really likes.
The Kidcraft topper is basically thick cardboard that sits on the inner rims of the table. It's popped out on us more than once, leaving tracks all over the floor. This one is also thick cardboard, but a little better quality and has 3 cross supports to keep it from popping or falling through.
The Kidcraft is a neutral wood and also included a set of tracks and play trains. This one had no accessories.
On the pros/cons list, I have to say that the Kidcraft table is a better value for a starter set. You get more for $100 less, but it won't necessarily last as long.
The wooden tracks with the Kidcraft set are the same tracks that come with the Thomas wooden railway sets. They can be used interchangeably.
For kids older than 2 or 3, this set is really better designed. The kids have a tendency to lean on the table while they are playing, and the Kidcraft just couldn't handle the weight.
My only 2 disappointments with this table is that the layout on the surface is not made to look anything like Sodor Island. It's just a general aerial view of land and water. Since it's a Thomas-themed table, I fully expected it to have more in common with the brand product that the color of blue painted on the legs.My other disappointment is that for the additional $100+ they really could have included $10 worth of tracks or accessories. That's one aspect where I feel like they are charging too much for the same of a name brand.
Overall, though, my kids are absolutely thrilled with the table AND the blue coloring. The other one has been long since forgotten except by my 3 year old.

()My son has lots of Thomas trains and track so it only made sense that we would want a table to put everything on. When we got the package, it was HUGE and my son was dancing with anticipation.
Installation was quick; it took my husband and I less than 30 minutes to assemble. I noted that there were instances where I would have to hold two pieces together while my husband used the screwdriver to attach them. A single person could assemble it (for those who are single parents) but you would need props and creative use of the floor. My husband noticed that the pieces that came pre-assembled had to be tightened up as well. There were some spots where following your intuition was better than following the directions but otherwise, there were no issues. In the end, the table was sturdy and felt well made.
My son fell to playing with it immediately. He loved the rack on the side where you can store your engines, but the best part was you could attach tracks and risers to it and extend the existing track configuration he's made on the floor. And it's after several days of playing with it that I noticed something: the train table is being used more for keeping junk off the floor.
The problem is the tracks we make often need more room than the table allows. My son's gotten accustomed to making track configurations of various dimensions and being limited by the table is frustrating. The designs on the table and board are very attractive and he's tickled that it's exactly like the ones we see in the toy stores, but actual play with the table is minimal since we don't glue down the track pieces. I think those who glue down their pieces would find more benefit to this, but then you lose the endless possibilities of different track configurations.
In all, I'm glad we got it because he seems to like it but it's not often used as it's intended.

I was shopping for a train table for a long time. At last my choices were this one by Fisher Price and the one by Learning curve with a drawer in the middle, that is sold on Baby R us for 199. But after thinking for a while I still went with this one, even I like the idea of having a drawer, it seams like it is a very flimsy one, that can be pulled out all the way and can hurt your child, also it's still not big enough for all the train and tracks we have. I saw bough of them in local Barns and Nobles, my kid loved to play with this one maybe because of perfect size. Received it very fast, box was in perfect condition, instructions are pretty clear and took me only 20 minutes to put together. So far very happy with it, looks and feels very sturdy. My kid is also very careful baby, he does not walk around with wet cups that he will put on top of the table, so had not problems with paining going of. Really suggest to give it a try! My son just received this toy for his first birthday.He loves it, as does his two brothers, 3 and 6 years of age.They sit and play with it for hours.At first I had trouble getting the legs to stay on, but then I reread the instructions and it said put on a hard surface, carpet does not work, the kitchen floor is best.You have to push very hard until you hear a big click, if you don't hear the click they are not on.We also bought some of the little animals that go with it and they just think they are the cutest thing.The best part is the basket, it's the only toys my kids like to clean up.And in my book that makes it Great.

I just purchased this for my son yesterday and he loves the 2 spinning dials on the pop on table. You push a button and the 2 round building areas spin but not for long just through each song and then u have to press the button again to restart the spinning. The building blocks aren't really that fun they are kinda big and alot of the pieces don't pop together that good. My son gets really frustrated because he will think that he has some popped together and then they fall off. I really have to push some of the pieces hard together to get them to pop on. He loves the character pieces though and just sits them on the spinning dials. Overall good toy for toddlers but a little overpriced for this type of toy.

Gund Winkie Waggie Key-Wind Musical Lamb
The first Winkie we received as a gift for our then-newborn daughter.After a few months, the key-winding device began to jam, making it appear as though Winkie was having seizures.We set the toy aside for a few months before our daughter located him and began unscrewing the key/winder.We remedied the situation (of both the jamming and loose key) by performing "surgery" to remove the musical device and key.Once Winkie "recovered" from his surgery, our daughter was disappointed that he no longer played music, but it was still her favorite toy.(She will not, under any circumstances, sleep without Winkie).Given our daughter's affinity for the toy (and the fact that his formerly white down had turned a grayish color from all of the love), we purchased another as a back-up.Thank goodness for Amazon, because it was the only place I could find it for a reasonable price.Our daughter, 16 months at the time of receiving the second Winkie, was thrilled to find Winkie playing music.Unfortunately, the music didn't last long, as the musical mechanism broke within a week-and-a-half (same problem arose as with Winkie 1).Winkie 2 is currently in triage for another "surgery".Our daughter will be somewhat disappointed at the lack of music, but she absolutely loves this toy!!
While the musical apparatus is faulty, the toy is well sewn and he is a good size for infants/toddlers.Further, he's light-weight.Given that he's white, it takes a bit of elbow grease to get him clean (but prying him away from my daughter to clean him is another matter, hence his currently gray hue...).
My "Young Adult" daughter was thrilled to receive this as a replacement for one similar that she had as a tot.
She sleeps with it & was excited that its head gently moved in tune with the music just like her well-loved, though now tattered original 'lamby'.

I know I shouldn't write this while angry, but I am extremely disappointed with this toy and want to warn other parents not to buy it! I had a musical teddy bear as child and loved it, so I wanted to get something special for my 5-month-old daughter for Easter and this seemed to be the perfect gift-esp since I love the "Hush little baby" lullaby. Well, we've only had it one day and it's already broken. I've been VERY careful with it and even kept it high up on her dresser, but now it won't play the music for more than 2-3 seconds at a time. I have no idea what happened, and since we have nothing to loose, I'm going to attempt the "surgery" one reviewer mentioned and see if I can fix the music box or replace it with another. My musical teddy bear is over 30 years old and it still plays music (although you can't play with it anymore as the fur has worn away to just threads in some areas.) I am disappointed that Gund would put out such a poorly made toy. We have several stuffed animals made by Gund and they are all high quality (my 3-yr-old won't go to bed without her soft Gund teddy bear), so I thought this musical lamb would be equally great.
