Lord of the Rings Boxed Gift Set - There and Back Again - Set of 5 Figures

After reading these reviews I had mixed thoughts. I am 13 and I display my figures, but also play with them and put them in action setups.But for christmas I got a 30 dollar gift card and decided to spend it on this gift set after much thinking.I opened it to find 5 very nice,detailed,great likeness, and very fun figures!I already had a Frodo with lightup sting,but I did not have any of the other hobbits,which I really needed. Frodo is one of the best versions of Frodo I have seen. Great likeness, very good outfit, and very poseable. Sam is pretty much the same. Again a great outfit, amazing likeness, and poseable. Merry and Pippen are my favorite out of this set. They have very nice likeness and are the most fun to play with, I dont know why, but I just prefer them. Now onto Bilbo. Bilbo was one of my least favorite characters in the trilogy. I really loved him in the hobbit, but didn't care for him in these movies. But this is a very good figure. Like others have said, it's not the same bilbo in ROTK, He looks much younger and happier here. Poseable and good likeness. The journal is pretty useless, but good for display. The outer of it has a nice slick feel, with BB and an evenstar on the front. Inside it has the words from the movie and some maps. Very detailed. Overall very nice figures. I was hesitant,but love it now!Thanks for reading my review!

I am pretty happy with the gift pack.I have a huge collection, so it was fitting for me to add this gift set.I feel this would be for the serious collector or for younger children.The hobbits are dressed in very nice outfits that you would expect them to wear if they were in the Shire.The Bilbo figure is the version that we see in Rivendell, where he has white hair and looks older.None of the hobbits carry extras such as swords.The Helm's Deep set brought out the ferocity of that battle.This set envokes peaceful times that occur in the Shire.I would certainly recommend this gift set.

I purchased this set as a gift for my grandmother. She has been a fan since the mid-60s, and she has a shirt, with the phrase "Frodo Lives", that has been around before the term "Trekkie" ever applied to the fans of Star Trek. My grandmother is a diehard Tolkien fan and loves "The Lord Of The Rings" films by Peter Jackson. I have been looking at this set ever since it was released, a year ago. I finally purchased it and am waiting to give it to my Grandmamma for Christmas. This is an excellent set with an amazing likeness to all of the characters. Although I have not opened this set, I can make out the cover of the "There And Back Again & The Lord Of The Rings" booklet and have seen many pictures. This is my favorite featured piece of the set, for not only does it hold very much sentimental value for me, but it will also be very important to my Grandmamma. The figures are rather fantastic, save for Bilbo (played by verteran actor Ian Holm), which is a much younger version than the 128-year-old Bilbo that appears in the film. That being my only critisism, this is an excellent gift set and would make a terrific addition to any fan's collection. Keep up the good work, Toy Biz.

It depends on what kind of toy-buyer you are to determine whether or not you would enjoy this set. If you are buying it for younger children, to play with, then this might not quite be the set you are looking for, especially since the five hobbits do not come with swords. (A MUST for combat play!)

Bilbo is the key factor in this set. He is in his fine, distinguished hobbit clothes, and his aged hair and face, such as he had in Rivendell. It's exclusive, and the big plus in buying this set.

Frodo has a post-RotK hand. Those of you who have seen the movie, or read the books, you know what I mean, but for the rest, I cannot say more lest I spoil it for you. His clothes are fine Shire quality.

Sam is pretty much the same, as are Merry and Pippin. All are dressed as you would find them out for an evening in the Shire.

The set also comes with a diary, a There and Back Again vintage diary. It's not bad...kind of small.

If you like gift sets, or collector's sets, you'll probably like this. But like I said, if play is what you have in mind, you'll probably want to mix-and-match some single hobbit sets.

Harry Potter Mystery At Hogwarts Game

This game is pretty much a Harry Potter version of clue. You try to figure out which student cast which spell in which room. It is not hard to learn or play, but is it very fun. I played it at my birthday party and people were begging me to let them play again!The game pieces are little wizard hats with stars on them. Peeves is there and if he catches you have to go back to start. There are cool pictures on each of the game cards. You can find secret passages in the game so you can get to places faster.

As stated in the other reviews, this game combines Harry Potter with Clue, but also adds other aspects of strategy that Clue does not have.There is a ghost game piece that players can move to block or bump other players on the board, and the addition of game cards makes this more complex than Clue.

The artwork on the gameboard is exceptionally detailed, and the gamepieces are of higher quality than typical board games.This game is definitely a deal at the price it is being sold for.

My only suggestion to people considering this game is that, like Clue, it is best played with 3 or more people.I initially tried to play this with two people and it seemed to end too quickly.

Otherwise, this is a fun and exciting trip to Hogwarts!

This game is extremely fun. At my mother's friend's house the other day, we discovered this amazing game. We played it throughout the evening, and had a blast. Similar to the well-known game of "Clue", it is fairly easy to learn how to play. It isn't really an educational game, but does strengthen logicskills. In this game you must discover who cast what spell in which classroom. A ghost wanders throughout the school, and beware! he can bump you back to the starting square. MGA Mini Lalaloopsy Silly Pet Parade Train

I got this train for my daughter.It's super cute and unfortunately expensive.To have a full train it's well over $50.Unfortunately I'm returning it because they don't stay together.The way they created the parts that hook up seems opposite of what it should be.

We bought this main engine and all the little caboose type silly pet attachments that go along with this mini lalaloopsy toy. It's so darned cute, but I would not recommend for kids less than 5 years old.

Pros's and Cons to it, here's my take:

The main train actually takes batteries (AAA's so make sure you have some around or buy them, we're a household of AA's so I had to make another trip!)it plays a really cute tune that you can't get out of your head, both my husband agree its one of the cutest noise singalong toys that we've probably had. My daughter played for a long time hooking up the little attachments and playing with the adorable pets that come with it, it takes some patience to hook up the little attachments, thats why I wouldn't suggest for less than 5 years old. it's really colorful but thats about as educational as it gets, not an educational toy at all. Once you have hooked up the extra silly pet attachments, (which are sold individually and tally up to a small fortune) the train actually powers the engine and all the cabooses follow it around the room, will only work on hardwood or vinyl floor, won't power very well on ceramic floor and forget it on carpet.

I actually had to return the first one as it didn't do anything, but second time's a charm...overall we like it, I would recommend it for 5 and up, probably a good toy to "build up" piece by piece due to cost.

the locomotive is fun and cute for my 3 year old. although, the cars just pop off the poorly designed latch, the song is cute and the locomotive does turn itself around when it hits the wall, so my cat loves it too. :) like all lalaloopsy stuff however, i feel their prices are high for the quality of manufacturing, the cars should have a way to securely lock on since they are obviously useless without the locomotive.

This train is great except for two things. First, the cars don't stay hitched to the train. The hitch hooks for the train cars face down and the cars constantly come unhitched, usually not even getting pulled by the locomotive at all before becoming so. Could have easily been fixed by making the hitch hooks point upward. Second problem, the train doesn't turn off by itself. When you push the button in the seat to make it start, it will just keep going. There is no set time limit. So if your kid turns it on and leaves the room, you get to buy new batteries. Seems like it should have a "sleep" mode. These poor design flaws really make it a lousy toy. The first makes it nearly unusable, especially with all the extra cars they encourage you to buy. The second floor will have you constantly replacing the batteries. That's if you kids like it enough without it pulling the cars.

Playmobil Family Camper by Playmobil

It's a house, it's a vehicle, it comes with a lot of cool accessories. And it's the biggest hit of the three Playmobil sets my daughter received this Christmas. She loves this little camper, and who wouldn't?

The camper itself is well-laid out, complete with a mini-kitchen with a sink, a diner-style booth inside the camper and a versatile outdoor folding table with four folding chairs, and a tiny bathroom containing a tiny toilet. This little RV has everything a dollhouse has on smaller scale and with a theme that doesn't embrace either gender, making it the perfect toy for both girls and boys. There are four mat-like beds that affix to different parts of the camper. The mom and dad's beds sit over the cabin area, while the children's beds are in the rear, and can be lifted away to access storage compartments for the dishes and various foodstuff that come with the set. There is more storage in the rear of the vehicle, which can be accessed through a door that lifts up, and is perfect for storing the outdoor furniture and the bikes (there is one adult and one child-size bike). More storage is included in a removable compartment on the top of the vehicle, making this a more travel-friendly set than many of the Playmobil sets we own. All of the pieces can be stashed away, leaving you with a vehicle you can pick up and take along with you.

When the removable roof is attached a pull-out awning provides shade for the family's outdoor activities, and there is a door for the people to go in and out of the living quarters. The doors to the cabin are stationary and do not open, so in order to place a person in the driver's seat or passenger seat the roof must be removed.

Assembly is a piece of cake, especially compared to the Unicorn Fairy Palace we also received this Christmas. Set up for the RV consists pretty much of snapping the wheels together, clicking them onto the vehicle, inserting the toilet seat and booth table, and a couple other little odds and ends, but the bottom line is it probably takes 15 minutes if even that. The finished camper rolls smoothly, despite not having an axle, and only requires a little push to glide across the floor. Its wheels are realistic looking and have rubber tires that grip the floor to give it more momentum.

It does have a lot of pieces, and if you're new to Playmobil this may seem like an unpleasant surprise. These pieces can quickly get out of hand once you've acquired multiple sets. If you have a preschooler who is easily overwhelmed by clean-up, and no method for the madness, it can seem an annoyance not worth the entertainment value of the toy. Our daughter has one (large) rug in her room designated as her 'small toys' play area, because when we allowed to take this stuff everywhere, we were finding spoons and forks in her bed, and the people's removed hair under her dresser, etc.

We've set up a system where each set's small pieces are contained in a labeled plastic food container the cheap ones you buy at the grocery store. These are stored on the top shelf of her closet, and brought out, one at a time, upon request. She has to exchange one cleaned-up set if she would like to play with another. This is especially helpful if you have younger kids and need to keep the small parts away from them. It's a system that has worked very well, and it gives my daughter incentive to do the clean-up herself when she wants to play with something else.

I'm in total agreement with the majority of other reviewers on this set. I think it's the greatest. From the accessories, to the versatility, to all the fun little hiding places (I just loved 'secret compartments' as a kid) it's just a great deal of fun.

I would, however, be wary of prices charged here, as I've seen people asking double and even ten times the MSRP on very common Playmobil sets that *have not been retired.* I would always recommend checking the Playmobil site for the MSRP to be sure that you're not being ripped off by an unscrupulous seller.

Also, for those concerned with country of origin, this set is not made in China.

My children (ages 3-10) all love playing with Playmobil, so we are always on the lookout for a good value buy. This camper is wonderful. There are many, many accessories, the roof can be removed to use the inside, there is an openable section on the top of the roof, and there is plenty to keep the kids busy. The inside of the camper is well stocked with beds, a kitchenette, and more. The level of realism and attention to detail is remarkable. It comes with a picnic table and chairs that can be played with separate with other arraingements. As with many Playmobil items, the play experience has a lot of flexablity, which really makes it a creative experience for the kids.

It's a car, it's a home...It's a great buy, with so many fun little pieces and built-in storage nooks.Our Playmobil people travel all over the house, finding new places to camp the kids make their own tents or caves.The included bicycles are favorites, they go even more places (often in a ziplock bag in my purse) with tiny magnifying glass and camera for the figures to explore even more.My kids, ages 4-8, will play with Playmobil for hours; this camper and the versatile Pet Clinic (5870) are their favorite sets. I wish we had started buying Playmobil earlier, instead of Little People or Loving Family.The more interchangeable sets you have the better, just keep a big Playmobil tub and let their imaginations go wild.These and the Legos will last forever.

I bought his toy from Toys R Us for 59.99, It was very disappointing.Although, my sixteen month old was intrigued by the maze, the xylophone attached to the side may have just as well have been a block of wood.They do not work or make any sound remotely having to do with a note.For the price, it is really not worth the money.I can't believe they are selling this for over 100.00 on this site.

The bead maze in this toy is hard for little ones because of the shapes of the animals they get stuck and it's hard for this age range to manipulate it. Being that it's wood, it dents super easy and my kids didn't care about any of the side activities except the xylophone but they lost the mallet and it eventually just started taking up space so we got rid of it.

There's so many things to keep her busy, it encourages standing and walking around the cube as she looks for various beads and items to move. I got this item as a gift for my niece for Christmas. 7 months down the road she is still using it! The chai is a bit too simple, and tends to get stepped on and bent up a bit but everything else in the kit is great. Both my 5 year old niece (almost 6) and 7 year old nephew have been caught sitting down in the stroller and it still holds up. The bed is also still well used.

Sesame Street Full Body Puppets

The Elmo puppet is soft and cuddly, and good quality. My son giggles when he sees it. Only issue is the 'puppet' mouth is hard to open and close. It's really stiff and my hand gets sore after a minute or two.

This Snuffy puppet is made from very soft material and is sewn together well. You put your hand in through the tummy area and opening/closing the mouth raises/lowers the snuffle (trunk). My daughter loves it and thinks it is so funny. I love the Gund puppets, they are well made and so cute and cuddly.

We bought this Elmo puppet to play with our 5 month old son.He really enjoys the puppet.When you first buy it, the mouth is slightly difficult to move, but after 30 min of play it moves easily.Also the puppet is very soft and has bendable arms.

My only complaint is that the body of the puppet is a little wide (probably to allow for large arms).

Gund Baby Comfy Cozy Tucker

Shame on me for not reading the dimensions, but I thought I was getting a "lovie" for an infant, maybe 12" square. This is more like an infant area rug! Product confusion aside, I do love this thing as a baby play mat. It is so very soft and cute. The back of the giraffe is soft and plush, while the underside is silky. Baby can play with the ears and "horns" during tummy time. Throw it in the wash if it gets dirty. I think I will get more use out of this than what I actually thought I was buying...

I agree with most people that Kem makes a slightly nicer playing card, but Copag is the first choice of most casinos that I visit and after dealing directly with customer service, I am a life-long Copag guy. I own 12 decks of these for my monthly home game. One deck had an ink bleed problem after about two years of moderate use. After mailing my samples to the FL office, I recieved a nice letter and FOUR replacement decks. That's how you keep a customer.

Good quality plastic cards.Similar to KEM cards -a little thinner and a slightly different feel.Font is perhaps a bit large for games that involve holding more than 5 cards in your hand at once, but not to the point of being unwieldy.
