KidKraft Bucket Top Mountain Train Set

My initial reaction when I opened the box was almost a little disappointment. The bucket is smaller than I thought it would be, butit is perfect. I didn't want a big trainset in the first place and I wanted more than a figure 8, this is a great compromise. One of the things that initially bothered me was the 2 small folds in the waterfall stickers on the bucket top, but after we bagan playing it was a minor issue. The final minor issue is that the bucket top is not easy to "clip"to the container.

The rail road crossings "gate part " is thin plastic, it might break easy. In the end my son loves it and I think I am going to get a few extra track pieces. I don't want to look at the directions every time I have to assemble it (my son is only 2) and may be a crane and a extra train. There is still a bit of space in the container if you want to add a few extra pieces.

I purchased this for our 3 year old who loves trains and wanted more track for his current wooden set.The tracks do mesh nicely with his current track, and there are a lot of cute features such as the cars, helicopter, and train.The big drawback is the magnets that hold the train cars together.They are fine on flat surfaces, but going up the hills they rarely stay together.I do like having a bucket to put all the pieces in!

This is a great toy for children 2 and up.I bought this as a Christmas present for my boys.It comes with 61 pieces, which includes 3 train cars, 1 air plane, 1 helicopter, 1 fire truck, 1 police car.Each of the vehicles can roll on the train track, not the flying vehicles.

Pros:Enough different but good train tracks to make different track designs.I love the sturdier build of the trees, people, signs etc as compared to other brands of wooden train tracks.I love all the extras (air plane, cars, people, trees, signs) that come with this set, it all helps your child(ren) have that much more fun, and use their imagination all that more.The whole track fits into a plastic bucket, with the mountain being the bucket top.I love that factor!

Cons: This doesn't work very well on carpet.If you buy this train set, get a table or piece of wood to put this on for your children.Other wise the tracks just fall apart, and gets very frustrating.The engine's magnet isn't very strong so it doesn't hold onto the other 2 cars very well especially pulling them up the mountain part of the track.The airplane and helicopter have fragile parts that can be broken easily, so be aware of how they are being played with.

Despite the cons, I'm very glad I bought this track.My kids love it, I love it, and it is very fun!

I was reluctant to get this at first because I figured it'd be just another toy that our kids play with for a few hours and then completely ignore after that. But I bought it because that's what we parents do.

I'm surprised and thrilled that my kids play with it frequently. I feel the $40 was well spent and not wasted like on other toys. It's a recommended buy.

My two and four year oldslove this train set. It has a lot of fun extras like the plane and the helicopter and the mountain top. However it is not very durable.The magnets are not very strong so the trains come apart when you drive them up the mountain.Also the helicopter tower broke after a few days as well as some of the other accessories.My kids have fun with it, but it is not very high quality as far as durability goes.
