BasketBall Sparkle Lamp Molded Light Glow A slam dunk! Soft Plastic Sport Desk Lamp

BasketBall Sparkle Lamp Molded Light Glow A slam dunk! Soft Plastic Sport Desk Lamp
  • Basket Ball Sparkle Lamp
  • A slam dunk!

I gave two of these to our grandson for the night tables in his new "big-boy bedroom." HE LOVES THEM! They're soft and pliable, making them durable and very hard to break...which is perfect for a little boy's room. They're actually larger than the photograph appears, and they give-off a good amount of light, too, but not too much. We would buy these again... VERY CUTE! :-)

Wood Solitaire with Blue Glass Marbles

Wood Solitaire with Blue Glass MarblesThis is the kind of game you would keep on your coffee table to intrigue guests, but I love it in the classroom! For early finishers, this is the perfect activity to be done alone. The player usesproblem solving skills to "solve" this puzzle. My students are hooked! Many of my students in the past few years have been able to complete this game...I have not, but I keep trying!

Wood Solitaire with Marbles

This is a very old and quite clever little game. There are no bright colors and whistles and bells just a simple wooden board and 33 shiny pale blue marbles. The object of the game is to remove the marbles by jumping them with the final goal of leaving one marble in the center of the board. The placement of the final marble in the center of the board denotes a "perfect" game. Looks are deceiving this is no child's game. I have played this puzzle about thirty times and have two perfect games to my credit. The interesting point is that I can't say with any certainty exactly how I arrived at my placement of a solitairy marble in the center of the board. Therein lies the hook of this game which I highly recommend.

Kids Only Disney's Minnie Mouse Bowtique Activity Table Set

Kids Only Disney's Minnie Mouse Bowtique Activity Table SetI just received this table and chair set, which I will give my granddaughter for Christmas. It is amazingly sturdy and I think she will love it.My only concern is that the vinyl top may not stand up to little kid activities such as drawing and other arts and crafts. The fact that it is padded makes me think it might be easily punctured.Time will tell. Also, why is it listed for three different prices on Amazon?I paid about $40.00, but I also saw it listed for $56.00 and $64.00.

I bought this for my 23 month old granddaughter at a local discount store for $30; and the every day price at Walmart is $29. This table set is perfect for my granddaughter. In fact this is the second table set I bought by this manufacturer; the other one is Dora the Explorer. I keep that one downstairs in my house and this one upstairs. Here is why I like it.

1. This is very colorful. The picture on Amazon does not do it justice. And my granddaughter absolutely loves Minnie and has a Minnie Mouse doll.

2. The table is very easy to open and close, and so are the chairs, which come with a "safety screw" so that it is impossible for them to close once opened. I installed it because my granddaughter is very curious, and her little fingers would get hurt if she accidentally closed the chair on them. However, if you want to be able to fold the chairs for storage, you can skip the safety screw. The chairs will work fine without it.

3. The chairs are very easy for my granddaughter to get in and out of. They are each about 20.5" high and the seat is about 10.5" x 11.25". The table is 2' x 2' and 19.5" high. It is more than adequate for her to play on.

4. Both the table and chairs are durable and well made. Although the directions say that a chair can support a maximum of 100lbs, I routinely sit on a chair and weigh 160lbs. Even though the chair is way too small for me, surprisingly it is not uncomfortable for me to sit on it for extended periods when I am playing with my granddaughter.

5. Both the chair pads and table top are plastic coated, so you can easily clean them.

Bottom line: There are a lot fancier (and more expensive) table sets, but this one works just fine, is the right price (depending where you buy it), and most important my granddaughter absolutely loves to play on it and see Minnie on the table top and chair backs.

Shop for price. The current price on Amazon is more than double what this should cost.

My daughter loves Mickey/Minnie so this set was perfect. The table is pretty sturdy and good quality as are the chairs. She loves it and sits and plays at it a lot.She even makes us drag it into the kitchen to eat.

Great set and a very good price!

This set is very high quality, and I love the plastic coating on the table and chairs for easy clean up. I also love the safety feature that prevents the chairs from folding on the baby! I just wish the chair legs had some sort of felt to make them easier to move so my daughter can move the chair to get out instead of getting stuck.

Delta Enterprise Spiderman Table and Ottoman

Delta Enterprise Spiderman Table and OttomanReally like the table but not a fan of the storage ottoman/chair. They sit very low even for a toddler. We use the table everyday with other chairs we had.

Kidkraft Avalon Chair

KidKraft Avalon Chair - WhitePurchased as a desk chair based on Amazon's "Frequently Bought Together" section of the page for a student desk I was checking out. This Kidkraft chair was shown as the one that could go with the desk, I bought the student desk and the chair of a matching color.

I should've done more research.Found out after I got them that thechair is way too short for the 28" high desk. The chair's description doesn't say what height work surface they're for, nor a child's age group they're suitable for.Found out with more research that these chairs are intended to be mated up with a 22" table! Huge difference especially for an eight year old!

I suspect that "Frequently Bought Together" section is driven by statistics of on-line purchasers rather than any dimensions of compatibility. Therefore, I'm not the first to make this mistake nor will I be the last.

I found nothing else from Amazon I liked, so shopped on line elsewhere.Come to find out, the Amazon competitor had more choices in chair styles (which I've ordered) AND I could've gotten the DESK much cheaper too.It pays to shop around.

The chair appears to be a solid product and if I needed it for younger children, I'd keep it and get the matching table.

Unfortunately these issues, by their nature, are the product of buying things on line.

We bought the Avalon chair & table set and two additional chairs. They are beautiful and very strong--adults sit on them with no problem. They are a little big for the smallest children (age 2 and under), but sit even 8 and 9 year olds comfortably. My children use this table for crafts; for dinner parties; etc. The only problem is that the table surface can be easily marked--we have a green marker line across the top and a crayon line up one leg. I'd think that the table could have a more wipe-clean surface. Food stains wipe up easily--but I think that some crayons and markers (and not just permanent ones) can stain the surface.

I bought these chairs (and the matching table) for two boys who had outgrown their "kid-sized" (which was really preschool sized) set. These are sturdy enough for grownups (even 200 pound grownups), not too big for a five year old, and perfect for first through about third graders. The kids use these every day and they are holding up well.

Gund Sesame Street Jingle Bells Elmo

Gund Sesame Street Jingle Bells ElmoThis toy is WAY too loud. There is no volume adjustment and the inside is all sealed up so there is no way to lower the volume with the usual "tricks".It is so loud that I seriously worry about my daughter having it so close to her head while it is playing! You could clearly hear this guy from many rooms away!He was a gift and will definitely be put away with the Christmas decorations because I think the excessive volume has to be bad for any Elmo hugging toddler.

My 17 month old son loves this Elmo.I don't find it to be too loud at all.He has a singing Winnie the Pooh and we had a singing (non-scary) skeleton out at Halloween. Both he is frightened of so I was sure he was going to be scared of Elmo, too.Not the case!I pressed Elmo's foot, Elmo started to sing and my son came running over with a huge smile on his face and wanted to hold him. There's just something about Elmo!

We bought this for our 2 1/2 year old grand daughter since she enjoys Elmo so much on TV.She recently has begun singing Jingle Bells so it was a natural fit for her.Even though she got this after Christmas she thoroughly enjoyed it.No problems with the singing mechanism. The only problem so far is the never ending Jingle Bell singing!!!

Want Gund Sesame Street Jingle Bells Elmo Discount?

We got this last week for our 15 month old. He is in love with it. I can't say enough about it's ability to entertain. It is sort of loud if Elmo isn't seated when he is singing, since the speaker is in Elmo's rear. But, when he isn't seated while singing, he looks like he is convulsing, and that is distressing to my son. So, we just sit Elmo back up and keep on singing.

If you tire easily of jingle bells, don't get this. I enjoy it, and, if you watch the show, Elmo sings a "jingle bell" tuned song in every episode...

Laptop Desk with Built-In Cushion LED Light and Cup Holder

Laptop Desk with Built-In Cushion LED Light and Cup HolderWhat a regrettable purchase. The lapdesk looks unbelievably cheap, the "metal" parts were literally rubbing off right out of the box. There were so many threads hanging off the fabric that it was next to impossible to unzip it to insert batteries. The plastic battery holder had come unglued from the backing, and the flexible metal lamp piece kept falling out of the hole. The light did NOT work with brand new batteries, and has no plastic or glass covering the actual bulbs. Worst of all, there is NO included manufacturer info or warranty/ instructions. No address or phone number, NOTHING for "Thinktank Technology".I even Googled the company and came up empty-handed.This company clearly doesn't want to be located...and for that, I can hardly blame them!Terrible product, save your time, money & frustration!

This item was too small for a regular sized laptop. Outer dimensions are 16" wide by 13" deep and that includes the cup holder , pencil holder and the LED light that sticks out. The distance from the bottom of the cup holder to the base of the unit is 8 1/2" and the distance from the cup holder to the left side of the unit is 10 1/2", that is what I would consider usable workspace, which isn't much. If you have one of those little 7" to 10" net books from Acer or someone else this will probably work fine but if you have a 14" to 17" laptop, forget it. What a waste of $20.

Anatex CPC4000 Circle Play Center

Anatex CPC4000 Circle Play CenterFrom the photo, this toy looks absolutely amazing.I knew that it would not be large, but I was hoping that the various toys would be fun.

For the people who are not good with size, this toy is 15" in diameter. That means it is about the size of a pizza.

I didn't realize that the cube, cylinder and triangle that you put in each of the holes are not attached to the rest of the board and that the holes that they sit in do not go all the way through the board.

The plastic gears can turn but they are permanently affixed to the board using the white plastic screws in the center of each gear. These plastic screws are a little large so the gears jiggle around a little. The little round pieces that are shaped like dumbbells that go through the maze on the side do not glide smoothly and fall down when they hit an intersection because the corners at the intersections are rounded. The maze in the middle has a magnetic stylus that drags several very small magnetic pieces (about the size of a pea) around.I am afraid that if the transparent circle covering the magnetic maze in the center becomes detached that the small magnets under it may become choking hazards.

The metal screws to attach the legs, and the little red pieces that keep the clear plastic over the magnetic maze had spurs that could potentially hurt someone.

Joovy Doll Or Stuffed Toy Booster Seat Dot Pink

Joovy Doll Or Stuffed Toy Booster Seat Dot PinkI bought this booster seat a couple of weeks ago for my daughter and she loves it. It is so real like the ones we use for our kids. It has the 5 point harness system and it fits in the car just like the real ones do. It makes her feel like a real mommy when she brings her baby with us in the car and she learns about car safety too :)

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND :). I just ordered the baby seat too and I heard they are coming out with a stoller in 2 weeks. YEAH!!!!

I purchasedthis car seat for my daughter's birthday 9 months ago.It is great quality. It is sturdy and has withstood my daughter not only putting her dolls in it, but sitting in it herself. It comes with a metal clip that allows you to install it into the car.It actually helped encourage my daughter to sit in her car seat. Before we purchased it she hated sitting in the car seat (of course we still forced her to but it was a regular struggle) but I was able to use this seat to explain, and demonstrate (not buckling the doll in while we were driving and allowing her to see that the doll fell out and could have been injured) the importance of car seat safety.I would defintely recommend this product for play and as a teaching tool for sometimes stubborn toddlers.

Be Good My Little Sandbox Play Sets (Pirates Ahoy!)

Be Good My Little Sandbox Play SetsI was just amazed. My 3 year old son played with this for two hours straight. It's not so boring for an adult to participate with, if you like to rake the sand like those mini rock garden desk sets. There are a good variety of characters to make up many fun stories. He absolutely loves it and complains when we have to put it away.I am back for more sandbox sets.

Be prepared to do a little sweeping afterward if you play with this inside that is the only drawback.

Our little girl is very fascinated with sand and pirates. She is very rambunctious so I thought a tiny sandbox would not work for her. I thought it might just be a big mess. I was wrong. She was so intent on keeping all the sand in the box and playing with the tiny toys that she just stood there entranced. It was amazing, and gave me some time to relax a little before she decided to run around again.

Buy Be Good My Little Sandbox Play Sets (Pirates Ahoy!) Now

OK--so I knew this would be messy even before I purchased it, but my son is really into pirates, so I figured it could be an outdoor toy. The sand is VERY clingy to hands/table, etc. So indoors could really make a big mess.

The pieces are really cute, but they are very tiny. So I don't think it would be good for any child younger than 4.

All that said--he just loves this toy.Even his 8 yr old sister wants to join in, and it seems to hold his interest a long time, which is rare. The box is very sturdy and is holding up well, even though it got rained on one day! It would be nice if they had included an extra package of sand, since it is inevitable that it is slowly disappearing over time.

Overall, it is a big hit with my 4 yr old son!

Prince PRP900 Pro Speed 900 Professional Table Tennis Racket

Prince PRP900 Pro Speed 900 Professional Table Tennis RacketThis racket is good for beginners who play at home. But the rubber is not ITTF approved and it is not a professional racket as advertized. The ratings also are not accurate. The speed is 5 at best. One thing that is true is the head heavyness of this racket. For this price, go for a butterfly or some other racket.

This paddle was not of the caliber I was expecting. I wish I had spent a few dollars more for the Stiga or Butterfly paddles.

I was somewhat disappointed in the quality of this item. The sides of the bare plywood between the handle and the head were rough, so I had to sand them down to prevent my hands getting rubbed sore! There was no varnish or polyurethane coating to give it a finished look. The thin plasticprotecting the head during shipment was also difficult to remove-it was so stuck onto the surface that I was afraid I would gouge the rubber trying to remove it (there are still a few pieces clinging to it after a month or so of use!!)

I was looking to replace my old (30+ years) Japanese soft Barna paddle made by Dunlop, but I guess they don't make 'em like they used to!!

A Game of Thrones: The Board Game Second Edition

A Game of Thrones: The Board Game Second EditionI came into this game not as a board gamer but as a fan of George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series. Like most people I have played my share of board games in my life, but not many more complex than Monopoly, Clue, or the occasional game of Risk. I'm sure that a more serious board gamer will review this product here in the future, so I will provide what perspective I can.

This game is incredible and has made me interested in playing more serious board games in the future. I will not attempt to explain the complex rules of this game. Fantasy Flight Games's website has very helpful resources for this, including the complete rules PDF and a tutorial video.

I recommend that any group intending to play this has each individually watched that tutorial video. On top of that, at least one person will need to read (at least two times probably) the rule book. Trying to explain this game to others is a tall order. However, once the game is understood and a few practice rounds done, the game takes on a life of its own.

The six houses available for play are extremely well balanced and each has its own advantages and disadvantages when it comes to geographical board position, supply, influence, and unit types. These houses really each lend themselves to different play styles, but nevertheless challenge the players to do something outside of this comfort zone.

For example, the Starks have a near unconquerable hold on the snowy North (as in the books). Based on the geography, if the Stark player chose he could easily defend his homeland against all comers. However, Stark will never win the game this way and it is only when he stretches his resources thin that his land is more vulnerable. Other houses such as Tyrell are thrown into the fray from the beginning and have no such defensive strategy available to them. Greyjoy has absolute dominance over the sea and if played well can serve as a naval raiding nuisance that others must band together to defeat. I suspect that players will quickly see which houses are ideal for the way they wish to play.

The game is for 3-6 players and I don't really recommend 3. Without the more Southern houses, Baratheon is able to take over the territory requisite for victory pretty quickly unless the other two players band against him.The manufacturer has made changes in this 2nd edition that have improved this kind of problem over the original, but it's still possible. 4 players is more balanced and quite fun, but 5 or 6 is ideal. The games will certainly take 2 hours at the minimum and realistically probably 3 or 4. The game length could reach up to 6 hours if the group is particularly engaged.

On that note, no other game I've played does as good a job of drawing the players in as this one. The game encourages alliances as well as betrayals. With my group we would talk and roleplay somewhat during the game. Meanwhile, we opened up text messages to each other to facilitate backdoor betrayals so that other players could not hear. This is all made ten times more fun if you are a fan of the series and can get that giddy excitement by virtue of fighting over a familiar city like Harrenhal.

A few other notes:

Combat is entirely luckless and based on strategy and skill. There is an optional module included that allows you to introduce a small element of luck, which I think is a good idea after a few games.

The board game components themselves are amazing. Everything feels very well designed and produced. I especially love the army units and their marbled plastic design.

All in all this is just a fantastic board game, especially for those who are a fan of the book and TV series. For those who aren't, it's still an excellent game in and of itself, and it might introduce you to one of the greatest fantasy series of all time.

EDIT 1/12/12:

Thought I'd throw an edit into this review after some time. First of all the game is still great. The main point of this update is to say that there is an issue with the original printing of this game involving warping of the board. My board is slightly affected by this. Others have it worse and some have no issue at all. However, Fantasy Flight Games will be correcting the issue on future printings, and will be sending out free replacements to those who need them. You can contact their support via their website, they are very helpful people.

So first off I have played a few board games before this one mainly like Risk and Axis and Allies type stuff.I'm a huge fan of the books series and now as a result the HBO show as well I suppose. This game has blown me away with how much fun we have had with it.The rules do take some time to get a feel for and we even made sure to copy some quick reference sheets for each player. With six people there is really a surprising balance to the kingdoms. So much of the game is based on alliances and the right strategies.

We have played four games so far.Three of them had six people and the other one had four.First off I want to say that the Westeros cards have made it so each of the four games have gone completely different. Its too hard to explain without explaining all of the rules, but more or less at the start of each round there are a series of cards that are drawn at random.Depending on what those cards do the game will change accordingly. One game it was a while before we were really able to make a lot of troops, another game there were so many troops on the board so fast the map was just one big powder keg.In the games we have played there has been great shifts in power within the games. The latest game we played, we were more than halfway into the game and all six houses still had an equal chance of winning.Diplomacy is the key.You need players who know what they're doing, players who aren't afraid to backstab a good friend.I have never been more addicted to a board game in my life.Just try to make sure you have six people who can think strategically.(We have actually been nerdy enough that we do all of our diplomacy through text messaging so we can communicate while looking at the map and not let the other houses know what our messages are)

So all in all

Pros:

1.Surprising Game balance

2.Awesome replay value. We've played four games, all four games have gone differently not just based on alliances but based on the randomized Westeros cards

3.Forces diplomacy. If you're going against strategic minds you're going to have to make alliances just like in the books.

4.Great attention to detail with house cards cool powers that change strategies and alter games.

Cons:

1.The rules are a bear.I almost didn't want to put this on cons since I think its also what allows it to be such a great game. But I can see how they can be intimidating. There have been some minor rules that we even initially messed up in one game, fixed it in another game, etc.

2.We feel Tyrion and Melisandre are underpowered in their house card powers.Really minor fanboy problem

Notes:

Better the players, better the game will be

Strategies change when playing with fewer players, people need to adjust

Diplomacy is a must

Get through the rules, play some practice rounds, well worth it

A Game of Throne: The Board Game First Edition has been my favorite game for a couple of years. This game has the best war strategy mechanics out of all the games I have played. The Second Edition just improved upon an already loved game. I won't go into depth of how it is played, but I would definitely recommend playing with someone that knows how to play your first time if possible. The rules can be a lot to take in at once, but is definitely worth the learning curve. A highly recommend this game to anyone that enjoys long strategy games. Along with the additions of ports and siege engines, there are a couple minor rule changes with the second edition. So if you are going from first edition to second edition I recommend you do a thorough read through of the rules before playing. Having knowledge of the book isn't needed but definitely adds to gaming experience. I actually decided to read the books after enjoying first edition game so much.

The only problem I had was my copy has a warped board, but after contacting Fantasy Flight I found out there was a cutting issues with some of the first prints. They were quick and responsive and are sending me out a new board.

I recently had to buy this board game because I am a fan of the show and had to somehow fill the void left by the 2nd season finale!

I came by the board game searching for the books on amazon and upon researching if it was too hard to play I decided to give it a shot. I am by no means a serious board game player and not into board games all that much. I have only played board games a handful of times these last few years with Monopoly being the most complex and I have played RISK maybe 5-10 times my whole life so don't be scared to try this game if you think is too hard.

I have played this game 4 times now with only casual board game players like myself and the overwhelming majority of them have enjoyed it. It did help that most of them were fans of the show as well but once you get into the game you really enjoy it and lose track of time as you are constantly planning your next move, who to form an alliance with, whether to betray a current alliance etc. So even those not familiar with the show will enjoy it!

What I really like about the game is it's mostly strategy that will determine whether you win or lose, though luck will always play some roll. It's important to mention the game comes with an optional add-on(Tides of Battle cards) that creates that extra bit of chance for those who prefer that.

As for the complexity of the game it really is easy once you start playing it. What makes it feel complex is that there are a lot of rules and things to keep up with, but it's quite simple to follow them once you've played for a few rounds (though you will find yourself correcting things that were being played wrong in subsequent games).

What I would suggest for casual board game players to do is read the rules once, watch a youtube video (there's quite a few out there but this one I found to be the most helpfuland just start a practice simulated game. The one good thing about the instructions is that they are set out in the order that the game will be played so you can play a simulated game as you read the rules. It really only takes a few game rounds to get the gist of it, off course some things will require re-reading as with any game.

I'll mention again that setting up the game and playing a simulated game as you read the rules will REALLY help you understand the game!

The one thing to take into consideration when buying this game is that it will take 3-5 hours to complete. The more experienced the players the less time it will take but I always tell new players to expect to play for 5 hours. Be sure the people you play with know this so everyone's into the game when you are crossing that 3hr mark.(which actually goes by fast when you're playing the game)

In conclusion it's a really entertaining game and even casual gamers will like it. It's a game that will make you think and give you a "can't wait till my next turn" feeling. Like the show the game will bring out unusual alliances and backstabbing which just makes it more fun! For fans of the show it's great to use the character you like and playing the board game gives you a sense of the territory of Westeros and the advantages/disadvantages the families have.

If you are unsure because you think it might be too complex don't be, the game is a lot of fun and after a few times playing it you will find yourself(as other reviewers have mentioned) interested in similar strategy based board games!

Want A Game of Thrones: The Board Game Second Edition Discount?

I own and play both the first and second editions, and unquestionably, the second edition is both fairer and more strategic. Adding ports, removing Robb from the Starks (he's back but with a much less game-breaking ability on his card), setting up the Martells in the south to compete directly with Baratheon as well as Tyrell are all important steps. To me the biggest change though is adding that starred * Consolidate Power tokens now allow the faction to Muster, in that square, a number of points equal to the strength of the castle/stronghold (ie 0/1/2) there-without a Mustering card. In doing so you sacrifice the 1/2 power tokens though. Adds a lot of depth, not to mention strategic choice, early in the game.

However, the game really could have gone through some play testing. The Greyjoys now have ridiculous House Cards, so, with just a little careful husbanding and an early first clash of kings, they can wipe the Lannisters entirely out of the game. There are very few defensive moves Lannisport can make. (One game they used their *Consolidate Power every turn to pump out ships, but even with a fleet of 3+2=5 (their supply max), the Greyjoys wiped them out with a mere 2 ships (because they'd held both stars and the Sword, but mostly because of the House Card Victarion Greyjoy). Just nothing they can do about it.)

Further there is a noted problem with the boards shipping warped and being of poor quality.

All in all with 5 or 6 people, the game is fun. Fans of the series will enjoy it, but so will Diplomacy-type board game players (for all its kluged-on mechanics.)

I bought this table and chairs set for my 2 year old Grandson and i am so happy with it...No worries if he will catch his little fingers folding up the table or chairs with the snap locks.Very sturdy i highly recommend this set. I did choose not to give him the wipe off dry erase markers...did not want him getting the wrong idea to write on other tables.

LeapFrog Spin and Sing Alphabet Zoo

LeapFrog Spin and Sing Alphabet ZooMy ten-month old loves this toy.It has kept her attention longer then any other toy she owns.It has three musical settings which are pretty engaging to her. On one setting, the spinning of the ball is directly linked to the music, (the previous reviewer was right about it being one of the least annoying muzak in toydom), so when it stops spinningso does the song.So my baby girl stops whatever she has wandered away to do and goes back and spins it again. And again. And again.

Oh, bonus: it has volume control.

UPDATE: Three years later, baby girl #2 has proven how durable it is.She is somewhat more of a hard slapper then a spinner, but the little toy has held up well.I don't know what it is about this toy, but both my children really has gotten great use out of it.

This toy plays a really cute song that is quite catchy, to me at least. I also own the Leap frog alphabet one. My daughter (8 months) enjoys both but I think this one is more age appropriate for her. As with any toy they are not just going to learn the alphabet or differnt animals without some input on your part. My daughter enjoys any tow that she can spinn, so this was a no brainer.

Pros: Lots of different animal noises, cute and not annoying song, multiple setting for more fun/ learning.

Cons: The ball does not detach like the other leap frog learning ball. It is not as well made either. The other one is made of a soft rubber and is durable and easy to clean. This one is plastic and has a large sticker that goes around it. I haven't had much problem cleaning it so far(3 months), but with drool and a wet cloth to wipe it down I'm not sure how long the sticker will hold up. Also I know it is hard to find all animals starting with the correct letter of the alphabet and put a good noise to it, but some of them are just out there. For instance Umbrella bird, not a bad choice, but then put a bird noise to it instead of the random off the wall noise that they did, who cares if there are more than one bird noise on it.

Overall a really cute toy just wish it was a little higher quality like the other one that they made.

Buy LeapFrog Spin and Sing Alphabet Zoo Now

I originally bought this for my 6 month old son because it kept him engaged in the store while I shopped. Once we brought it home, I figured he would become bored with it. I am pleased to say he still plays with it 4 months later.

There are three song features. One that plays the ABC song while the wheel is spinning. One that starts "Spin, spin a letter..." If the wheel stopped spinning on the letter B, the lady's voice says, "B","B", and then a bird chirps. The third features animals that start with each letter of the alphabet. If the wheel stops spinning on the letter C, the lady's voice says, "CAT","CAT" followed by a cat's meow. The tunes are quite catchy and not annoying. My husband and I find ourselves singing the tunes as well. There are two volume options. When the ball is not spinning, no music is beging played, which is a great feature and it teaches cause and effect.

We have decided that this toy is indestructable as well. We use it on his high chair at times to keep him entertained while feeding him. I can't tell you how many times he has pushed this off his high chair, and we were certain it would break. It hasn't broken yet. Have only had to change the batteries. It is also easy to clean. The sticker with the letters and animals is glossy, so it is easy to wipe. The rest of it is hard plastic.

I would definitely recommend this toy! :-)

This toy is cute in the box. But it got played with maybe once. It doesn't hold any of my kids attention, and I have four of all different ages. It was a gift for a birthday, not something I would have bought. I try very hard to buy toys that my kids will really interact with because with four kids you have lots of toys, many that never really get used. Leapfrog makes many great toys that are educational and fun, but you still have to pick and choose for your kids personalities. This might be fun for a young baby, but not for much older than that.

This is my first review ever and oh how deserving this toy is!!! I love the Spin and sing alphabet zoo so much! I bought this toy for my daughter who is 1 year old. It was a Christmas gift. My daughter loves to carry it around the house and it seems very durable. My son is two and he loves to spin the wheel and to say the animals names. There is several ways to play and the music is catchy. It also has TWO volume selections which is nice. Now let me share one more funny thing about this toy. My daughter who is 6 and her cousin who is 12 love this toy too, I haven't had one person come over without giving it a spin. Its fun and educational and my favorite most played with toy. I would buy this toy again, or get one for a gift. You will find yourself giving it a spin...guaranteed. Hope this was helpful and have a great 2009!!!

Foam Magnetic ABC & 123 (set of 36)

Foam Magnetic ABC & 123These are simply THE BEST!!! We bought our Daughter that Pink Plastic Easel most kids have. It also comes in blue for boys. It comes with a magnetic dry erase board on one side and a chalkboard on the other side. Well the magnets that come with it are not attractive or made very well and easily fit in a lil ones mouth. So we bought these! They are too big for lil ones to bite and are so much better in every way! Big, easy to grasp and so Cute & Fun!!!

My 18 month old just opened this toy for Christmas, and she LOVES it!I can't say how durable it will be, but I have high hopes for it, considering they letters/numbers are made of foam.I think they will probably get lost before they tear or break.Maybe she could take small bites out or something, but we will be watching her while she plays anyway.I read someone's review that said it was hard to tell what some of the letters were... I agree, but only for a few.M and W seem pretty interchangeable.I can't tell which way is up on I.But I don't really think either of those things matters. All in all, I love this toy, and so does my daughter!

I think the letters need to be a little more clear. There different shapes make the actual letter hard to read for young children that are learning.

Fisher-Price EZ Clean High Chair

Fisher-Price EZ Clean High Chair, Coco SorbetI have never written a review before but am grateful to everyone who has in the past and I can't let this one slide.

This highchair is perfect!I love how easy it is to clean. We've been through a few highchairs over the years with our children and this is by far the best one. Finally a company catches on.Besides being super easy to clean (no more stained straps or having to disassemble the entire chair to get it clean), it was easy to assemble (15-20 minutes, with little ones trying to help), and love the design.I love how the part of the tray comes off for cleaning, leaving another tray for baby, yet still stays attached and doesn't go flying off when baby grabs it.I also love how the tray actually goes in toward baby's chest instead of leaving a huge hole for food to fall into baby's lap.

So glad we spent the little extra money for this highchair. It will be well used for quite a while.

I really like this chair so far. My 10 month old son could stand up and fall out of our eddie bauer wooden high chair so I purchased this one on Amazon for $89. Even with out the study and easy to clean 5 point harness he is safely but comfortable restrained.I have very limited space in my house and this chair, while bulkier than my eddie bauer chair is still very compact and folds up nicely if I need to get it out of the way. When I read about the easy to clean cushion I was nervous that it would be plasticy but it is really soft and comfy for baby and like the name says, very EZ to clean! The tray does seem to be a little lower that I would like but it doesn't seem to bother my son it just means he gets a little more food on his shirt (oh well). Also the inside of the tray curves in towards baby, which makes it kind of awkward but again it still seems comfortable. When I first put my son in it, it looked like he was almost too big but then as soon as he got out, my 3 year old daughter climbed in and she fit just fine! The straps are super easy to adjust as is the height (even while baby is in). The tray cover actually covers the edges of the tray too unlike other chairs I've seen where it's just the top and it hard enough to get off where baby can't throw it on the ground but easy enough that I can get it off with one hand. All in all I great high chair and I would recommend it for anyone!

I was looking for a simple chair that would be easy to clean, comfortable, and able to push up to the table without the tray.I love the smooth lines of this chair and the straps are brilliant! It is very comfortable for my 8 month old and my 3 year old.The only things that I don't love are the wide footprint (although this also equals stability), and the non-adjustable foot rest.Overall I am very happy with this purchase and think we will get lots of use out of it.

I bought this high chair right about the time my son was going to start eating solids. I had actually registered for a different one, and when I went to buy it, it was no longer available. I am so glad it wasn't! When I saw this one in-store (BRU), I had to buy it. Not only was it reasonably priced (Amazon's price on it is pretty good, too, especially for the Luv U Zoo print), but there were so many great features that it was a no-brainer.

First off, to address some of the complaints about size, my son is on the bigger side he is 100th percentile in length and 95th in weight and pretty much has been so far (he's 10 months old, about 32" long and about 25 pounds) and we have no problem with his fitting in the high chair. He also has chunky thighs that have no problem fitting inbetween the little t-bar thing. The tray can go all the way in without a problem and without squishing him. I do foresee that when he is bigger, it may be an issue that the back of the seat isn't very broad, so he may end up not being able to sit back all the way, but probably by that point he will be able to sit in a booster. So for those with babies on the bigger side, do not fear, and if you're worried about it, go check it out in-store at BRU. When I bought mine, there was a pre-assembled one on display. The upside to the chair's smaller size, though, is that my son doesn't have a lot of room to wiggle around and slip down, which helps (1) keep things clean and (2) focus on the task at hand (eating).

Second, I'd like to address the complaints that this high chair does not have wheels on the back, just the front, which some say makes it hard to push across the floor/carpeting.All I do is lean the chair forward so it's on the front wheels and push it backwards or pull it behind me.I am able to easily do this while carrying a 25-lb baby, and I move it from the dining room into the kitchen and back (about 20 feet) every day.I even roll it over an area rug in the dining room to get it to the kitchen, and I can do this without a problem.Maybe if I was rolling it with my son *in* the chair, it might be hard to do, but you're not supposed to do that. This chair is plenty light enough to remove him from the chair first, carry him, then move the chair where it needs to go, so there's really no need to move the chair with a baby strapped into it.

Otherwise I can't think of any cons, but here are the pros:

1. See above about the size of the chair with regard to non-wigglyness.

2. Cover is washable but also wipeable. Honestly I haven't had to wash it yet because it wipes off so nicely. It feels cotton-y, too, so you don't have that plastic/vinyl feeling. My only issue is that lint gets stuck to it from my son's clothes, but a quick swipe of a lint remover takes care of that.

3. The straps wipe off easily and, best of all, DON'T STAIN! It's admittedly gross when you see someone's high chair with the stained straps. You know they've cleaned them, but it still looks nasty. This is probably reason #1 why I bought a brand new chair instead of buying a used one!

4. The tray is dishwasher safe but also goes inward towards your child rather than leaves a gap. This is great for falling food it's more likely to hit the tray than end up in your child's lap. I find it helpful for teaching your baby to pick up finger foods and self-feed.

5. The chair is height adjustable and recline-able. Both are VERY easy to do.The straps are also super easy to adjust as your child grows.

6. Assembly was very easy! I was able to do it by myself in about a half an hour, and I'm not the handiest of women.

7. The print is adorable and unisex. We have a little boy, but who knows if any subsequent children will also be. Nothing like having a house full of frilly girly stuff or tough-boy stuff and then having a second child and feeling like you need new stuff.

8. SAFETY FEATURE What a LOT of people don't realize, and no one publicizes, is that most high chairs have a hidden danger... When kids are big enough to use their feet to kick off the table and push themselves backwards, they also have the ability to tip the chair over backwards. Sure, it's not likely, and some high chairs are probably more prone to it than others, but because of the leg configuration on this high chair, it is pretty much impossible for your child to accomplish this dangerous feat. I hadn't even thought of this until someone mentioned that their child had done this (as a warning not to keep my son too close to the table), so when I saw this high chair in the store, I realized it was built to prevent that, perhaps inadvertently.

I can't speak to the foldability of this chair because, well, I haven't traveled with it. However, because this chair is much more affordable than so many other high chairs, you can really afford to get a separate portable chair (the kind that straps to a regular chair) for travel.

I really can't say enough good things about this high chair. Everyone I know who has a baby (or is going to have a baby) and is in the market for a high chair probably hears way too much about it from me. I think a lot of folks think more money = better quality, which is often the case, in my opinion, but in this case they would be way off. The chair I registered for was about $150, and I am so grateful that I found this one instead!

I really like this highchair. I would give it a 4.5. It has a lot of good qualities. There are maybe a couple of things I think could have been better but, there aren't enough to bother me(like I don't like the orange circles but I actually did't notice them after about a day). Here's what I think of the features:

THE COVER

-the cover really is easy to clean. I can get it off easily if I need to. Water beads on it but, it does not feel plastic like at all. Also, I left carrots on it overnight and it came off easily and it didn't stain it. (I have the circles pattern). Because of how it is designed food doesn't get under the cover on the sides, which is awesome.

THE STRAPS

-The straps are rubber of something similar and are sooo easy to clean. It does leave red marks if the straps are too tight but they adjust easily, even while the child is in the high chair.

THE T-BAR AREA

-I have a long and skinny girl and she fits great(8.5 months and about 18lbs and almost 30'' long). My best friend's son is short and a chunk and also fits comfortably. He is 6.5 months and weighs around 23lbs. The t-bar on the high chair doesn't bother him. From the back on the high chair to the t-bar is 7 inches. On mine it looks a lot smaller because of how the cover is sewn. When my baby isn't in the high chair the cover doesn't sit right up against the back of the chair. There's a least an inch of spacebetween the cover and the chair itself. So, it's not as bad as it seems.

THE FOOTPRINT

-This high chair doesn't have a big footprint. I mean this is a positive way. It's sturdy, but not huge. It's smaller than all the other high chairs I've had or my friends have. The footprint is 22''x27''. (24''x27'' if you measure the wheels in the front as the width)

THE TRAY

-Now about the tray. Yes the top tray could've covered the sides but, it doesn't really bother me because the tray can be pushed up right against my daughter. The top tray will not fit in a smaller dishwasher. It fits in ours but only sideways so, it takes up a lot of room. The top tray does have a nudge thing that it kind of "snaps" to. So, it doesn't just sit on top of the base tray but, it doesn't fully snap on either. My 8.5 is nowhere near being able to take it off. I also love that the tray can be put on one-handed by using the front handle or by using the two handles on the side. Also, you don't have to slide it on. You can just put it straight on and take it straight off.

THE SEAT

-The seat reclines into 3 positions, which is great but the handle to recline in on the back down right behind the child's bottom. It would be easier to reach if it were at the top but. Also, the handle it the kind where you pull it to unlock it and then have to help push the seat down until it locks again. I wish it had one where you pull on the handle then move it to the position you want by pushing or pulling on the handle. It also has different heights which are nicely spaced. Oh and the foot rest on the bottom doesn't move.

UPDATE

-I have now used the fold feature and traveled with the highchair. It was not made to store it folded up on a regular basis. The are two buttons you push behind the wheels. While pushing these, you swing the back part of the legs around to the front of the highchair. It's a lot easier to do with two people. We were able to stick in the trunk of our Kia Spectra just fine without a lot a other things in the trunk. If I had to travel with this and other stuff, I would unscrew the caps on the tops of the poles and slide the chair part off so it is in two parts.
