Alex Toys Paint By Number Kit (5"X7") 4 per Pack

Paint By Number: Favorite PetsMy 5 year old got this as a gift.I have been looking for a paint by number activity, but most of them were too hard for her age. This one is good because the shapes are large enough for little hands still learning coordination can paint without much difficulty and the paints are in the shape of the numbers, so it is easier to her to reference than if the numbers were printed somewhere beside the paint. My three year old actually did this without much difficulty, and it helped her with learning her numbers. This project is a great idea!!Thanks again, Alex toys!

The paper used for the painting is not as sturdy as I hoped. But it's a good starter project for young children learning to paint and stay in the lines.

I'v loved these paint by number sets since I was a little girl, and so has my 19 year old daughter who actualy painted 2 of the pictures.I got them for my younger children who are 6 and 4 years old who love them too. Great for Christmas vacation activities. Also the numbers are more clear than they were years ago.

I bought this for my five year old grandson. It was easy enough for him to do yet enough of a challenge to make it fun, too.The colors were brilliant.I highly recommend it.

There are some crafts that are so fun and easy and affordable, that you just have to ask yourself why not?

Of the three available sets including Farm Friends and Pets, the Garden Creatures pack was our favorite.

Our kids, who can count and paint, enjoyed freelancing on this project and simply painting the colors they wanted in the spaces they wanted thereby creating their own colorful design. That's the joy of so many of the products in the Alex line: as a beginner, you can follow the pattern; or, as a more confident artist, you can imagine your own creation.

This is a good beginner project for young kids who need direction from a paint-by-number system. It's also a good intermediate project for older kids who like to paint but can't draw figures or design their own composition.

The six bright paint colors had a smooth consistency that gave good coverage on the hard boards (which didn't warp with the water-based paint). The best method of painting, though, is to use one brush per color which eliminates repeated washing between applications. Keep the brush enclosed in the package, but purchase extra brushes to streamline their painting experience as well as reducing your time rinsing at the sink!

Highly recommend for the young Picassos in your house.
