Disney Princess Ultimate Fairytale Kitchen

Disney Princess Ultimate Fairytale KitchenI ordered this kitchen for my 3 year-old daughter for Christmas. She must have seen a commercial for it because she would not stop talking about it and even walked right up to Santa and asked for it and kept telling anyone who asked that she wanted a "pink princess kitchen with a phone" for Christmas. My husband and I set it up last night and it's complete junk. It is not the kind of quality you imagine when you pay that price. Luckily I did not pay full price or I would be even more upset. But the retail price on this should be about $29 and I paid significantly more than that.It is nothing like other kitchens on the market (of comparable price) thatare durable and a child can enjoy for years. It is very light weight plastic and seems like it will tip over. The background scenes are made of flimsy poster board that is very loosely attached to the kitchen.I have a 1.5 year old son that is no doubt going to rip the poster board off and destroy it within one week.I can't believe Disney puts its name on something like this: I would guess that a "free" Happy Meal toy is higher quality.

I bought this Disney Princess Ultimate Fairytale Kitchen for my two and a half year old daughter for Christmas. She absolutely loves this set! Her favorite colors are pink and purple and loves all the princesses and playing pretend. It was perfect for her.

Pros: Very girly! Multiple princesses on it. Super easy to assemble (Basically snap together 95% of it, slide in cardboard backdrops and apply stickers. Sound features are at a good volume, The cell phone is all that requires batteries, It comes with dishes (plenty for a 2 year old), 3 songs from the cookbook (I hate to hear the same thing all the time) and it will shut off as soon as you try the oven timer, tea pot bubbling or frying dials, the phone is only audible when held up to the ear.

Neutral: (you decide) Its super lightweight and sometimes the faucet falls off when bumped. It's not for kids that like to climb, and has lots of stickers Stickers IncludedOn the cookbook (4) Belle pic and recipe, Snow White pic and recipe, Ariel pic and song. Large Tiana on the oven and the little vent above her head, Large Belle on the cupboard and "you're invited" above her head. Last is cut up apples on the counter. (I didn't mind applying them)

Cons: #1 it's OVERPRICED, It's not durable and the cardboard backdrops do not attach securely. The backdrops slide in, but the tabs that are supposed to keep them in their place do not account for kids that will touch the cutouts. I have to keep putting them back where they go. I will have to tape them to keep them in place permanently. This may not be an issue for everyone, but my daughter is curious and loves to touch them, especially the window.

Now that I've given all the pros and cons I will say that my daughter does really love this set and I couldn't find anything cheaper. I figured this is a toy that will only keep her interest for few years anyway. Most older kids don't like play kitchens. I wanted to find one that was reasonable for the time she would be using it. I definitely didn't have $100 to spend on a play kitchen or the space to fit a large kitchen. This fits nicely in my daughter's room. The price currently listed is $89.99 which is significantly higher than when I bought it!! I would never pay that much for this set. It was on sale last week for $49.99 at Target. Online at Target the price is the same $89.99, I'm not sure if it was an in store deal or if the prices went back up. I expected to pay a little more (than $49.99) to get this for Christmas, because practically every store has sales after Christmas so that was somewhat expected.

I would NEVER recommend buying this unless you get a good deal, because you will be disappointed. The review on Target is horrible. 1 out of 5 stars. The picture was deceiving also because the primary pic is not of this kitchen. The second pic is the actual kitchen. They have original price as $149.99... they have to be kidding!!As I said, it snaps together so it's not made to last. Many kitchens that cost over $100 have issues, and I didn't want to invest in something that would just get scratched and have missing or broken pieces etc. This worked perfectly for me, and was at a good price. I would figure out what you want from a kitchen. I have 3 kids, but my sons are interested in different things. If I wanted a set for 3 kids that is sturdy and will last, I would buy something better.

Purchased this item as my 2 year old talked about it every time she seen it on TV. Now she has a great Step 2 kitchen, but this year was all about the Princess. Well thought we got lucky and got a good deal from amazon. We were so wrong, my daughter got this from Santa on the 25th an by the 27th all the cardboard backs had fallen off. She also left a door open and tripped cracking the frig door down the middle. I would have expected a piece of plastic could have handled a 27 lbs toddler. All in all Disney did just what they set out to do. Make a bright an colorful kitchen, add the princess theme, run relentless commercials, then charge an outrages price.Unfortunately this was my daughters Big gift this year. I learned a valuable lesson for Christmas's to come, open and check the quality, before Christmas Eve when all the stores are closed and now you are forced to set up a worthless, over priced, flimsy piece of JUNK..

There was already a kitchen set for my little one at home, and was working just fine. I wanted a pink one to match with her pink chair & table set, so I got this. So, if your purpose is to "match up", this one works. Otherwise, as a functional unit (even from a 2-year old's standpoint), it isn't as fun as others in the market. In other words, there aren't enough things to do on this kitchen set (baking unit and fridge unit a joke, and there's no microwave). I even spent more on this purchase than I did on the other kitchen set from last year. I sort of regret the purchase, but every time I see the matching "pink" in my little one's room, I tell myself that it is worth it.

I've actually never written a product review before but I'm so disappointed with this kitchen, I had to warn others. This was my daughters big gift from Santa this year and luckily she's young enough not to notice the poor quality(and hopefully not to care when santa makes an exchange). The plastic is thin and flimsy, and the cardboard backing didn't even stay together during the first five minutes of play. I'm so glad I didn't pay full price for this piece of junk. We will be returning it and shelling out a little more money for a higher quality product with better reviews. don't waste your money on this kitchen!
