Educo Double Bubble Wire Maze

Educo Double Bubble Wire MazeMy daughter received this toy for Christmas, when she was eight months old.She truly enjoyed working on moving the beads on the wires (as well as picking it up and turning it over, letting the beads move themselves). Now eleven months old, she's gotten quite good at maneuvering those beads (yes, it still holds her attention), and despite numerous drops on a hard floor and being occasionally used to pound things (such as tables and drums, both for fun and for emphasis), there is nary a chip of paint out of place and the wires remain unbent (or at least, only bent the way they're supposed to be)!Of course, the suction cups do not stick to any surface in our house, but that hasn't dulled her pleasure in the least.(However, she did get a rather rude awakening when they stuck like glue to a formica table at a restaurant we managed to keep her from toppling her high chair, despite the force she used to pull it free, but if your child is used to playing with the toy "unstuck," you may wish to leave it that way even when there are good, "stickable" surfaces available.)So overall, an excellent and well-loved toy.

Here is my one complaint about it:the wood for the base is a nice, soft wood with a thin, clear finish. What this means is that if you have a child, like mine, who likes to chew everything, it is possible for them through the use of opposing front teeth and a great deal of saliva, to turn small bits of the base into mushy, splintery messes sadly, not very safe. When this happened to ours, I let it dry and sanded down the splinters, but I no longer feel that I can let her play with it with "light supervision" (for instance, with her in the high chair while I wash dishes. In other words, if you sometimes affectionately refer to your child as "Beaver Baby," this might not be the best choice in bead mazes.

This is the best toy I've ever received as a gift.My 9 month old never tires of it, and it goes everywhere with us.It will entertain him the entire time we are at a restaurant, and if I need to get something done at home, I stick it on his high chair and he's happy as a clam.He loves any toy where he can spin things, and he loves the wire maze toys, so this is perfect.I am going to be buying this as a gift for every pregnant woman I know. It's a must-have!

Our twin baby girls enjoy this toy and it will keep one of them entertained for a few minutes, which is nice! However, the suction cups aren't that great. Both girls can pull it right off of wherever it's stuck. But this probably would happen no matter what, kids just want to hold things in their laps anyway don't they?

My only other complaint is that when I researched the maker, Hape International, I was under the impression they were a European company and was disappointed when I got the toy and found out it was made in China.

Still... the kids love it, it helps their hand/eye coordination and cause/effect skills.Great size for little hands.

I bought this toy for myson but it didnt keep his attention for a long time, now he is 10 months, he is actually moving the things around and like it much more. I think it is a great educational toy and helps to work on their hand/finger control, but for a little bit older tots.

I bought this toy to take with me to restaurants and such to occupy my son when he was around 12 months old. Unfortunately, the suction cups on the bottom don't work. I've even tried wetting them to see if that would help to no avail.

Other than that, this toy is pretty durable and sturdy, it just doesn't work at all like I had hoped.
