Star Wars E3 DF06 DARTH VADER

Star Wars E3 DF06 DARTH VADERThis piece is just starting to make the rounds as I am reviewing it. This toy represents the scene in which Anakin Skywalker becomes the Darth Vader we all know.

The set comes with a main figure and a swiveling operating table that locks the figure into place using spring-loaded arm clamps. Additional pieces include: 1 removable Vader helmet, a removable glove for his right arm and 2 detachable lower legs and 1 detachable arm as well as a lightsaber.

The base of the set has connection points that will allow you to connect it into the rear portion of the Mustafar playset as well as a variety of stands that have been shipping with the Collection 2 action figures.

After years of waiting we finally get to see the birth of Vader in Star Wars Episode III Revenge of the Sith. This toy captures this most highly anticipated event in the Star Wars universe.

The list of removable parts include the helmet, chest-plate, right gauntlet, cape, lightsaber, left forearm and right and left lower legs. It also comes complete with an operating table that swivels to take Vader from horizontal to vertical position. The cape is molded plastic; NOT cloth.

I am a die-hard fan of Star Wars so I had to get this figure and Vader's Medical Droid to complete the scene.

The funnest part is to rebuild vader, but after you rebuild him he look's a little awkward. With his plastic cape on, he dosen't stand very well, in addition his shoulders should have been bigger. His arms only move up and down and eventually his helmet would fall off easily. This great for a diorama and an okay toy, but i think Hasbro could have done better.

I think it's already been implied in other reviews that if you're looking for a good figure of the fully "reconstructed" Darth Vader then this toy isn't for you. However if you're looking for an extremely cool diorama you can get this and the medical droid and place the droid next to the table where they interlock. There are some inaccuracies including the fact that the robotic legs were attached before he was "suited up." A suggestion I have is to get the burnt up, battle damaged, Mustafar anakin and put him on the table and then you'll have one of the coolest dioramas around. By the way, did this toy, and the scene in the movie for that matter, remind anyone else of Frankenstein?
