Step2 Naturally Playful Picnic Play Table

This is a great table.We have used it for sand, water, and as a picnic table.I've uploaded a couple of pictures so that you can see the table being used for sand and for water (since the product post doesn't provide pictures for that).

We have thoroughly enjoyed this table and haven't had any problems with it.But here are some things that are good to know if you plan to purchase the table:

1. When it comes to using sand, this table is NOT WATERTIGHT.The lid has a hole in it (for an umbrella --purchased separately --to be inserted).The hole will allow rainwater to seep into any sand you have inside.

2. Despite the product picture, this table DOES NOT SEAT 4 KIDS comfortably.

Stick to using it for 2 kids (one on each side).There is plenty of room for 2 kids to play.

3. The Step2 website (manufacturer of this table) shows a picture of kids playing at this table with 1/2 being filled with water and 1/2 being filled with sand.You can certainly do this since the table has 2 shallow basins, but we find it is much easier to stick with water OR sand.Otherwise, you better plan for the water and sand to be mixed together since that is what most toddlers will do.

4. The table is heavy duty, but is light enough for an adult to pick up.This makes for easy cleanup (i.e. tip it on it's side to empty it or pop open the drain plugs and let the water drain out.

Both of my boys, 1 and 2 years old, love this table. They have one at home and one at grandma and grandpa's. It's well built, easy to assemble and made in the USA.

my son loves to have his own table! it's great that it doubles as a track/water/sand table combo. it's also perfect when he has a friend or two over, they all sit around the table, have their snacks and play.

This table was a great solution and what I was looking for. However there are a few issues. If you expect to have four kids sitting on this thing (like in the picture) it is VERY tight. I would say this more comfortably fits two kids. Also? The top has ridges, so when feeding children at this table, their cups, if put down the wrong way, will tip over. It's also hard to play with Play Doh because of these ridges. The water table portion of the underside works well. It comes with two boats and a shovel. I was a little perplexed because it has bridges and ramps, but does not supply toy cars to fit these areas. (hot wheels type cars do fit) So far it has been easy to hose off and clean, and the plastic is wearing well being left outside in the desert heat, but under a patio cover.

A warning, this is NOT easy to assemble. It takes real time and strength. Bought it for Christmas in 2011 and made the mistake of putting it together Christmas Eve night. It was unusually difficult to put together, even with my husband's help. Seems like this should be easier to put together with two adults.

All in all? We use it. We enjoy it. I'm not entirely sure I would buy it had I to do it over again, I would get something a little larger.
