Playskool Clipo Basic Blocks Set

I saw these in the store and thought they looked interesting for my toddler.Easier than bristle blocks, bigger than legos my son happens to be a little behind in his motor skills so he doesn't stack things easily, and these blocks stayed on top of each other better than smooth blocks.He also likes to stack the flat shapes again, easier than regular blocks.

I've seen some bad reviews of these so thought I would put my 2 cents in, since I liked them.Maybe Playskool has the age a little high?Maybe they would be good for 9-24 months instead of 18 months and up?I can see little ones liking the nubs for chewing.The pieces aren't flexible or soft, but they don't have any hard corners, either.

Colors are bright, and I like that each shape has its own color... what I don't like is that I don't think I've seen a bigger set that includes blocks.This is the only one with cube-shaped blocks.The others all seem focused on vehicles and people.Also, I couldn't find them in my store recently when I went to buy more, so if the product dies out quickly, those of us with just a few pieces might be out of luck.

We received this as a gift for our three year old who has been using Megablocks, Duplo blocks, and Bristle blocks for over a year. All of those products are better than the Clipo. The Clipo pieces are difficult to put together correctly and don't stay put together except when stackedside-to-side. Bristle blocks are much easier to use and provide a broader range of options, even for older kids.

We bought these along with the Farm set and Clipo Basic Blocks table for our daughters this Christmas. They love it, teaches good hand-eye coordination and also teaches them patience. The only reason i gave it 4 starts instead of 5 is because some times the pieces can be very hard to get to stay together. Other then that, its great.

I was excited when these cute blocks came out.I loved bristle blocks as a kid, and these seemed similar but brighter and more durable.I was disappointed to see that cute is really all they are since they barely stick together.Anything you try to make with them falls apart.This frustrates my toddler to know end.

These are bright and durable, visually appealing to a young toddler, but IMO the age recommendation at 18m+ is too young. The pieces have to be rotated and lined up correctly to fit together, and are also quite hard to push together. If you don't push them all the way in with each other they fall apart easily. All this together is probably beyond many 18 monthers' abilities and could be very frustrating for a child it certainly was for mine. I ended up putting them away for later and replacing them with Krinklies, which are not quite so aesthetically pleasing but are physically much easier to deal with.
