I use to purchase cardboard checker games for my classroom, but found I had to replace them year after year.We've had this set for the past two years, and it looks almost new.My students gravitate to this game and have tournaments at lunch time.Truly a high quality checker set that would make a nice gift as well

After seeing lots of "junk" checkers games in the local stores I was very pleased to find this quality board.I love that the pieces store on the sides in little slots.

The board could also be used for chess if you purchased chess pieces.With this quality, the board can be passed down for a generation or two.I plan to contact the maker to see if additional pieces are available in case we do lose some.

This was a great deal.Nice heavy wooden board with checkers large eonough to actually use and feel comfortable with.Painted board may be a drawback after extended use, and checkers do not fit well together for kings, but other than that, I expext to get many years worth of playing out of this product.

A very excited eight-year-old opened this game and wanted to play it right away! I was looking for a durable alternative to the folding cardboard games as I knew that we would be playing this game for years.

Unfortunately, this item is NOT as well-made as it appears to be. The paint is sloppily applied, there is a ding on the board, and the checkers are small and do not stack. Although they say that they are grooved, which led me to think they *would* stack, they are only grooved on one side,which causes them to slide. They also vary in size. It is not a good game for little fingers.

My options are to either touch up the paint and order different checkers or return it. I sense a return in our future.
