Atomic 2 in 1 Flip Table

After going through endless reviews to find the right table for my basement, I'm convinced that this was a great choice.Air hockey was the big draw, but I also wanted a casual pool table that would be decent quality and not just a throw-away extra.Both have satisfied my expectations and we've had a lot of fun after only having this table for a month.The details are below for those who want them.

Build quality actually seems pretty good for the price.All of the main pieces are thick particle board with a black veneer.Everything was pre-drilled and most (though not all) of the holes lined up perfectly.The instructions were also very good.Like a previous reviewer stated, most of the connectors are bolts, but I was able to find a socket that would fit the nuts from my socket-wrench set (I forget the size, but it was metric rather than English).I did need to use an extender to get to many connections.That being said, the included wrench actually worked pretty well by itself, so well that my 6 year-old daughter was able to tighten many of the nuts without aid.When the table turns, it turns very easily with corner locks that clamp strongly.My only complaint is that there is a lot of friction when locking the table in place.I've already scraped some of the veneer off of one of the corner locks with only a few turns of the table.

The air hockey plays really well.Air flow is pretty strong, and the puck hovers nicely over the table, moving really fast when hit.We've had some problems with puck stability (especially when I hit it), so beware of placing any fragile objects in the vicinity.I was surprised that the table came with four mallets and four pucks, so four people can play at a time.Also, in contrast to the Amazon description, the table does not have electronic scoring.That was actually something that I was look for, but to tell the truth, the sliding score keepers on each side of the table are pretty good and provide an opportunity for some good smack-talking and score flaunting.To play the table, you will likely need an extension cord to get it working, but only a cheap two pronged one.

The pool table is just OK.There is a lot of friction on the felt, so the balls don't tend to drift too far, usually only getting one wall bounce off a good break.The pockets are just wood cavities in the table, so I do wonder if they will eventually cause the air hockey table underneath to warp in spots, but I doubt that there will be enough force to really cause a problem.I didn't have any drift or pocket sink problems that another reviewer has noted.The table comes with everything you need, including two playable cues, a good set of balls, triangle rack, and two chalks.I would have liked to have a cue rack mounted on the table, though.

Now, for the hard details.This thing is really, I mean really, heavy.That caused problems from delivery through build for us.First, when delivered by ABF (from Amazon), it was just delivered by one guy with a hand truck.Do not expect it to get anywhere near where you want it.Mine was delivered to my driveway on a crate with a knowing grin from the guy that I was up a creek.There is no way to reasonably lift the box, no matter how many people you have, if you want to get it through any normal door or down a stairway.When I opened the box, everything was packed fairly well, and we were able to move most of the pieces down to the basement without too much problem.The air hockey table was fairly easy to move with two people, but the pool table was a whole other story.Two very strong people probably could have lifted it, but I mean football strong.I was fortunate to have four people around who were willing to lift and move the table on level ground and up a few steps, but we slid it down the basement stairs rather than hold it.

After building it, you then have to turn the thing over.I would have loved some guidance in how to do that without breaking the legs.I kind of feel like we were lucky to get it turned over without any problems, but maybe the legs are really strong enough.I did put some pillows under them to try and distribute the weight a bit.

Once upright, the table moves pretty easily with two people.

The 2-in-one table is a blast for the kids and us adults. :)I had to deal with the seller on this purchase and they were a joy to work with. What can I say? It arrives ready to put together, comes together with ease, and is the center piece of my basement; everyone who sees it wants one.

Overall, this is a nice table.The air hockey works well.The pool table is nice enough for a combination flip table. A note regarding the Amazon product description this table does NOT HAVE ELECTRONIC HOCKEY SCORING.Amazon says it does.Assembly was easy but tedious.While the parts lined up nicely and are accurately predrilled, you can't use a socket wrench (or any wrench) on the bolts since the chinese bolt heads do not conform to any particular socket/wrench size, metric or SAE.I resorted to adjustable wrench and vise grips as necessary.

Depending on your needs this could be an OK item to purchase, and I'll try to explain in more detail below.I got a good deal on it through another website so I feel like I got a very good price.The item arrived via freight and the truck driver took it via pallet jack into my garage.From there, I brought it down to my basement piece by piece, since the box weighs somewhere in the vicinity of 350 lbs.The hockey table and pool table are separate pieces.My wife and I were able to carry the hockey piece down but I needed another strong friend to help with the pool table piece, as it must weight close to 200 lbs.Once I got everything down, the overall assembly took me about 4-5 hours mostly by myself.The design is pretty good and the particle board is pretty strong.However, some of the veneer started peeling off immediately like it wasn't glued correctly in the first place.I expect more to come off over time.The holes matched up pretty well for drilling of screws and bolts but the lines of the table don't look perfect when it's all put together.Probably just something I'll notice and no one else.The table is very sturdy and rotating between air hockey and pool is very easy and smooth.

HOCKEY TABLE One of the first things I noticed was the hockey table seems to bow down in the middle a little, but it doesn't affect play.One part of the end rail on one side is pretty dead, but again it doesn't affect play very much.Also, one of the goal openings has a lip which prevents the puck from going in at times.That is very irritating and I'll have to sand it down.Otherwise, the puck moves well and the length of the table is good.I would say the air hockey, despites some issues, is pretty good.Just wish it was about 4" wider for pool.

POOL TABLE Here's where the real disappointment lies.If you are looking to play a meaningful game of pool forget it.The length is ok but it needs several more inches of width.The rails are very dead, you get one bounce off and that's about it.Worst of all, mine has drift toward the pockets on each side (not a leveling issue).Therefore, if you strike the cue ball at lower speeds it will veer off a little, especially when it's within 10 inches of the rails.For kids who haven't played much pool it's probably fine.

Overall it depends on your expectations.If you're looking for something to keep the kids occupied for under $800 it's probably worth it, since you'd have to pay $1500 for a good pool table.If I had it to do over again, I would spend $500 on a good air hockey table and get a ping pong top.I suppose whenever you buy a combo table you sacrifice quality for flexibility.So far, my kids have enjoyed it.

Renting rooms in my house the last six months has helped me tell what amenities make the most difference in keeping my roommates (i.e. my customers) happy. This table, with the right accessories, has been huge. When I moved I talked to a salesman at a pool hall that deals in Olhausen tables and he said people have trouble getting rid of cheap tables like these. How cheap is it? I saw an air hockey table at a thrift store, nothing special, for $500 and they don't deliver. Speaking of which, this thing weights about 450lbs in the (single) box they deliver it in! And while most shippers will put an item like this in your garage if your driveway is short and level, they have the right per their shipping contract to literally leave it at the base of your driveway and, well, drive away. It's so annoying when people give negative reviews based on the 'facts of life' with freight shipping.

After four months or so of fairly extensive use it looks like some of the black vinyl/plastic covering over the particle board will have to be glued down eventually. The table comes with levelers and even though mine is in a garage that slopes toward the street slightly with some small squares of plywood and a carpenters level it's now exactly level, which is a big deal for billiards. You'll want to replace the billiard cues, or at least have some better ones available for serious games, and also triangle pucks are a lot of fun to play with. Maybe a nine-ball rack, a set of swirl balls, and Aramith makes a fluorescent tubing/balls set for billiards where I had enough tubing left over to accent the rails on the air hockey side.

Art Desk and Chair Set

I reported to the manufacturer/berman industries upon checking the product and they say they will change the product, I told them that I will return the item to amazon but they said no need, and that I can throw the whole thing or give to somebody who wants it, since they will replace everything. But when the delivery comes after a week, they only replace the paper cutter!!

Desk is well made. It took me about 20 min. to put it together. I bought this for my granddaughter and she uses it every day.

It seems durable and was easy to put together after I threw away their bootleg allen wrench and got a good one. I would have NEVER been able to put the thing together without a quality tool, that piece of crap the sent totally derailed the process.However now that it is together the desk seems very sturdy and good.Adults are sitting on her little chair all the time and it is feeling very stable.Pay attention to the placement of the paper roll to avoid haveing to shuffle the legs around multiple times when putting it together.They should number the legs or something I guess you can note the colors and which way they need to face to hold the roll.

Stiga Fusion Table Tennis Conversion Top

This table was not as advertised.The "padding" on the underside was just some lick-and-stick small foam fingers that would not hold up.There were several screws missing from the supports which could not be replaced into the particle board.The stiffeners were very flimsy.The whole table seemed like it would not last at all.We returned it unused.Note to Amazon: you should stop offering this product.

This product is MDF and comes in two pieces. One person can put it on and off, though it's a little awkward because of it's size). It ships face on face with a thin strip (1/64") of foam around the edges so when you get it it will be marred and chipped (the two face pieces are basically rubbed against themselves all the way to your house. Where the two pieces join in the middle (after you place them on your table is unfinished. I'm not sure why. I have a $12,000 billiard table and I WOULD NOT put this on my table without first putting a blanket on the billiard table. You are just asking for your table to be scratched. I sent mine back.

Franklin Sports Future Champs Youth Football Goal Post Set No. 14266

I bought this for my teenage son and his friends who are always playing "street football" in the neighorhood yards etc. For the price, it is very durable ( they use theeir own real football though instead of the mini one it comes with) and it has several flag markers for added effects. The goal post can be set at two heights and they have put it up and taken it down many times now and its held up to the "big kid" abuse just fine. lol Great fun for all ages.

My 7 year old LOVED this gift.He is the biggest football fan ever and loves the challenge of kicking the football through the uprights. It's the biggest goal post around I could find so that part is great. I just wish it was better made.The plastic started to crack right were it clips together on the post (a month after we got it).If they had made it of a more solid plastic (the plastic is pretty thin) it would have lasted a lot longer.We taped it up and so far it's holding together, but for how long who knows.

I bought this item as a self-birthday present, and it arrived on the day of my birthday! Well, when I put it together in the house, it was some trouble connecting the joints, but otherwise it was HUGE! It comes with a lever in which you can raise and put the posts higher or lower.

A few days later when I play with it-the ball contained was very small. Therefore I went out and bought a new ball WITH a kicking tee (it wasn't in the box when it said it was) and when I kicked it, it hit it and it cracked! EDIT: I just played with is yesterday... and it completely broke.

This is small and cheap, but my 7-year-old LOVES it!

The goal post is thin plastic (you could build a much stronger one yourself using PVC pipe). At it's tallest setting, it's 4-feet wide by 6-feet high (to the top of the uprights), with a 49 inch high crossbar. It has a 12.5-inch diameter circular stand that you fill with water, which is sufficient to keep the goal-post self-standing, but it will fall if hit hard by a football.

The mini-football is very mini. Ours measured 6.5 inches long but it wouldn't fully inflate, probably because of a leak, but my 7-year-old likes it being soft.

The included football tee is worthless. It's too wide to hold the included ball, and too lightweight to hold a larger ball without toppling over.

The yard-line markers are 3-inches wide and 4-inches high (before sticking into the ground), and there's only 3 of them (50 yd, 40 yd, 30 yd) as is correctly stated on the box, but is incorrectly stated in Amazon's Product Description.

In summary, I was disappointed with the quality and size, but my 7-year-old LOVES it!

Face-Off Frenzy Power Band Hockey

I bought this for my 7 year old son who loves air hockey.I had some reservations about playing directly on floor and carpet.Will the puck slide?Will it bounce off the sides of the ring?Is the area large enough for play?My questions were answered pretty quickly.

ASSEMBLY

Assembly was quick and easy.Instructions were clear and easy to follow.I thought maybe the band would be very tight and difficult to pull on, but that was not the case.

PLAY AREA

It's a playable size 39"x49" which can be adjusted shorter for younger players.I was afraid it would be too small.It's certainly smaller than a regular size air hockey table, but it's still a good size.

It can be taken apart, but I wouldn't want to do that every time the kids take it out to play.It's more something I'd leave out, stow on its side or under the bed.It's too inconvenient to constantly assemble and disassemble.

ON TILE AND CARPET

The puck has two sides, one for hard surfaces and one for carpet.The mallet has an insert that can be flipped for play on either surface.

We tried it out on tile and it slides nicely for play.Occasionally, my son would hit the puck a certain way and it would flip or fly, but I didn't have that problem.The puck did slide under the frame on a couple of occasions, but I think that was a matter of the floor not being completely flush.It was not a problem most of the time.The puck had enough bounce off the ring for the hockey puck to fly around.

I slid the puck and mallet on carpet and they slide smoothly there.It would play nicely there.

Pros:

+can be played on hard surface or carpet

+no batteries required

Cons:

-inconvenient to assemble and disassemble frequently

I gave this to my son for his 7th birthday. It was easy to put together. The size is perfect and can store under the bed. The best part is it works great on carpet and ceramic tile floor. My dining room table is old so we prefer to play it on the table so that we can stand up. I love the fact that it requires no batteries or electricity. It is also very quiet. We had a party for his friends last Saturday and the all of the kids all enjoyed playing it.

My son loves air hockey, but I was leery of spending any significant amount of money on a unit that might be too small or of mediocre quality.Face of Frenzy came to the rescue.We have a 36x48 table that this barely fits on, but this allows us to play it off the floor.

No, the pucks don't glide the same as an actual air hockey table you need to give it just a bit more "oomph" and the puck can occasionally escape under the bands on the long sides of the rink, but these are not issues and just require an adjustment of style and strategy.Games are fast and fun, and the fact that it doesn't have to plug in and is light enough to move easily are huge bonuses.

Also, the quality of the rink, pucks and paddles seems plenty sturdy.I'm sure we'll be enjoying this for years.

UPDATE December 2011:So this thing has held up ok, but ultimately it hasn't held my son's interest.It can be fun, but it's also a bit limited, and uncomfortable to play on the floor if you don't have a table it will fit on.So, it's a good concept, but YMMV as far as how much your kids like it.

We have children ages 2-7 and the whole family has really enjoyed this hockey game.It works well on our carpet even though it is not a low-pile or berber style, which we were worried about at first.It is lightweight and easy for the kids to move around.We wish the puck would bounce off the side elastics better.Sometimes it just goes right through it and out the side of the game.Tightening the elastic straps helped, but the puck still doesn't stay in all the time.My husband put it together and thought they should have sent extra bands for assembly, but in another review we had already read it said that regular rubberbands work fine if one of the originals breaks.Overall we're very pleased with this toy and think it's a fun, small-space alternative to a real air hockey table.

The puck slides great on our carpet or hardwood floor and bounces well off the side wall.Most important, unlike Nok-hockey, it's very quiet so the kids can play in the morning while mom and dad can rest.Assembly requires a little bit of effort as the pieces are a bit tight.Therefore, taking it apart for storage isn't a simple process and storage under a bed is the best bet.

Dinosaur Train Time Tunnel Mountain Set

This toy is poorly designed.The tracks constantly come apart, frustrating children who want to play with it.Even the smallest nudge from an excited child will break the tracks apart.

That said, my kids love this thing.I have found that by putting it up on a table the track stays in tact much longer.On a side note, it fits perfectly on the tabletop of a Step2 train table.My kids love love that this toy plays little bits of the Dinosaur Train theme song.Despite all of its annoying problems this toy has entertained my kids for long stretches of time.

Had I paid $50 for this toy I would have been outraged with its quality.Since I picked it up on clearance at a local store for $13 I feel like the toy is a decent value.

It really is a shame that more thought and care wasn't put into the construction of these Dinosaur Train toys.Many, many kids love that show and if the toys were made with better attention to quality their sales would probably triple.

This is the first time I have ever written a review but I could not resist because this toy is awful! As soon as I took it out of the box a lone tiny screw fell out, original location of this screw is unknown. The engine car needs batteries but I couldn't screw the battery cover shut, DANGEROUS! The tracks will NOT stay together and the legs of the mountains constantly pop off. I have had this toy for less than 24 hours and it is going back TODAY! Please do not take the chance with this product as it is such a disappointment to my son.

OK, so I had the same problems many reviewers mentioned. The track would come apart during play and my 2 1/2 year old would ask me to fix it. I noticed that it would primarily come apart at the risers. And while the risers have little raised pegs for the track to clip on to, the track would nevertheless often disconnect there. I added a little super glue to those areas and PROBLEM SOLVED! The tracks remain nicely attached to the risers and seldom come apart where the track lies flat. That issue aside, we're running some Thomas trains on this set in addition to the dinosaur train and my little guy is having lots of fun! Would recommended with SUPER GLUE added :).

+After reading everyone elses reviews and my daughter loving Dinosaur Train, I decided not to get this set, but my parents turned up with it for my daughters birthday. Original price on the box was $119AUS but we got it on sale for $59AUS.

Firstly trying to set it up, the parts underneath the mountain had to be forced to click in, other than that it was ok to set up.

Like everyone else has commented the tracks CONSTANTLY come apart and the train just rides off the track most of the time when it comes down the hill, then on the straight part...it is absolutely annoying!

I think just before the train goes through the tunnel a red switch on the track is supposed to activate something but it doesnt work.

We have got heaps of the small figures and extra carriages and if you put an extra carriage on with figures in it, it struggles to get up the hill.

If it was worth $30 then you get what you pay for but $59AUS is too steep & if my parents had of paid $119AUS I would be taking it back.

I purchased this for my three year old granddaughter to take on a beach vacation.She played for hours with this set.She made "cupcakes" for everyone decorated with shells, seaweed, little sticks and stones and served them on large seashells.I agree with another reviewer that the icing tool has little use as it is flat, but my granddaughter used it as a little knife to cut our cupcakes. The pieces are sturdy and colorful.We even used the molds to make little houses when we made a sand village. This was well worth the money!

My son received this as a third birthday gift.He has played with it in our backyard sandbox.It is a cute product, but a bit too advanced for him.I think that this would be most effective as a beach toy or perhaps with a water table -somewhere where you have access to wet sand, which sets the cupcakes in the molds better.Overall, very cute, but not good if you only have "dry" sandbox sand.

Thomas & Friends Wooden Railway - Knapford Covered Bridge

I've noticed my son's favorite Thomas pieces are the bridges.He plays with this bridge more than any of the others.He's still young so the up and down of the bridge is perfect for his age.We did have a problem with the bridge not staying on the risers, but we easily fixed it.We used superglue to glue the bridge to the risers.We didn't glue the ascending pieces so that we could change the layout if we wanted.Just position the risers in the middle of the connecting pieces of track and superglue.That way the track stays connected to the bridge.

I hear what the first reviewer is saying about the covered bridge falling from the supports easily, however my son absolutely loves this bridge and plays with it constantly. He loves how the trains pass through the bridge, but you can still see them through the windows. If we get tired of setting it up on the supports over and over, we just set it up so it sits flat on the table and it's still alot of fun for him. I'm recommending this covered bridge because it's a simple, fun piece for your collection. No bells and whistles, just imagination, make this toy fun.

This is a well made tunnel.It can be used with the risers and supports to be a covered bridge or put flat on the table to be used and a tunnel.The graphics are greaat, which is typical for this brand.The riser tracks and supports fit well together and is pretty stable.I have not had problems that soem other described.Howevr I do use those suretrack clips at the bottom of the risers which give it more stability.

My only gripe is the price.With no moving parts I'm not sure how this tunnel can retail at $25 which is the same for the water tower and just a bit cheaper than the mine tunnel.Of course it can be had for cheaper here, but still a bit pricey for a simple tunnel.

Nice addition to the track.2 year old son likes looking through windows, cramming as many trains as possible through.Gets frustrated when it comes off, but I think if you play with your kid a bit you can show them how to "repair" the bridge & rails.If you're not into that, there's always wood glue.For the moment I'm leaving it.Good bang for buck, as these thomas items get pricey.

This toy works great as a tunnel at first. If your child is prone to bump the train setup as they play, knocking down risers and tracks, you can (as others suggested) just use it flat on the table.

My son loves any tunnel or bridge, and this one has windows he can watch the train go through.I'm using it flat right now, as he is still young and clumsy with layouts.I plan to use it as a covered bridge if I fasten down some track to a table or when he gets older and doesn't bump the track so much.

At first, he didn't understand the track was attached, and tried to lift the bridge up to look underneath.Once he figured out the track was attached, he left it on the layout.It also makes a great portable tunnel.When we free play on the carpet, he takes the tunnel and an engine, and plays with them on the couch... pushing the engine through the tunnel.

A good addition to our growing Thomas collection.Durable and nicely made, should last many years.

This was a great deal.Nice heavy wooden board with checkers large eonough to actually use and feel comfortable with.Painted board may be a drawback after extended use, and checkers do not fit well together for kings, but other than that, I expext to get many years worth of playing out of this product.

A very excited eight-year-old opened this game and wanted to play it right away! I was looking for a durable alternative to the folding cardboard games as I knew that we would be playing this game for years.

Unfortunately, this item is NOT as well-made as it appears to be. The paint is sloppily applied, there is a ding on the board, and the checkers are small and do not stack. Although they say that they are grooved, which led me to think they *would* stack, they are only grooved on one side,which causes them to slide. They also vary in size. It is not a good game for little fingers.

My options are to either touch up the paint and order different checkers or return it. I sense a return in our future.

Russ Berrie Yomiko Collie 12"

My best friend has a Russ Berrie Yomiko Collie.She loves to play with it.Why?Well it is very soft and its eyes are speachless.I have one to but I put in the dryer and its hair curled up like a poodle!I still love her though she's my best friend just like my other bff's collie.

My son loves this thing so much it is scary."Shirley" is almost one year old now and though the seams have held up well....her fur is simply hidious after one year of constant love.There is no way to wash the long fur and no way to repair the damage done by the kind of affection a 4 year old can dish out.The eyes are well made and have a loving gaze that has captured my sons heart.I am considering getting another toy from this manufacturer...but not another "Shirley".Don't buy long hair toys for small kids...it is to heartbreaking to watch them deteriorate.There is no way to clean the poor thing off.Over all this toy is simply priceless in the love my son has lavished on it.

I am a huge animal fan. I love collecting stuffed animals. I love anything cute and furry. I love dogs, cats, wolves, all animals. That being said, I don't know what I was expecting, but this collie is...different. It's not at all what I was expecting. It looks kind of....scrawny... It doesn't look at all like I was expecting even though it is "like new". It's kind of scrawny and looks nothing like any of the pictures. It's kind of a disappointment and let down. Not that I don't love it. I love it, but there is still that disappointment when I look at it. How ever, it does look like a collie. It looks very much like a collie, if the collie is scrawny and in need of a brushing! Perhaps I am just being a bit too critical, but I do love this toy, just it doesn't really look like the pictures at all. It certainly lacks the fluffiness shown in the pictures.

OfficeMax Leslie Desk, White OMO3737

My daughter loves this desk and it looks great in her room.That being said, the main tool you use to put this together is glue. My husband was horrified when he opened the box.She is not rough with her things and if she uses it as a desk and it doesn't get moved around in her room it should last a few years.It looks good and the price was right I just do not have high hopes for durability.

We bought this desk for our almost 6 year old daughter to have in her room, the desk seems great and has lot's of nice storage.

We also bought the Kidkraft Avalon chair that was recommended with this desk and it's way to small for this desk. We will be shopping around for another chair so she can use the desk.

We hope to get many good years with this desk.

Hallmark Minnie's 1st Birthday Cupcake Holder

I ready all the reviews before I bought this stand and decided to take a chance. As a cake decorator I was a tad bit concerned about the fact that the stand is made of card board, but I figured, well... take a chance. She's only 1 once. When I got it, I out it together and was very surprised at how sturdy it is!!Then I was a bit disappointed at the size, thought it seemed a bit small and there was no was I was going to get more than 12 cupcakes on this thing. But thought, well I'll just put the rest on a platter on the table or some thing.

Her party was today, 36 cupcakes. all but 10 of them fit well on the stand and the stand held up very well!! I was extremely pleased!! I would be very willing to purchase another stand with a different theme for the next party

My best friend had a baby minnie theme for her daughters birthday, so I ordered these for the cupcakes I made. They were perfect! Fit about 24 cupcakes on each stand. Very sturdy and super cute.
