Although I prefer playing against a human opponent, the Newgy 2050 Table Tennis Robot is a great way to keep your table tennis skills sharp.Setup and teardown is incredibly quick and easy.I especially like the straightforward programming capability and the wide variety of shot options.Highly recommended.

I don't believe you can find a robot on the market today that is as versatile as this one at the price. I would even say that the Robo Pong 2050 is superior to many other robots half to two times its price. It has a great set of 30 drills pre-programed into the robot but they can also be slowed or sped up to meet your need. This allows you to make a basic drill into an intermediate drill or slow down a hard drill as needed. I've used mine several times a week for over two years and I am always finding ways to readjust and make drills that will best improve my game. Newgy also has wonderful customer service!

This baby works beautifully.I initially was frustrated because some balls weren't landing on the table, but... I decided to read the directions and found that you are supposed to adjust the velocity on some practice modes.My wife won't play with me, my kids are good enough... Thanks Newgy for filling in a gap in my household.

The Newgy 2050 is everything that I wanted in a table tennis robot.I wanted a budgeted machine that is able to have enough functions to keep me interested, increase my level of play, easy to store and quick to set up.I took a look at all kinds of low end machines such as the iPong and the lower models of the Newgy.The main things that lack in the other ones isthe recycling ball net and customized functions .The recycling ball net was overlooked by me from the beginning.Once you get good enough then you don't have to waste time picking up 100 ping pong balls off the floor or if you by your own net then you don't have to waste time to place the ball back into the bucket while awkwardly reaching over the table to do so.Also the other lower models don't allow you to change type of oscillation so it is predictable in which direct the balls will be firing at.Some website mention that you level of play doesn't increase much, this is false in my opinion.It is hard enough to find someone to play with already in my case.So I practice looping and smashing by myself and can adjust my technique accordingly.Having a machine that has precise ball firing allows you to methodically adjust carefully to become better.Also, it is relatively easy to sell if I ever get bored of it because it is highly sought after.I have had about 6 weeks worth of playing time and really glad I got it.

Like:

-Ball recycling net

-customizable controls

-easy to store and put away

-works great

-mine came with ping pong ball pick uper (20 bucks worth); I don't use it though

Dislike:

-it resets all the functions once you unplug it (down side, but only minor)

-the four rackets it comes with are only good for swatting flies

Who would I recommend it to:

-Beginners/intermediate table tennis players or someone that spontaneously want to play and don't want to wait
