Ironman Fairfield Massage Table

Ironman Fairfield Massage TableQuite a few years ago, I had my own, small, professional massage practice. At that time, I had a beautiful EarthLite table that was built like a tank. It had belonged to my mother in her massage practice for years before I got it, so it saw, literally, hundreds of clients over its lifetime. And if you are a professional massage therapist, looking to see hundreds of clients, then perhaps you should resign yourself the $300-$500 purchase of an EarthLite, because the Ironman Fairfield is not a leave-it-in-your-will-for-your-children kind of table. It is, indeed, a $100 massage table, which, as it turns out, was exactly what I was looking to purchase. The vinyl is thin and not terribly durable--so this table would not be ideal for a traveling practice where you might have to toss the table up in Joe Schmoe's garage. Also, the face cradle does not fit snugly into the end of the table: one spoke always slips out about a centimeter, which leads me to believe that the holes in the table are not parallel. That being said, I'm no longer practicing, and I purchased this table as a [Winter Holiday] present for my husband who works long hours at his often high-stress job and was recently diagnosed with scoliosis. And for a non-practicing massage therapist who wants a table that is easy to put up and take down a couple times a week, doesn't need to travel any farther than from the hall closet to the living room, and isn't going to make a significant dent in her bank account, this table does just fine. More than that, this honest-cup-of-tea, affordable massage table has facilitated the reintroduction into my life of performing real massages--which is such a wonderful, profound gift to offer someone, especially someone you care for--and that, for me and certainly my husband, is well worth a tear in the vinyl, a wobbly face cradle, and $100.

Would have given this 5 stars but the handle on the head rest broke the second time it was used. The table was bought as a present and I am trying to find out how I can get a replacement head rest.

This is a decent table that you can setup quickly and easily, and folds away for easy storage, such as under a bed.I use this table to practice physical therapy on as a student. The 2" of padding (less than 3-5" you get on others) gives it a slightly firmer yet comfortable surface.Somewhat heavish to lug around any real distance, more than 50 ft. or so.Seems sturdy enough for the 200 lb or so people I've had on it.

Pretty good table for the price. No complaints.

A solid table for certain, the headrest did break after about a month of moderate use. I did research on a couple different sites and this seems to be a fairly common problem. As noted in another review the instructions say not to apply too much force to the head rest area, this should indicate to the consumer that the manufacturer knew that this was a weakness in the design.

This is a very good buy. This table can be used by most people who are not obese. The larger the person, the lower the table should be. For the money spent, this was a real good deal for a functional table to be used every day.
