Mini Lalaloopsy Playset - Tea Set

Mini Lalaloopsy Playset - Tea SetWe have this tea time playset, the ferris wheel and Pillow's sleep over set. This one is probably our favorite, yet it is the most frustrating of them all.

Pros...

~Crumbs Sugar Cookie is in a fancy yellow dress and black mary janes~ different from the original Crumbs mini. Her mouse wears a bow.

~The creativity it took to design the furniture is sweet... literally. The chairs look like cookies, the table is made of a spool and a cookie.

~The accessories~ a b/w striped teapot, 2 teacups & saucers and a cookie jar~ are some of my girls' favorite pieces to play with, whether it's with the mini Lalas or the little My Little Ponies.

~We've had this set for over a year, and it still gets lots of play time.

Cons... these are structure related...

~The chairs are very frustrating because the dolls don't sit in the chairs easily. If at all.My 3 year old gets so upset with this.My 6 year old just doesn't bother trying to seat the dolls, but seats their pets.

~The chairs come apart. The backs snap off (which is somewhat a pro because THEN the dolls can sit, sort of).The legs all pop off.If the legs do come off once, then they will a million times.

~The accessories are teeny tiny. While cute for kids who do not put every single thing in their mouths, the small accessories are a major attraction and choking hazard for little ones.My 6 and 3 year olds can't play with this set (or any mini Lala, for that matter) in rooms their 15 month old sister can roam in.

Yes, I would recommend this to anyone willing to glue the furniture together, and to anyone without babies around:)

I bought this for my niece for her birthday and she plays with it constantly!!Holds up well and was a good price!!

My daughters ages 8 and 9 love these. They are so cute. They love rag dolls because they are so floppy and these dolls are just the same but plastic! Their legs swing freely, heads bobble, and their arms can be twisted. Just very cute. Seem very well made and durable. They were their favorite toy this Christmas!

This is a very cute little set. There are a few downsides I see, but they don't affect the use so much that I would "take them all back."

Firstly, all the pieces will not fit on the table at once. The table is barely big enough for the two teacups and saucers and the teapot. You can't fit the cookie jar, or if you put the cookie jar on the table, the teapot won't fit. That's why the doll is holding it in her hand in the product photo. Not the best design but not a deal breaker.

The other thing that I don't like, is that each chair is SIX PIECES. You all know that while these tiny toys are adorable, the less pieces the better. Especially when if a chair comes apart, and you lose one leg, the chair is pretty much useless. So why make each leg, the chair seat, and the chair back, all pieces that detach from each other, easily. They don't necessarily "fall apart" and they are sturdily made, but the backs came off the chairs when taking them out of the packaging, and my daughter had all the legs off the chairs about 5 minutes after I gave them to her (she's almost 4)I tested, and the table also comes apart in three pieces, but she hasn't figured that out yet :) So overall, what looks like 3 pieces is actually FIFTEEN pieces.

I am not worried about her with little pieces, but she does have a younger sibling in the picture, and the fact that she can take the legs off just increases the chance that she could lose a piece and the littler one could find it and choke. Just my thoughts. Not necessarily a deal breaker, but something that surprised me. I never tried to sit the doll in the seat before. My daughter never complained about it... But I wanted to test it out myself, and yes, it is IMPOSSIBLE for the doll to sit in the chair. Her legs are attached to her body and swing around freely under the dress much like the gong of a bell. My daughter has not complained however. I also know that not ALL of these mini dolls are like this, because we also have the Pillow Featherbed mini doll and her legs are "normal" and poseable, rotating at the thigh.

Overall, we purchased this at a retail store for an affordable price, and it's a great little quiet toy that really holds the attention of someone who is also into things like Polly Pockets and Littlest Pet Shop. Great toy for playing up on the table or taking to church or the doctor office. Doesn't take up much space, could fit in mom's purse or child's backpack, is lightweight and has no noises or lights that would annoy anyone. It keeps her pleasantly occupied. I would recommend, if solely based on her happiness :)
