American Plastic Toys Creativity Desk and Easel

I received this Desk and Easel from my rewards program at work.I should have known this wasn't going to be a quality product from the start.The company sent the wrong assembly instructions.Thankfully, I was able to get them from the company's website.The overall construction is cheap.It is not very stable and the plastic is not very thick.Also the light that came with ours did not work.Had I actual paid the $90 places are charging for this.I would have returned it.I will not purchasing anything that is made by American Plastic Toys again.I wish I could have given this product 0 star.

My wife and I got this for our 2 year old daughter and we were both really excited. We decided to put it together tonight and once it was all assembled we immediately wanted to return it. I wouldn't be surprised if it gets recalled for the chair alone. The chair is extremely flimsy and there's no way we'd let our child sit in it. Not that the rest of the thing is sturdy by any stretch. The desk is extremely flimsy. From the pictures it looks very solid and sturdy. I'm actually quite amazed by how bad it is. Some low points.

The clip for holding paper to the work surface doesn't hold down paper.

When pulling the drawer open, the desk will tip forward unless you hold it in place.

Maybe sticking some velcro to the bottom and placing it on carpet will help make it stay in place and not feel so cheap.

Atrocious chair. It's so beyond terrible, it may get this toy recalled.

My kids absolutely love these desks.. I bought two, one for my 5 yr old and one for my 3 yr old... I feel it gives them each thier own area to write, draw, or pretend to be grown ups.. My son whom is in his first yr of school, as a kindergartener who has home work 4 nights a week this desk is great for him to sit and concentrate on his homework with out other distractions... They use these desks EVERYDAY.. When T.V. time is over and it's quiet time the desk are the first thing they run too... Best present for the kids and a great peace of mind for the parents... Would suggest to everyone I know....

I bought this for my grandson, for this coming Christmas. I opened the box and the parts were just all tossed in there, no organization, no bagging of small parts. Some of the pieces clearly came right off the assembly line, with the excess molding still attached. But, I thought, okay, let's give it a chance... as I removed parts, I noticed they were particularly flimsy.Different parts seemed to have different thicknesses. The seat area seemed nice, but the bottom part sagged and twisted just holding it by one edge!

This might be an unfair review, because at this point, I came to Amazon (I bought it elsewhere, for less, actually) to see the reviews, and after seeing other comments which supported my initial observations, I am simply returning this product. I didn't bother assembling it a job which was daunting in itself. From my overview, every single part was separate and needed to be assembled. It comes with fifty screws... that ought to tell you something.

I think the design of the desk is wonderful a great concept! If they'd only followed through with a stronger quality manufacture, I bet my review would be five stars, instead of one. My kids had a different kiddie desk which they both used a lot, so I wanted one for my grandkids, knowing it would be a favorite item.

What a shame, because this is unsafe as it now is made.

this is a really great desk, but it takes a pretty long time and labor to get it together. the end result is really nice though. the light isnt really the greatest, but my daughter really loves it and plays with it for hours. it is a really great buy though, if you want to inspire you child to create art and focus their attention on their inner talent then i believe that they have a higher chance of succeeding! all in all great buy!
