Fisher-Price Role Play Center Kitchen Bin

Fisher-Price Role Play Center Kitchen BinWhen my 2.5 yr old son started play cooking, we knew we would have to buy some sort of kitchen for him. I was very reluctant to spend the money and honestly, sacrifice the space for one of those large, plastic kitchens. Having an 6 yr old daughter, we had been through the cooking phase and already bought and sold one kitchen. We knew that the novelty wore off and the lack of space was a pain.

I saw this set in Target, next to the large, wooden play kitchen that my son likes to pretend to wash his hands in each time we go there. It was hidden behind some other pink and purple items, next to frilly apron and dress up clothing.

No bigger than a large tackle box, it is compact and self contained. The top lifts off and becomes the stove with knobs that really do turn and make a nice clicking sound. There is a fold out window that is fitted into a slot behind the burners. There are 2 hooks on it for the spatula and spoon. It includes a frying pan, fried egg, bacon, cookie, spaghetti, pizza, 2 cups, 2 forks, 2 spoons, and 2 plates. It is the perfect size for a continual stream of pretend play without the loss of floor space.

It stores nicely on a shelf or under a table. The fact that it can expand with the purchase of the other boxes (diapering/baby station, doctor kit, workbench) and the shelf unit that stores them all, makes it possible for this to be a series of toys that will keep my son busy for an entire year. I am impressed with this new line of toys and am considering getting the rest of Christmas with help of family.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

My mom gave this bin and the Baby Bin to my two year old daughter for Christmas. She adores this toy.She plays with it daily. It is easy for little hands to pick up and open. The top becomes the stove top. There are about five pieces of play food. There is also a bottle of play catchup. My two year old loves to feed mommy and ask if I want more catchup. She pretends to pour it for me and laughs. There is a place setting for two.The boy next door has a much larger kitchen, but I think my daughter has just as much fun with this much smaller and cheaper item. There is also extra room in the bin, so if you already had some play food you could easily fit in the bin.And since everything fits in one bin, pick up time is much easier.

Ordered this, the nursery & the workbench. These are great self contained & portable toys even without the table that can also be purchased.20 month old grandaughter beside herself over these, & can pick a pretend play "box" to go anywhere. The faux food is well done & the knobs for the burners click.Love all of them!

Our daughter (2.5 years) is happy with this toy. It's small but full-function for children games. All stuff stores in the box, the top of the box is a stove.

I'm completely satisfied with this purchase and recommend it to everybody.

My son has had this set for four months now and we're still cooking regularly. This is a great basic kitchen set with stove top, pan, spoon and spatula, plates, cups, utensils, and some play food. It's actually a little light on the food, so I would recommend also getting a play food set to supplement the kitchen. Everything is very durable and stores in its own bin. We did not get the optional "customizable play center," but just play with it on the floor or on a table. We also have the tool set which is equally fun and compact.
