after having this chess comp less than a month, I turned it on one day n the LCD display was only partially working.... the lights n brains of the thing still work fine, but there's missing bars n the LCD display n I haven't dropped it or got soda n it like that other guy.... : )*update*
the company sent me a new master and it works great!
this one I keep in a padded case and handle like a newborn, lol....
great product, just not made for bulls in china shops like me....
Computer is a very good Chess Computer outfit and will give all chess players much pleasure, no matter what grade of chess one plays, unless of
course you are a up there among the world class. The Mephisto Master of this purchase replaced a previous Mephisto Master which regretably went on the 'Blink' due to an accidental spillage of Coca Cola over the base board and key section...memo' .keep beverages and food a very good distance from your computer chess, anyway after that little digress of clumsiness, of the actual purchase I would most definately purchase only from a United Kingdom sales outlet. My replacement chess computer I chose to puchase from an outlet within the United States, because its advertising blurb on the net gave a few 'Iffy', as I thought at the time, advantageous cost advantages,
the biggest pitfall being an attractive large figure sized cost of the Mephisto Master Chess Computer, when working out the exchange rate of Dollar/Sterling appeared most attractive by some thirty pounds cheaper than
UK prices, anyway the upshot was that indeed the delivery was just a few days from giving the order, the import charge resulted in the overall purchase became greater than a purchase within the UK...AND upon opening and checking the goods as ordered, the Saitek power lead had a TWO pin power
plug as used in th USA (Not Pleaseing).
There it is 'As I See It'.....I should have known better seeing as in my working life I was a Purchasing Officer..maybe its 'Old Father Time' I am looking forward to my Eighty Sixth birthday in September..so you can see how I look to my Mephisto Master Chess Computer as the means to keeping the
'Grey Matter' functioning...Your Move!!!.
