Multiplication Practice Math Machine

I had a toy similar to this when I was a kid learning my times tables. It was laid out in this grid, and I pulled levers for each number to reveal the answer. I loved quizzing myself, and learned the multiplication tables very quickly.

Now that my kids are learning the times tables, I have searched far and wide for a toy that has all of the numbers, 1-9, laid out in this grid, knowing that the grid helps the student find patterns and see relationships that you miss when using flash cards or something similar. I've even searched websites to find a grid layout game online, and couldn't find it.

I found this toy, but hesitated because it didn't look like very high quality (there is another, similar toy on the market that got bad reviews because of its poor quality). I finally caved and ordered this toy, since I hadn't found anything else similar, and my daughter really needed some help seeing the big picture. When it arrived, I was surprised at how heavy it is. Though the numbers are only printed on stickers that are placed on the plastic (I wish the numbers were printed directly on the plastic), the toy itself seems fairly well-made. I'm still not sure how long the springs will last, as we just received the toy today. But I do have a better first impression than I expected.

Purchased for my 6 yr old who loves math and loves to push buttons.He has started to memorize the multiplication tables using this toy.Afraid he'll be better at math than me in no time.It's easy to read (the answers pop up in red text on the bottom side of the button when pressed), easy to use, great layout/format, quiet, requires no batteries, and is great for travel.The numbers on the buttons are on stickers (not etched or painted on), but I have not had a problem with that.

Kids seem to enjoy mechanical action of buttons...different from iPad.This tool most definitely aided my kids with their learning.We will probably also purchase the division version.

I just pulled this item up because I have the whole set that is now a good 5 years old. I have to tell you that as far as I can tell these tile boards are indestructable, incredibly durable, and extremely educational not to mention the fun that my daughter has had pushing to buttons.Anyway, I pulled the site up so that I could send the link to our local elementary school that my daughter attends.I bought all 4 (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) as a set while my daughter was in Kindergarten.I struck GOLD!!We still use the multiplication and especially the division one, she is now 12-years old.Excellent way to keep the kids SHARP.I have my daughter close her eyes, randomly touch upon one of the tiles, and then.....we see how sharp she is.My daughter has acute ADHD and these boards have been the ticket!!They are engaging versus sitting still and memorizing math facts.An absolutely awesome learning tool.
