Star Wars CMG Miniatures Game Rebels and Imperials Booster Pack

Star Wars CMG Miniatures Game Rebels and Imperials Booster PackIf you look at my reviews of other Star Wars products (especially Star Wars minis products), you'll see that I usually review them VERY favorably. The game itself is quite fun, and the minis usually look pretty cool. But, I am unable to write a favorable review for this item... Here's why.

There are 24 figures in this set, but every figure in the set is a reissue from a previous set.At first this may seem like a good idea to those who are hoping to get an important figure they missed from a previous set (and I have no trouble with this concept in and of itself). But there is a catch. There are six rare figures and five very rare figures in the set.Further, each case (NOT each booster, but each case of 12 boosters) only contains one very rare figure and two rare figures. So, 9 times out of 12 (or a full 3/4 of the time) you will be paying quite a bit of money for two previously released common or uncommon figures.

If you do the math, that means you would have to buy five cases (or 60 boosters) to stand even a chance of getting all of the figures in the set.And that's assuming you don't get any double very rare figures in the cases you buy.

Very disappointing odds if you ask me!

The figurines are of decent make and quality and they aren't 'knock-offs'. Two random figures included (stormie and a rodian hm for me) as described on the box. The only other review on this item gives it 1 star because he felt it would cost too much to RANDOMLY get a rare figure. Look, if you're trying for a rare figure don't buy a $8 2 pack--of course your odds for getting what you are looking for specifically are going to be terrible.

If you want two RANDOM figures you should not complain which two you get. That said, there is nothing wrong with this product.
