Stomple Board Game

I purchased this game this weekend while attending the Chicago Toy and Game Fair. We were able to speak to the inventor as well as play the game right on the spot. The minute we played we were instantly hooked. This game is simple to learn as well as play. The inventor was friendly and told us the different ways we can play the game and make it interesting even for younger kids. The game is definitely a must have for anyone who likes a good strategy game! Take my word for it... once you stomp your first marble... you won't be able to stop playing.

As both a teacher and a parent, I can't rave enough about this game!My kids can't resist the colorful marbles and especially the thrill of STOMPING out the other players.I love the critical thinking and strategizing that they have to unknowingly use to play (and win) the game.The design is simple and easy to use.My kids played this for the first time weeks ago and even surrounded by new holiday gifts couldn't stop talking about their new favorite game.Stomple is ridiculously addictive and fun!

A friend just introduced me to this game and I loved it so much I had to run out and get it.Unlike most games, it's so easy to learn and fun to play.Even my little brother and his friends have been able to pick up the game and enjoy it. I plan to buy a couple for friends for the holiday.

Bought this game brand new from Amazon.com and right after opening discovered a few issues:

1) Horrible chemical smell. I had to take it outside right away to air out, since no one in the room could stand the smell. By the way, the sticker on the game says something about formaldehydrate levels that were checked. Hmmm... why do we need any amount of a cancer-causing chemical in the children's game?

2) Missing and broken items. Some beads are missing and one stompler is broken.

3) The manufacturing company does not stand behind their product and the customer service representatives are not professional. I emailed the company's website to ask if they would be able to replace the items or should I return the whole game. The customer service representative told me to call them. I called them and for some reason they wanted to know bunch of my personal information before even talking to me. Then the customer service representative was trying to tell me that I got counterfit game from a third-party seller. What? This game's web site states that the Amazon is one of the authorized sellers and I got it brand new from the Amazon. Then this clerk put me on hold twice and finally told me that they would not be able to replace the items since it was a limited-release game. Why could not they explain it in their first email?

We have had this game for nine months now and it is still a family favorite.Whenever we bring it out somewhere and start playing it, kids we don't know come over and join in the fun.I get requests to bring in along on our outings.Kids as young as 4 have learned to play the game well, yet it still holds the attention of adults.

It only takes a couple of minutes to learn the basics, but there is a strategy to it. Seven sets of colored marbles are placed randomly on a raised board.Each player pulls a Stomple out of a pouch and their color is the one on the top of the Stomple.Starting from the outside of the board you proceed to stomp out other players' marbles so that your color marble is the last one left. Each turn you can choose a different color to stomp on (as long as it is next to your Stomple), but you must continue stomping as long as that color is adjacent to the space you are on.You can jump to another part of the board if you get stuck, but only to your own color which reduces the amount of your marbles.

The board is made up of two pieces.The wooden bottom tray can hold all the marbles and the Stomples when the game isn't in use and catches the marbles as you stomp them. The top wooden piece has holes in it and is backed in foam so that the marbles can be held in place but still be easily pushed through by the Stomple.I was afraid that the foam would no longer hold the marbles up over time, but I have not found that to be the case.The game has taken a lot of abuse in the hands of my three sons and their friends, and it is still in one piece.BTW, the game uses standard sized marbles so you could replace them easily if any were to get lost.

As for the smell that others mentioned, the only odor I noticed was that of the stain that was used on the wooden board.The odor was gone after a few days and I did not find it to be an issue (and I am the type that can't enter a house with new carpeting for at least a week because of the outgassing).
